CHRYSTAL, PA—-Howard H. Rathbun, 88, of a lifelong resident of Chrystal, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Cuba Memorial Hospital, Cuba, NY, after a short illness.
Family and friends may gather from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse. Funeral services will be private. The Rev. Russell J. Horning, of Shinglehouse, will officiate. Burial will be in Chrystal Cemetery, Chrystal.

George S. Rhodes Jr., 71, of Rew died Thursday (Feb. 12, 2026) in Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital.
He was born on Father’s Day, June 20, 1954, in Bradford, the only son of G. Scott and Dorothy Luke Rhodes Sr. George graduated from Otto-Eldred High School in 1973.
On Aug. 1, 1980, in St. Elizabeth Church in Smethport, he married Judy A. (Marsh) Rhodes, who survives.
Mr. Rhodes worked from his high school days until literally the day before he died. He worked at Ethan Allen, Zippo Manufacturing Co. and Servco Services Inc. He worked for Bradford Forest for 34 years and became a certified lumber grader after attending school through the National Hardwood Lumber Association in Tennessee. He also worked on oil leases for many years, including for his father’s in Coleville. He also worked for Digel and Newman, also in Coleville.
He was a former member of the Rew Volunteer Fire Department. He also bowled for the Steak Kitchen and Zippo at Byllye Lanes.
Surviving, in addition to his wife Judy of 45 years, is one daughter, Laura Rhodes (Matt Davidson) of Athens; one son, Nathan Rhodes (Karlie Deming) of Bradford; three granddaughters, Emma Yohe, Kari Yohe and Liliana Rhodes; one grandson, Landon Davidson; six sisters, Susan Bradley, Martha Rhodes and Sarah Rhodes, all of Bradford, Nancy Tometsko of Girard, Paula Piper of Clifton Springs, NY, and Sandra Rhodes of Lake City; plus several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 372 East Main Street.

Patrick A. “Pat” Milbrandt, 66, of 13 Beech Ct, Lewis Run, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Born on October 29, 1959, in Bradford, he was a son of the late John Milbrandt, and Lorraine (Hinman) Milbrandt, who survives.
He was a 1977 graduate from Randolph High School.
On November 30, 1985, in Our mother of Perpetual Help Church, in Lewis Run, he married Colleen (Runyan) Milbrandt, who survives.
Pat worked in high school at the Allegany State Park for is father, who was the Park Superintendent. He later worked for UPS then for McCourt Label for 43 years, where he was a printer and foreman.
He loved to spend time with his family, go out hunting and fishing, and tinker in his workshop. He played softball in Randolph, NY and enjoyed bowling.
Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Colleen, his mother, Lorraine, of Steamburg, NY, one daughter, Brooke (Josh) Sitch, of Belleville , one son, James (Alexandria) Milbrandt, of Coatesville, one sister, Susan (Joe) Doriguzzi, of Lewis Run, three brothers, John Michael (Ellen) Milbrandt, of Amherst, NY, Joseph (Peggy) Milbrandt, of Steamburg, NY, and Robert (Terri) Milbrandt, of Ellington, NY, his mother in-law, Grace Runyan, of Lewis Run, two brother-in-laws, Patrick Runyan, of Lewis Run and Shawn (Michelle) Runyan, of Bradford, four grandchildren, Lauren Sitch, Kinley Sitch, Alivia Milbrandt, and Izabelle Milbrandt, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, John, two brothers, Timothy Milbrandt, and James Milbrandt, father-in-law, Norman Runyan, brother-in-law, Norman (Cub) Runyan, and twin grandchildren, Jackson Patrick and Emilia Jane.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, in the Togi’s Blue Room.

