William S. “Bill” REED, 83, of Westfield, PA, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in Elmira, NY. Born October 11, 1942, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Arlington E. and Maude Cary Reed. On September 4, 1971, in Harrison Valley, he married Louise D. Schmidt, who survives.
A 1960 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War from 1968 – 1970. He worked the family farm, was a maintenance foreman for Westfield Tanning Company for most of his career, and was a skilled welder, mechanic, and equipment operator. He had a knack for solving complex problems with simple solutions. Bill loved music and played the guitar in an Army band and local bands.
She was born on March 31, 1928 in Carrollton, NY; a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Mosher Mattocks.
She attended Olean, NY schools.
On January 22, 1949 in Olean; she married Clifford T. Silvis who preceded her in death on December 15, 2011.
She was a member of the Coryville Church of Faith and she was a volunteer with the Eldred World War 2 museum for many years. When she was younger, she used to sell Avon, bowl at the former Smethport Bowling Lanes and volunteer for the former Home Extension. She enjoyed going for walks, working in her flower bed and she loved visiting with people.

Eris L. Hogue, formerly of Bradford and Bradenton, FL, passed away, Monday March 2, 2026, while at her daughters home in Seneca where she had resided the last couple of years.
Born in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eve (Daubenspeck) Latham. She was a 1941 graduate of Bradford High School.
On January 11, 1942, in Allegany, NY, she married Kenneth W. Hogue who died May 30, 2007.
For 28 years she worked at Corning Glass as an expediter.
Eris formerly attended the Derrick City United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Starlite Bowling League, a member of Bradford Women of the Moose and a member of the Red Hat Society. She had also been a Girl Scout Leader.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth C. (Lynn) Hogue, Gregory L. (the late Deborah) Hogue and Jeffrey A. Hogue all of Bradford, one daughter, Karen L. (the late Sam) Smith of Seneca, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken, three sisters, Jean Stiable, Josephine Latham and Erla D. Whitehill and one grandson, Todd M. Hogue.
Friends will be received on Friday, March 6, 2026, from noon to 1:00 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, 33 South Avenue where funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00 pm, with Fr. John Jacquel, Pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.

Brett A. Hilliard, 65, of West Washington Street, Bradford, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
Born August 30, 1960, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Ronald Lee and Donna J. (Hallock) Hilliard Sr. Brett was a 1978 graduate of Bradford High School.
On September 7, 1985 in Bradford, he married Julie (Cobb) Hilliard who survives.
Brett was employed as a Rural Route Driver for the Bradford Era for over 35 years.
He was a member of Eagles Club, and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed watching Western’s especially Gunsmoke, and John Wayne Movies.
Surviving is his wife Julie, they were together for over 50 years, one son, Brett A.Hilliard Jr., of Bradford, one granddaughter, Addison Hilliard, three sisters, Helen Hilliard, of Marienville, Shelley Hendryx, of Rew and Kathy Yehl, of Bandera, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Ronald Hilliard, and Gregory Hilliard.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Teresa E. Siple, 72, of Sioux Falls, passed away with her loving daughter by her side on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA, after a long illness.
Born on Sunday, February 14, 1954, in Cumberland, Maryland, she was a daughter of Arthur L. and Eileen V. Isner Siple.
She was a graduate of Fort Ashby High School in Fort Ashby, West Virginia. Teresa honorably served in the US Army for 22 years, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. She loved her time spent in the military.
Teresa loved to crochet, read, and swim. Her greatest loves were her family, friends, and her cat, Roman, who was her fur baby.
Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Preston (Unsuk) Siple, retired US Army, of Salado, TX and Sidney (Cynthia) Siple of Fort Ashley, WV; her stepdaughter, Ashley M. Smith of Kane, PA; three grandchildren, Cory Lancaster of Franklin, PA, Jeremy Lancaster of Philadelphia, PA, and Luke Tamayo of Cranberry, PA; and her best friend and honorary sister, Marsha Gifford of Keyser, WV.
Teresa was predeceased by her parents.
A graveside celebration of life for Teresa will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Fort Ashby, WV.

