Linda M. Hurd, 61, of Clara, PA., Update

Linda M. Hurd “beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister”
CLARA, PA—Linda M. Hurd, 61, of Clara, passed away with her loving family by her side on Friday, May 9, 2025, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, after a short illness.
Born on Tuesday, July 2, 1963, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Lawrence and Sophia Denhoff Snyder. On September 25, 1982 in the Hebron Union Church, Hebron Center, she married John P. Hurd, who survives.
Linda attended Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse and earned her GED. She was employed by the former Hewitt Manor Nursing Home in Shinglehouse and later was employed by Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport, retiring as head of Laundry Services after 26 years of service to care for her husband during an illness.
At the time of her death, Linda was employed at the Oswayo Apartments in Shinglehouse maintaining the property and was also employed by Muccio Transportation, enjoying driving the Amish children. She was currently serving as a Clara Township supervisor.
Linda enjoyed baking, quilting and sewing. She loved gardening, camping and going to dinner with her friends. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 42 years; two daughters, Cari (Cody) Frost of Erie and Ashley (Bob) Siebert of Shinglehouse; two granddaughters, Paige Siebert and Jocelyn Frost; a sister, Betsy (Gordon) Mesler of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by a brother, Darwin Snyder; and a sister, Cathy Blauvelt.
Family and friends may call from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Linda’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
Linda’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