Michalene “Mikki” Schillinger, 53, of 153 Looker Mountain Trail, Bradford, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born March 11, 1972, in Olean, NY, she is the daughter of Keith and Pamela (Mesler) Learn who survive. She was a 1991 graduate from Oswawo Valley High School.
On May 1, 1993, in Shinglehouse, she married Brian Schillinger who survives.
Mikki joined CNB Bank in March 1999 as a teller. She quickly moved into a role of Customer Service Representative. She became the Manager of Holiday Financial for several years, before returning to CNB Bank as a Lending Specialist. She was a sought after lending specialist who excelled at her job. Over the years she made many connections in the community and had an impressive portfolio. Mikki made a lasting impression on her co-workers and formed many strong friendships over the years.
Mikki was a volunteer for No Feline Left Behind, and member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post #108.
Mikki loved to spend time with her friends and family, visit the family cottage in the summers, and relax outside in the sun on the beach.
Surviving is her parents of Shinglehouse, husband Brian, of 32 years, one son, Mitchell Schillinger, of Bradford, one brother, Jarret ( Vanessa) Learn, of Shinglehouse, and three sisters-in-law, Denise (Brad) Buchholz, of Shinglehouse, Sharon (Chris) Cobb, Bradford, and Janelle Shikoski,of North Dakota, and several nieces and nephews.

Carl L. Loeffler, Jr., 75, of 499 Wolfel Avenue, St. Marys, passed away with his family by his side Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born October 31, 1950, in St. Marys, son of the late Carl “Spike” and Kathryn “Katie” Francis Loeffler.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, class of 1969 and attended classes at University of Pittsburgh in addition to obtaining his Journeyman Tool and Diemaker certification. Over the years, he worked in many aspects of the Powdered Metal Industry, including Carbon City Products, Quala-Die, Windfall Products, AST and Metaltech Inc. He shared his knowledge as a teacher at SMAHS before co-founding Arete QIS. On October 2, 1971, he married Christine DeLullo at Sacred Heart Church.
They were blessed to share 54 years of marriage. He was a steadfast partner to Chris and together they built a home rooted in faith and love.
In addition to his loving wife, Carl is survived by two daughters: Dr. Julia Wonderling (Eric) and Barbara Adams; a son, Jeffrey Loeffler; grandchildren: Trevor (Brianna Rosequist) Adams, Cassie (Sierra) Wonderling, Allie (Adam) Lovenduski, Bobby Murtha, and Ellie Bender; great grandchildren: Caroline, Josephine, Bobby, Arabella and Evelyn, and another on the way; sisters: Kathy (Dave) Ryan and Teri (Mike) Rigard; brothers: John (Sandy) Loeffler and Tony (Ginger) Loeffler; sister-in-law Carolyn Loeffler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Adams, and two brothers: Jim Loeffler and his wife Kim, and Mike Loeffler.
Carl was a patient father and constant source of encouragement, taking great pride in his children’s accomplishments and supporting them through every stage of their lives. One of his greatest joys was being “Papa Carl”. Whether attending events, sharing stories, offering advice, or simply spending time together, he treasured every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding beauty in nature, and joy in sharing it with his family.
A faithful and dedicated member of Sacred Heart Parish, Carl lived his Catholic Faith daily. He generously shared his time and talents within the parish, especially as a lector and sacristan at the daily Mass he faithfully attended.
Carl was a hardworking man with great love for his Catholic faith, his family, and this community. He will be greatly missed.

Debbie A. Defibaugh, 70, of Smethport, passed away Sunday (February 8, 2026) at Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford.
She was born May 1, 1955 in Kane, PA, the daughter of John and Elaine (Leichtenberger) Boylan. On October 1, 1977, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mt. Jewett, PA, she married Benjamin R. Defibaugh, who died November 18, 2011.
Mrs. Defibaugh was a graduate of Smethport Area High School Class of 1973. She worked at Kane Magnetics until 2005 and then went to work as a purchasing agent for Keystone Tool & Die of Weston Mills, NY.
Debbie was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Smethport, where she was a former organist.

Kevin Robert HOUBEN, 53, of Wellsville, NY, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in his home. Born October 28, 1972, in Olean, he was the son of Robert and Carolyn Maxson Houben.
He was employed as a service technician by ASSA ABLOY. Kevin enjoyed music, traveling, camping, and LEGOs.
Surviving are: his parents of Wellsville; a sister, Ronda Calhoun Houben of Avon; a brother, Keith Houben of Lima; two nieces, two nephews, and their families.