Port Allegany – Esther May Weimer, 97, of Roulette, passed away Thursday (February 26, 2026) at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
She was born July 3, 1928 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Frank and Letha (Shelley) Manning. On February 9, 1951, at the EUB Church in Port Allegany, she married Rayburn A. “J-Bird” Weimer, who died July 23, 2012.
Mrs. Weimer attended Wright’s and Liberty Schools in Port Allegany, and she was a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family. She also was instrumental in helping her husband with their dairy farm and logging business.
Esther attended the Sartwell Creek Union Church in Burtville, PA.
Pauline Bowen Dively, age 93 of Wellsboro, PA, died on February 27, 2026. She was born on September 8, 1932, in Middlebury Center, PA, the daughter of the late Guy and Helen (Briggs) Stevens. She was married for43 years to Verne W. Bowen, who preceded her in death on August 29, 1995. She was then married for 25years to Shirley F. Dively, who preceded her in death on December 28, 2023.
She graduated from Wellsboro High School, class of 1950, and was a member of Wellsboro United Methodist Church.
Pauline and her husband, Verne Bowen, owned and operated Kilkaro Holstein Farm, a family farm, until 1992.
She was a former Red Cross volunteer at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed needlework and square dancing and was a member of the Canyon Squares for many years. Traveling adventures included all fifty states and fifteen other countries.
John P. Bruno, Jr., 76, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Born on May 21, 1949, in Bradford, he was a son of the late John P. and Alice (Allen) Bruno, Sr.
He was a 1969 graduate of Bradford Area High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge on January 19, 1971.
On May 23, 1981, in the Sawyer Church in Bradford, he married Dawn M. (Milne) Bruno, who survives.
John worked as security guard for Dresser in Bradford and then became a maintenance man at Walmart.
He was an avid football enthusiast. If there was a football game on the tv he was going to watch it.
Betty Jean Soble, 96, a lifelong resident of Bradford, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Olean General Hospital.

George Tadder, wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa
Eldred- George Tadder of Eldred, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at home.
Born in Coudersport, PA, on September 19, 1958, the son of the late Clifford and Lucinda Burdick Tadder. On August 20, 1958, he married the former Betty Gummo, who survives.
George attended Northern Potter Junior Senior High School. He went on to work for the Daily Bread Cafe in Port Allegany. George was a member of the Old Man Coffee Club. He enjoyed a good game of pool and was the biggest bullshitter you ever met.
George is survived by his wife, Betty (Dolly); his sons, Wayne (Angela) Tadder and Trevor (Morgan) Tadder; five wonderful grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three sisters and four brothers.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Lucinda, and one brother.
There will be a Celebration of Life for George on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Eldred Township Firehall on Windfall Rd in Eldred.

Judith E. “Judy” Graves, 83, of Eldred, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford, after a long illness.
Born on Monday, April 20, 1942 in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of Sigfred and Violet Chelgren Alexis. On June 11, 1966 in Olean, NY, she married William R. Graves, who survives.
Judy was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. She was employed as a secretary in Olean at Prudential Life Insurance and later worked as a bookkeeper at the former Spring Hill Dairy in Portville, NY.
Glenn P. Perkins “Bills fan and hunter; loving “G. Pa”
Glenn Paul Perkins, 70, of Oswayo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Born on February 25, 1955, he was the son of Reuben and Ella Downs Perkins.
Glenn was employed at RAM Forest Products in Shinglehouse, where he retired after many years of service.
Surviving are a son, R. Kayle (Connie) Perkins of Shinglehouse; a granddaughter, Rubianne Perkins; three sisters, Patty (Bob) Burns, Myra (Mike) LaRock, and Karen (Randy) Stanley; and a brother Stephen Perkins; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends who enjoyed coming to his “man cave”.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was predeceased by a brother, Mike Perkins; and a sister, Rita Kay Perkins.
In keeping with Glenn’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Smethport – William D. “Bill” McKean, 83, of Smethport, passed away Monday (February 16, 2026) at UPMC-Hamot, Erie, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 2, 1942 in Kane, PA, the son of Robert and Marion (Bloomster) McKean. On June 24, 1967, he married Judith L. Rice, who survives.
Bill attended Smethport Schools and graduated in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army.
Bill worked for National Fuel Gas for 32 years, retiring in 1998, as a foreman.
He was a life member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport and the VFW Post #2497 of Smethport.
In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by:
One daughter: Jennifer (Shawn) Nielsen of Smethport
One son: Matthew (Heather) McKean of Smethport
Two grandchildren: Aiden and Madelyn McKean
And many nieces and nephews.

