Sandra Lee Peterson, “beloved by all.”

CERES, PA—Sandra Lee “Sandy” Peterson, 77, of Ceres, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Born on Wednesday, August 11, 1948, in Cuba, NY, she was the daughter of Adam and Zora Wakefield Wysocki.

Sandy earned her GED from Bolivar Central High School.  She was employed by the former Acme Electric in Allegany, NY, and Cuba, NY, as a technician. She was later employed by Dresser-Rand in Wellsville, NY.

Sandy was a member of the Ceres United Methodist Church.  She very much enjoyed mowing her yard, playing cards, and her cats.

Surviving are three sons, Stephan M. Sisson of Virginia, Sean M. (Heidi) Sisson of Montrose, and Sheldon M.”Bum” Sisson of Laceyville; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet (John) Reese of Shinglehouse and Eileen (Rod) Burd of Syracuse, NY; a brother, Marty Wysocki; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was predeceased by a son, Stewart M. Sisson; a grandson, Dustin Sisson; a sister, Margaret Mix; and a daughter-in-law, Teri Sisson.

In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, there will be no public services.  She will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery, Ceres.

Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorials in Sandy’s name may be made to the Ceres United Methodist Church, PO Box 34, Ceres, NY 14721.

Sandy’s family entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