Barbara A. “Barb” Eck-Haynes, 76, of Smethport, formally of Alleghany, NY, a beloved sister, and aunt passed away, February 9, 2026, at the Buffalo Veterans Hospital.
Born on October 25, 1949, in Fort McPherson, GA, she was a daughter of the late Inez S, (Bosworth) Eck.
She was a 1971 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
Barb enlisted in the United States Navy on April 26, 1974. She worked as a Personal Administrator. She retired with the rank of PN2, and was honorably discharged on January 16, 1985. After retirement she returned to the local area.
She enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family. She especially enjoyed the time she spent while taking care of her brother Dennis.
Surviving are two sisters, Karen MacKenzie of Smethport and Sandra (Berry) Sherrick, of Greensburg, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez, one brother, Dennis Eck, her grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and one nephew, two great nephews, and one great niece.
At Barb’s request there will be no public service held.

Marion M. MATTESON, 91, of Wellsville, NY, died Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Wellsville Manor Care Center. Born October 28, 1934, in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of Mart and Helen M. Pelchy Matteson.
On February 18, 1956, in the Shongo church, he married Mary A. Greene, who survives. He was employed by Ford & Peckham Construction in Andover, Scoville Brown Grocery in Wellsville, and Air Preheater in Wellsville, retiring in 1996.
Surviving besides his wife, Mary, are: a son, Brian (Tammy) Matteson of Wellsville; a daughter, Karen (Charles) Annis of Wellsville; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons, Scott J. Matteson and Alan M. Matteson; a son-in-law, Stanley R. Weinhauer; a grandson, Jarrid L. Matteson; a great-granddaughter, Taylor; three brothers, Orville Matteson, Alva Matteson, and Ernest N. Matteson; and four sisters, Mildred Watson, Iva Austin, Phyllis Denhoff, and Agnes Currier.
A private graveside service will be in held Yorks Corners Cemetery on a later date. Memorials may be made to the Allegany County Office for the Aging or a charity of the donor’s choice.
COUDERSPORT, PA—Paul Edward Keller, 82, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Born on Thursday, January 20, 1944, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of Theodore and Hulda Keller. On May 15, 1964 in Coudersport, he married Joyce Haskins, who passed away on February 28, 2003.
Paul was employed at Wending Creek Farms in Coudersport from 1992 until 2005. He spent 30 plus years as the caretaker and board member of the Eulalia Cemetery in Coudersport.
Since his retirement, Papa enjoyed working on small engines, playing pool with family and friends, listening to the Pirates baseball games, going out to eat at his favorite restaurant, Kaytee’s, and helping with Coudersport car shows.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jessica M. Cornelius of Coudersport; four grandsons, James Colwell of Smethport, and Michael Colwell, Nathan Cornelius and Scott Cornelius all of Coudersport; a great-granddaughter; three great-grandsons; two sisters, Edna Hurst of Hughesville and Eldora Levin of Flagstaff, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by close important loved ones, Kevin Cornelius, Robert Hoffman, China Colwell, Jeremy Shields, Helen Bowen, Richard and Diane Gerner, Lisa Hoffman, and Donnie Hoffman.
Phyllis C. MOORE, 98, of Wellsville, NY, died Thursday, February 5, 2026 in UR Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.
Born September 26, 1927, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Carroll A. and Mildred Whitney Church.
Phyllis went to a one room schoolhouse on Trapping Brook Road and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1944. Following high school, she earned her Registered Nurse degree from Strong Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester.
She was employed as a nurse by Jones Memorial Hospital for 25 years. Phyllis was a member of the former Christian Temple, now Grace United Church in Wellsville.
Surviving are: two sons, Alan (Ann) Moore of Ontario and Donald (Bonnie) Moore of Gray Court, SC; a daughter, Nancy Moore of Wellsville; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two nieces, Karen Gross and Phylis Baker; and a nephew, Fred Strawson, Jr.
She was predeceased by a sister, Esther Strawson; and a brother, William W. “Bill” Church.