In Elmira, NY, on August 4, 1942, Nancy Lynn Benedict was welcomed into this world by Byron & Elouise Benedict. She then ascended into heaven on February 16, 2026, as a result of a decision to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.
Nancy grew up on the family farm in Whitneyville, PA with her two brothers, John T. Benedict (deceased) and Robert E. Benedict. She helped with the farm chores and enjoyed driving the tractor as she helped mowing down hay on various fields for the Federal soil bank program, as well as haying at other local farms. She continued to enjoy driving tractor all through her life.
Graduating from Wellsboro High School in 1960, she continued to Mansfield Teachers College, earning her degree in Elementary Education in 1964. While in college, she worked at the local Drive-In Theatre selling popcorn and taught guitar lessons in Mansfield. Upon graduating from Mansfield, she worked for 10 years (1964-1974) teaching 2nd Grade students at Portville, NY Central School District. During these years, she also worked to earn her Master’s Degree at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY.
In 1974, she was asked to serve as a summer missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship (C.E.F.) of Tioga County, PA. During that summer, she experienced an intensive and fruitful training by teaching and evangelizing with C.E.F. She then made the decision to follow God’s leading and to serve full-time as a Missionary for C.E.F., Inc.
Nancy served 35 years with C.E.F., starting as a summer missionary teaching 5-Day Clubs in Tioga County, PA. She then continued on as a C.E.F. local director in Northumberland, PA (1974-1989) with her best friend Welda Bell. Then they accepted new positions in C.E.F. as co-director of the state of Maryland (1989-1994). From 1994 until November 2001, Nancy served at the International Headquarters of C.E.F. in the United States of America Ministry Department in Warrenton, MO. From 2003-2009, she returned to Maryland serving as the State Director of C.E.F., training volunteers to teach God’s word to boys and girls.
Through her years of service, she considered it a privilege and joy to conduct training classes for teachers, as well as plan and orchestrate Vacation Bible Schools, Good News Clubs, Day Camps, and Overnight Camps.
Nancy’s hobby and joy was camping (glamping). She spent many winters in Florida camping with family and friends.
Nancy is a member of Bell Run Church and has enjoyed ministry in several capacities. Surviving is her life-time best friend, co-worker and confidante, Welda Bell. We wish to thank the Bell Family of Shinglehouse (Welda Bell, Ed Bell, and Nani Bell, and Patsy Colbey) for their adoption and un-ending love and care for Nancy.
Also surviving are her brother, Robert (Cynthia); nieces, Tammy Mengee and Maria Frank (Dan), both of Wellsboro, PA; nephew, Tyler Benedict (Tammy Jo) of Mansfield, PA; eight great nieces and one great nephew; and seven great-great nieces and nephews; cousins, Donald Benedict (Helen) of Mainesburg, PA, Donna Baker of Roseville, PA, and Joy Kerr of Phoenix, Arizona.

Cynthia S. Buckheit, 80, of Port Allegany, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Born November 10, 1945, in Port Allegany she was a daughter of the late Martin and Marian (Forslund) Sawyer.
Cindy was a woman whose life was marked by faith in the Lord and her quiet strength was an encouragement to those around her. From a young age, she loved the Lord and remained devoted to Him throughout her life. Her relationship with Christ shaped every part of who she was as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and servant. Her family will always remember her smiles and her hugs, her “Lord Bless Yous”, and that she always waved goodbye from the porch. To know Cindy was to be prayed for and loved. She lived out the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:18, praising the Lord in every situation, good or bad. Though our hearts grieve, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Smethport – Jill R. Jordan, 69, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (February 15, 2026) at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
She was born December 23, 1956 in Sedailia, MO, the daughter of James Gotshall and Lois Hults . On August 31, 1974, in Eldred, PA, she married Thomas B. Jordan, who survives.
Jill was a 1974 graduate of Port Allegany High School and received her CNA from BOCES in Olean, NY. She worked as a CNA for several years, and ultimately worked at Char-Lo Ceramics of Port Allegany, PA, along with her family.
She was a member of the Smethport Red Hats and the Allegheny Mountain Engine & Implement Association.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by:

Three grandchildren: Odin Loveless, Landon Loveless and Kelsey Peters

Gary W. Wolfe, 71, of Middlebury Center, passed away Saturday February 14, 2026, at his home.
He was born August 23, 1954, in Keyser, WV, the son of the late Leonard W. and Frances E. (Fanto) Wolfe.
He married the former Gloria A. Fuller, and they have been married for 52 years. Gary graduated from Keyser High School, Class of 1972, and owned and operated Wolfe Communications retiring in 2025. Gary was a faithful servant of the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member and supporter of the Navajo BIC Mission, Bloomfield, NM, and made many visitations with shut-ins.
In addition to his wife, Gloria, Gary is survived by sons: Kristopher Wolfe, and Anthony (Jessica) Wolfe both of Middlebury Center; mother-in-law, Lois Fuller of Middlebury Center; brothers-in-law: Rex (Danelle) Fuller of Middlebury Center; and Floyd (Kate) Fuller of Millerton; grandchildren: Mitchell Wolfe, Alexandra Wolfe, Kaitlyn Wolfe, Garrett Wolfe, and Alyssa Wolfe, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gene Fuller.

