Ronald L. Haight, Jr., 52, of Wildwood Avenue, Bradford, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at his residence.
Born August 16, 1972, in Bradford, he was is son of Minerva E. Means E. (Means) Haight, of Lewis Run, and the late Ronald L. Haight, Sr.
He was a 1991 graduate of Bradford High School.
Ron formerly worked at Walmart for over 10 years, and currently was working at the Dollar General. He enjoyed playing the drums, gaming, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed keeping two parrots, Eddie and VanHalen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard Catholic Church. Burial will be private.

PITT-BRADFORD PLANS EMPTY BOWLS AND BASKETS EVENT THURSDAY
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will hold its 15th Empty Bowls and Baskets Dinner on Thursday, March 27.
The event, which raises awareness and money and awareness about hunger in the Bradford area, will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Mukaiyama University Room in the Frame-Westerberg Commons. A requested donation of $10 for the public and $5 for Pitt-Bradford students and children will be accepted at the door.
The tasting will include an array of homemade soups, bread and baked goods along with beverages. Diners may take home a handcrafted basket, ceramic bowl or napkin set as a reminder that someone else’s bowl might be empty.
The event is a community-wide effort. Pitt-Bradford students, faculty and staff wove baskets, local school students made artwork, and local artisans and students contributed bowls.

James W. Williamson III, 83, of Coudersport and formerly of Cuba, New York, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 22, 1941, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was a son of James W. and Anne (Morris) Williamson, Jr. On July 23, 1960 he married the former Rose Marie Dempsey who predeceased him on October 2, 2000. Later he married Kathleen Wilson who survives.
Kenneth E. Thom, 66, of Ridgway, PA
Kenneth E. Thom, 66, of Ridgway, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at his residence.
Ken was born on June 28, 1958, in Ridgway, a son of Philip (Kitty) Thom and the late Dolores Kline.
On June 29, 2002 Ken married Sue Monella of Ridgway, who survives. Together they shared more than 22 years of love and marriage.
Ken graduated from Ridgway High School, class of 1976. He was employed by US Resistor for many years. Ken could often be found outdoors, spending time at camp watching the river or attending his granddaughter’s softball games. He enjoyed watching dirt track races and his grandson’s BMX races. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan, attending many games over the years. Ken faced many medical hardships in his life, needing a double lung transplant in 2013, and a kidney transplant in 2020. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and his family.
Preliminary Work Underway for Bridge Replacement in Hebron Township, Potter County
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a contractor has started preliminary work to replace a bridge spanning Oswayo Creek near the intersection of Derring Hollow Road, approximately 1.5 miles Southeast of Oswayo, in Hebron Township, Potter County. This project will improve the overall condition rating of the bridge from poor to good.
Current work will have little or no impact on travel, however, crews will establish a three-day detour around the bridge in April, after which single lane closures will be used with temporary signals providing traffic control. PennDOT will issue updates on project progress as the implementation of these alternate traffic patterns approach. Once in place, the three-day detour will utilize Routes 44, 49, and 449 to route traffic around the project site.
Overall work on this project includes the replacement of the existing bridge with a new structure, reconstruction of the approaching roadway, and related construction. John Nastase Construction of Snow Shoe, PA is the contractor on this $2 million project. PennDOT anticipates completion in October.

Thomas L. Larson, 77, of 20 South Park Street, Cuba, and formerly of Friendship, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Jones Memorial Hospital after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on November 27, 1947, in Jamestown, New York, he was a son of Elver and Lillian (Malmstrom) Larson of Falconer, New York. On January 2, 1971 he married the former Carolyn Davidson who survives.
Tom was a graduate of Falconer High School Class of 1966. He then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from November 30, 1968 until April 7, 1972.
Ronald Lewis Haight Jr., 52, Of Bradford, PA
Ronald Lewis Haight Jr. passed away in his home Sunday (March 23, 2025) at the age of 52. He was born Aug. 16, 1972, in Bradford. Ronald was a lifelong resident of the area and active in the community.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Crystal Brackett Summers; mother, Minerva E. Haight; brother, Brad L. Haight; two sons, Anthony Haight and Joshua Good; one daughter, Sabrina Miller; nephew Derec Haight; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Haight Sr.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Bridge Replacement Begins on Cummings Creek Road in Farmington Twp. Tioga County
Motorists are advised that starting next week, a portion of Cummings Creek Road (Route 4027) will be closed in Farmington Township, Tioga County, for a bridge replacement project. The bridge, which carries Cummings Creek Road over Cummings Creek is located between Elkhorn Road (Route 4024) and Watson Road.
Starting on Monday, March 31, 2025, Cummings Creek Road will be closed between Route 249 and Route 49, while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) department force bridge crew prepare to remove the existing structure. Work on the project includes removal of the existing structure, replacement with a box culvert, paving, line painting, and guide rail upgrades.
A detour using Route 249, Losey Creek Road (Route 4017), and Route 49 will be in place for the duration of the project. The project is anticipated to be completed in June 2025, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution.

Born March 31, 1941, in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of Arnold R. and Leona M. Jones Goerner. On July 25, 1965, in Kingston, GA, she married Ronald G. Cowburn, who predeceased her on September 8, 2010.

Born November 7, 1954, in Wellsville, NY, she was the daughter of Jack Carl and Loraine Shelley Perkins. She attended school in Smethport until her family moved to California. Debbie devoted her life to raising her sons. She was employed as a deli manager and worked as a tax preparer until her health failed. Debbie was an avid bird watcher and an excellent cook.

Drew Eric HEISEY, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2025, at the age of 39. Born March 14, 1986, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Daryl and Linda Peters Heisey of Rexville, NY.
Growing up on a farm, Drew developed a strong work ethic from an early age, helping with daily chores and responsibilities. He cherished the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing, hunting, and riding with friends. In more recent years, Drew also developed a love for golf, a sport where he found peace and joy, often enjoying the game with those closest to him.
A 2004 graduate of Whitesville Central School, Drew excelled in athletics, with basketball being his lifelong passion. One of his proudest moments came during his senior year when he led his team to the State finals alongside his best friends and family, and supported by the unwavering spirit of his tight-knit community.

Patricia Anne Pecora passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday, March 21, 2025, with family members by her side.
Patricia was born September 6, 1925, and spent most of her life in Bradford.
After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class in 1942 from Bradford Area High School. Pat married the love of her life, Maurice Pecora, who predeceased her.