Richard Walter Dennis Jr., 61, passed away on February 4, 2026, in the Philippines. Born on June 12, 1964, in Blossburg, Richard lived a life marked by devotion to his faith, his family, and the many passions that brought him joy.
A proud graduate of Galeton Area High School, Class of 1982, Richard carried with him the values of hard work and community throughout his life. He was a devoted Christian who found strength and purpose in his faith. Whether attending church services in the United States or in the Philippines, Richard remained steadfast in his belief in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Richard shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Flordeles. Together, they built a life rooted in mutual respect and affection. In their later years, they retired to the Philippines, where Richard embraced a slower pace of life filled with meaningful service. He found great fulfillment volunteering within both his local community and church.
Meda M. SULLINGER, 54, of Coudersport, PA, formerly of Oakwood and Van Wert, OH, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in her home.
Born April 11, 1971, in Defiance, OH, she was the daughter of Donald A. and Deloris “Jean” Wallick Weible.
On September 15, 2015, in Coudersport, she married Timothy W. Sullinger, who survives. A 1990 graduate of Paulding High School, she served honorably with the U.S. Army. Meda was employed by Eaton Aeroquip in Ohio and Truck-Lite in Coudersport.
Surviving are: her husband and companion of 20 years, Tim Sullinger; a son, Matthew Weible serving with the U.S. Army; three sisters, Michelle (Rob) Oller and Monica (Gary) Lloyd, both of Defiance, OH, and Melissa (Rob) Taylor of Napoleon, OH; six nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and an infant son, Kurt Weible.
A gathering to celebrate Meda’s life will be held in Ohio on a later date.

Lila J. McLaughlin “beloved mother and grandmother”
CYCLONE, PA—Lila J. McLaughlin, 83, of Cyclone, passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, after a lengthy illness.
Born on Saturday, June 27, 1942 in Farmers Valley, she was one of 13 children and the youngest daughter of Frank and Ethel Anderson Williams. In March of 1983, she married Ronald E. McLaughlin, Sr. who preceded her in death.
In her early years she was employed by Sena Kean Manor in Smethport as a nurse’s aide.
Lila enjoyed playing Bingo. Her greatest loves were her family and friends. She loved her many pets throughout the years.
Surviving are her four children, Bradley (Dawn) James of Cyclone, Cory (Laurie) James of Salamanca, NY, Tammy (Mark) Higgins of Coudersport, and Ronald E. (Tina) McLaughlin, Jr. of Cyclone; a stepson, Brian (Christie) McLaughlin of Winchester, VA; a stepdaughter, Shelly Battle of Tennessee; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Norman Williams of Cyclone; a sister, Dorothy Manning of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lila was predeceased by a son, Jeffery James; a daughter, Brenda Renko; a grandson, Heath Renko; a son-in-law, Joseph Renko; seven brothers; and three sisters.

Linea M. Taylor, 81, of Ceres, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY.
Born on Tuesday, September 12, 1944, in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of Harold A. “Ole” and Helen D. Cornelius Olson. On April 6, 1963, in Obi, NY, she married Garry D. Taylor, who survives.
Linea was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. Linea was formerly employed at the former Jack and Mary’s Restaurant in Rushford, NY. Previously, she had been employed at a knitting mill in Fillmore, NY.
She was a life member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. Linea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—taking care of her family was one of her greatest joys. She loved to cook and bake. She found joy in painting later in life with friends in Shinglehouse. She loved knitting, crocheting, reading, Western square dancing, and round dancing. Her greatest loves were her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the best friend anyone could ever want.

Kenneth G. SAULEY, 79, of Hector Township, Sabinsville, PA, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in Sheila’s Personal Care Home, Mansfield.
Born December 21, 1946, in Hershey, he was the son of George M. and Verna M. Holtzman Sauley. He was married to Barbara L. Stine, who predeceased him on October 7, 2017.
Ken was a PA State Trooper for 25 years, retiring in 1994. Beginning in 1998, he served as Potter County Deputy Sheriff and then Potter County Sheriff.
Surviving are: a son, Michael A. Sauley of Galeton; two granddaughters; and a sister, Sandra K. Goodman of Berkeley Springs, WV.
Gordon G. Tucker “beloved husband, son, and brother”
Gordon G. Tucker, 75, of Turtlepoint, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in UPMC Williamsport, after a long illness.
Born on Sunday, November 26, 1950 in Roulette, he was a son of Paul “Boots” and Shirley Weimer Tucker. On July 28, 2001 in Roulette, on the patio of the family farm he grew up on, he married Tammy A. Hopkins, who survives.
Gordon was a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 1968. He attended Mansfield University, Williamsport Community College and Indiana State University of Pennsylvania.
Gordon and his cousin, Jimmy Tucker were loggers. He also sold insurance, was the manager of the former MacFrugal’s Discount Department Stores in Phoenix, Arizona and Salt Lake City, Utah. His last position before retiring was working as an IT Specialist for the former Teleperformance in Columbus, Ohio.
Gordon was a SciFi enthusiast. He had a wicked sense of humor, sometimes he was just funny and other times a little diabolical. He loved animals, but his greatest love was his wife and family.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 24 years; are his mother of Roulette; two brothers, Stanley (Micki) Tucker of Roulette and Leslie “Chip” (Kathy) Tucker of Ashburn Farms, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Gordon was predeceased by his father.