David Robert Swaney of Bradford, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born on January 21, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the first son of Robert F. and June D. Swaney. On July 10, 1971 he married Andrea J. Swaney of Punxsutawney.
In addition to his wife of almost 55 years, he is survived by one daughter, Stephanie (Erik) Wessel of Pinckney, Michigan and their son Andersson, Dave’s only grandchild; one son, Jared Swaney of Bradford; his sister, Linda (Aubrey) Raper of North Carolina; his brother, Scott (Bonnie) Swaney of Renfrew, Pa.; three nieces, Jessica, Saysha and Athena and three nephews, Noah, Jason and William.
Dave earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Clarion State College and became an elementary teacher. He taught for 30 years in Bradford schools, where he loved his students and the camaraderie with his fellow teachers. He taught Sunday school and youth group, and led adult Bible studies at West Branch Methodist Church and later at First United Methodist. He was very involved in local outreach programs at both churches because he loved helping others. He was a member of the Gideons International, helping to distribute Bibles on many occasions. Dave also coached many different soccer teams throughout the years.
He loved to sing and act, participating in many community productions, the Contemporary Christian Choir and his churches’ choirs and praise team.
After a courageous battle with several rounds of a rare form of cancer, Dave succumbed to respiratory failure.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Destinations of Bradford, the American Cancer Society or the Gideons International.
A Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, February 20, at 11am.

Irene M. Micale, 95, a resident of Pinecrest Manor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Penn Highlands Elk.
She was born on February 21, 1930 in Johnsonburg, PA, a daughter of the late William and Mary Hoh Zuraski.
On June 16, 1951, she married the late Tillio “Tink” Micale, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2006. Together they were blessed with more than 55 years of marriage.
Irene was a graduate of Wilcox High School, class of 1948. She was a lifelong, faithful member of Sacred Heart Church. She was a dedicated employee at the A & P for many years, a job she greatly enjoyed, and which gave her the opportunity to meet and make many friends. An avid Cinch player, Irene loved to play cards and always enjoyed a trip to the casino to try her luck. She also loved spending time with her family at their family reunions, as well as going camping. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy and were the light and love of her life.
Patricia L. HURD, 62, of Mills, PA, died Sunday, February 15, 2026 in UPMC Williamsport, PA.
Born September 15, 1963, in Blossburg, she was the daughter of Richard G. and Roxie L. Houghtaling Sharp. She was married to Clayton E. Hurd, who survives.
Surviving include: her husband, Clayton; three children, Nicole (Anthony) Soule, Jessica (Brandon) Lawrence, and Clayton (Jazmin) Hurd, Jr.; and five grandchildren, Dawson Walaski, Cedryck Walaski, Ava Hurd, Brayden Hurd-Soule, and Ella Hurd.

Howard H. Rathbun “beloved father and grandfather”
CHRYSTAL, PA—-Howard H. Rathbun, 88, a lifelong resident of Chrystal, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Cuba Memorial Hospital, Cuba, NY, after a short illness.
Born on Saturday, June 12, 1937 in Olean, NY, he was a son of Ernest and Margaret Hull Rathbun. On December 31, 1958 in Arlington, Virginia, he married Melanie “Mel” Voorhees, who passed away on December 14, 2019.
Howard was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. He was employed by the former Dresser Rand in Olean, NY for 35 years, where he was a member and financial secretary for the Steelworkers Union. He was also a co-owner of Rathbun Farm Maple Products in Chrystal. He was a member and former president of the Chrystal Cemetery Association and was a former director of the Potter-Tioga Maple Producers, a former director of the Potter County Fair Association, a former director of the Potter County Livestock Committee and a former school board director of the Oswayo Valley School Board in Shinglehouse. Howard enjoyed hunting and bird watching.
Sandra Kay “Sandy” Roulo, 83, of Lewis Run, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born July 19, 1942, in Olean NY, she was a daughter of the late Louise “Peg” (Albaugh) and Paul V. Trumbull. Sandy attended Bradford schools.
On July 29, 1961, in Portville NY, she married Joseph R. Roulo Sr., who preceded her in death on July 4, 2000.
Sandy had been employed at Corning Glass and Bradford Electronics for over 40 years.
Sandy was very active in several area clubs which included the Bradford Eagles Club, and the Bradford VFW Auxiliary, the Bradford Women of the Moose Auxiliary where she was an Officer. She enjoyed knitting and provided countless pairs of slippers for her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her five children; Jeffrey (Julia) McLaughlin, of Bradford, Ronda (Dennis) Himes, of Lewis Run, Terri (Mike) Dolan, of Bradford, Charles (Lisa) Roulo, of Lewis Run, and Joseph (Karen) Roulo, of Bradford, her six grandchildren, Emily, Nolan, Carter, Ava, Davis, and Damien, who gave her the nickname “Goowah”. Sandy is also survived by two brothers, David Trumbull, of Rochester NY, and Donny Trumbull, of Moriarty NM, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Brian McLaughlin, one sister, Barbara Gervais, and one brother, Paul “Butch” Trumbull.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday February 18, 2026, from 4 PM to 7:00 PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., where funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday with Rev. Jay Tennies, Pastor of the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
