Lawrence B. Jackson, 77, of Wellsboro, passed away Sunday May 18, 2025 at UPMC Williamsport.  He was born August 5, 1947, in Philadelphia to Gustave and Sara (Ginsberg) Jackson.  Raised in Scranton, he graduated from Central High School.  On November 12, 1971, he married Mary Ann Mays with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.  Larry served his country in the US Army from July, 1966, to February 1969.  When the North Koreans captured the USS Pueblo, that service took him to Korea’s Demilitarized Zone, and later he worked for the military’s independent news source Stars and Stripes.

That experience led him to a career where he worked at United Press International and later as an Associate Editor for Parade Magazine, both in New York City.  When Larry moved south, he became the City Editor of the Knoxville News Sentinel and held that position for many years.  He and his wife owned and operated different businesses through the years.  He served his community in Knoxville working as a Knoxville County Deputy Sherriff until moving to Wellsboro in 2010 to care for family.

Ida L. Ordway, 90, of Andover, died on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Jones Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born June 21, 1934, in Bingham, PA, the daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Barlow) Crance. On September 20, 1953, in Belmont, NY she married Franklin Ordway, who predeceased her. 

Ida was raised in Pennsylvania, and graduated from the one room schoolhouse of Shongo, NY. She first entered the workforce sewing elastic onto women’s panties at a factory in Hornell, NY. She took time from employment to raise her five children, before working for Jones Memorial Hospital’s purchasing department, and retiring from their kitchen staff. Outside of work, she loved to crochet, was an expert puzzler, and watched Westerns on TV. She was reserved and was most content spending time with her family. 

Carla Marie Fritzinger of Doe Run, entered eternal rest on May 19, 2025, at her residence the age of 64. She was born on January 16, 1961, in Coudersport, Pennsylvania.

Carla is survived by her loving mother, Diane Cornelius; her devoted children, Eric (Suzanne) Fritzinger, Alisha (Bryan) Bubb, and Kinley (Zachary Tharp) Wilkerson; her cherished grandchildren, Adrian Fritzinger, Kylie Keener, Maya Bubb, and McKenzi Bubb; her sisters, Tina (Curt) Fullmer and Margaret Cornelius; her niece, Christina Fullmer; and her nephews, Alex Meeks and Curtis Fullmer, Jr. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. Carla was preceded in death by her father, Jim Cornelius.

Carla graduated from Austin High School in Austin, Pennsylvania, in 1977. She began her career with the Pennsylvania State Forestry’s Young Adult Conservation Corps (YACC) and later worked in retail for many years. In recent years, she worked in the dietary department at Ashbrook Assisted Living, where she especially enjoyed interacting with the residents and found the work deeply rewarding.

Martha J. “Marty” Moore, 76, of Aiken, passed away Wednesday May 21, 2025, at the Olean General Hospital.

Born September 27, 1948, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Ira L. and Julia L. (Toth) Veite.

Marty worked for many years at Zippo Manufacturing.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandbabies. She enjoyed reading The Holy Bible, and she loved our Lord Jesus, her Savior.

Richard T. Glover “Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather & Lifelong Friend”

Richard T. Glover, of Austin, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.

A lifelong resident of Barnett Lane, Austin, Richard’s steady presence, kind heart, and strong family ties made him a cornerstone of his community and a blessing to all who knew him.Born on August 26, 1947, in Austin, PA, he was the son of Ray and Priscilla Peno. Richard lived a life grounded in love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He was married to his beloved wife Nancy for 50 wonderful years, celebrating their anniversary every September 21st since 1974. Together, they built a home full of laughter, family traditions, and unwavering support.

Sandra Lee “Sandy” Snyder, 82, of 185 Center Street, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Monday, May 19, 2025 at Penn Highlands Elk following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 7, 1943, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Guy Kenneth and Margaret Ann Hackett Green.  She was a lifelong resident of St. Marys, and worked throughout her life in the Powdered Metal industry, retiring from Windfall Products in 2005.

Calvin L. Grabofski, 94, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of Lady Lake, FL, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 with his family by his side at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Nadine Kathrine Ordway, 87, of Whitesville, went to be home with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She was born January 5, 1938, in North Tonawanda, the daughter of the late Jack and Lyda (Turner) Waugaman. 

Nadine was raised in North Tonawanda and graduated from North Tonawanda High School. She was the Director of the Whitesville Public Library for 31 years. She was a member of the Living Hope Center in Whitesville, life member of the Whitesville Ladie Auxiliary, and in earlier years she was an active volunteer at the Whitesville Central School; she enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, word searches and backgammon. 

Laurie Senn Sagerman, 70, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a brief illness. Born March 6, 1955, in Buffalo, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Marcia (Shearer) Senn. On December 28, 1990, in Williamsville, she married the love of her life, Gary R. Sagerman, who survives.

Laurie was a graduate of Williamsville High School and dedicated her life to caring for others. With her natural warmth, she worked as a caregiver for many years, focusing on hospice, where her grace and empathy touched countless lives.