Betty Jean Soble, 96, a lifelong resident of Bradford, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Olean General Hospital.
Born February 26, 1929, in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Claude R. Poling and Dorothy M. (Lamberson) Poling Good. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1947.
On September 11, 1948, in Bradford, she married the love of her life, Dale C. Soble, who preceded her in death on August 31, 2015. Together they built a warm, lively home centered on what mattered most to Betty was her family. Raising five children was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Her pride only grew as her family expanded, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty worked at Kendall Refining Company, the YMCA, and later served as a Secretary for the District Justice Office in Bradford until her retirement. After retiring, she and Dale enjoyed 22 wonderful years in Winter Haven, FL.
Gordon G. Tucker, 75, of Turtlepoint, passed away on Sunday, February1, 2026, in UPMC Williamsport, after a long illness.

Alfred F. “Buddy” Lamb, 85, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 following a brief illness.
He was born on August 19, 1940 in Austin, PA, a son of the late Alfred and Gladys Hoak Lamb.
Buddy worked for several years at Elcam in St. Marys. He was a member of the PFL, CMF, and the K of C. Coming from a musically inclined family, Buddy loved listening to music and attending square dances with the Bells of St. Marys Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed spending time at the St. Marys Senior Center and with the Spark Club, where he met and made many friends. Buddy loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved nothing more than spending time at hunting camp with family. As an avid fisherman, Buddy always looked forward to stocking trout in the area with the Fish and Boat Commission.
Buddy is survived by his sister-in-law; Lesa Lamb of Kersey, and by two nieces, two great-nieces, and one great-great niece.
In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his brother; George Lamb, in 2023, and by a nephew; Jeff Lamb in 2015.
A Memorial Service for Alfred F. “Buddy” Lamb will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Zilhaver, Pastor of St. Marys Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will be received at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.

Travis S. “Shovelhead” Wackwitz, 42, of Shinglehouse, passed way unexpectedly at the home of his parents in Shinglehouse, PA, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born on Monday, December 19, 1983, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Melvin T. Wackwitz, Sr. and Lydia V. Stevens Carpenter.
Travis was a graduate of Bradford High School. He was employed by George Jones as a logger in Shinglehouse. He was a concrete specialist having installed but also constructed wave pools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania (including Waldameer Park in Erie, PA), and Darien Lake in New York. He also built log homes and was an electrician. He was a talented person.
His many hobbies and interests included hunting, fishing, kayaking, riding his Harley, snowmobiling and riding his side by side. He loved his dog, Kara.
Left to cherish his memory are his father, Melvin T. “Todd” Wackwitz, Sr. of Bradford; his mother, Lydia V. (Harold) Carpenter of Shinglehouse; his longtime girlfriend, Tracy L. Bliss of Shinglehouse; his siblings, Shambra L., Melvin T., Jr., Dustin L., Harold M. Jr., Brittany L., Michael T., Steven L., Sharon A., Selena L., and Samantha L.; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and so many friends he called family.
Travis was predeceased by a sister; a brother; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his stepmother, Angie B. Wackwitz.

Verna L. MONROE, 84, passed from this world on January 31, 2026, peacefully with daughters by her side, to go home to her husband, son, mom, dad, and her sisters. She had a huge heart and loved her family.
Verna is survived by her two sons, two daughters and their families, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, stepchildren, and friends. As per Verna’s wishes, there will be no services.

Charles L. “Chuck” Claycomb, 67, of Coryville, PA, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday (February 1, 2026).
He was born November 25, 1958 in Johnstown, PA, the son of Roy and Twila (Hudson) Claycomb. On March 29, 1997, in the Coryville Church of Faith, he married Melissa S. Bhe, who survives.
Chuck was a graduate of Smethport Area High School. He owned and operated Claycomb Autobody in Coryville for many years, up until his passing.
He was a former EMT for the Smethport Ambulance Association. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and going fishing, especially with his grandchildren.
