On Monday, May 22, 2023, Patrick Hartnett, born on June 20, 1943, passed away at the age of 79. 

Pat will be remembered by his wife, Christine Hartnett, his daughter, Heather Hartnett and her husband, Michael Duffy. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA., at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Stephen Schreiber, Pastor, officiating.

Grace E. Tripodi, 89, of Ridgmont Personal Care, Ridgway and formerly of 5529 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Johnsonburg, PA passed away early Sunday morning, May 21, 2022 at Ridgmont following a brief illness.

She was born in St. Marys, PA a daughter to the late Albert Dippold and Myrna Trumble. On October 28, 1950 in Sacred Heart Church, St. Marys, she married F. Pete Tripodi. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2018.

Growing up in St. Marys, Grace attended St. Marys Schools. She had lived most of her life in Johnsonburg, moving there in 1955. Grace was a member of Holy Rosary Church,  loved spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino. She had worked at Stackpole in St. Marys for over 25 years.

 Grace is survived by her children, Thomas Tripodi of Ridgway, Donna Tripodi of Ridgway, David Tripodi of Ridgway, Chris Tripodi and his wife Beverly of New Castle, PA and Gina, Mrs. Tom Steudler of Johnsonburg, her grandchildren, Shawn Hanes and his fiancé Rhianon Doran, Rick Tripodi and his wife Michelle, Donna, Mrs. Forrest Hart, Gary Hanes-Tripodi and his wife Jasmine, Dan Hanes and Nikki Tripodi, her great-grandchildren, Racquel Tripodi, Frankie Tripodi, Ricky Tripodi, Graydon Hart, Jaxson Hart, Sami Hanes, Christian Hanes, Alexis Carnovale and August Tripodi and her great-great-grandchildren, Asher Hanes and Gianni and Gemma Scida. She is also survived by a brothers George Dippold of Johnsonburg and Albert Dippold and his wife Diane of Emporium and sisters Charlene, Mrs. Elwin Carr of St. Mary and Myrna Mrs. David Anderson of Elbon, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Grace is predeceased by a brother Gary Dippold and sisters Marlene and Susan Dippold.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service for Grace E. Tripodi to be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg on Thursday June 1, 2023 at 10:30 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg as officiant. The family will be receiving friends from 9 to 10:30 on Thursday morning. Interment will be private.

Ronald U. Ginther, 74, of W. Theresia Road, St. Marys, PA passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, May 19, 2023.

He was born on March 24, 1949 in St. Marys, a son of the late Urban and Alice Filling Ginther.
On June 3, 1978, he married Debra Dziuba Ginther, who survives. Together they shared more than 44 years of marriage.

Ron was a graduate of St. Marys High School, and then earned his Master’s Degree from Toccoa Falls College. Over the years, he worked as a meat cutter, as well as for UPS. He was an avid fisherman who never turned down the chance to go fishing, something he greatly enjoyed with his sons. He also loved Ham radio, and watching various sports on tv. He was a caring husband and father who always enjoyed conversing with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by 2 children; Jason Ginther and Matt Ginther, both of St. Marys. He is also survived by two siblings; Wayne (Flora) Ginther of St. Marys and Cindy (Don) Wingard of Marion Center, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jo (Salter) Ginther, by four daughters; Brenda, Rhonda, Nancy, and Tracey, and by a sister; Joy Ginther.

Funeral Services for Ronald U. Ginther will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Elk Baptist Church, 191 Ford Road, St. Marys, PA 15857. Burial will follow in Earlyville Cemetery in Kersey.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Walter J. “Walt/Wally” Donachy, 74, of 141 Queens Road, Saint Marys, PA passed away at home on Friday, May 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy and hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born on June 13, 1948, in Saint Marys, son of the late Gerald and Marjorie (Caskey) Donachy, Sr.

Walt is survived by his wife of over 52 wonderful years, Jeanette (Baumer). They were married on October 24, 1970, in Saint Marys.

Walt is also survived by two children, Nicole Donachy of Rocky River, Ohio and Rebecca (Donachy) Terwilliger of Saint Marys, and two grandchildren, Cameron Terwilliger and Nico Terwilliger. Also survived by his twin sister; Barbara Secco, sisters; Geraldine (Ken) Vogt and Diane Frederick, three brothers; Paul (Shirley) Donachy, Tom (Theresa) Donachy, and Gerald Donachy, Jr., sister-in-law; Judy Donachy, and brother-in-law; Mike Cesa, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law; David Terwilliger, brother; Kenneth Donachy, sister; Karen (Donachy) Cesa, and nephews; Kenneth (Butch) Donachy, Michael Cesa, and Robert Scone.

Walt was a graduate of Saint Marys Area High School, Class of 1967. Walt served in the United States Army, and was in Long Binh, Vietnam from 1968-1969.

Walt was active with Queen of the World Parish, serving at different times as an usher at Mass, volunteer with the annual festival, and running the monthly bingo.

Walt was passionate about the Sportmen’s Club and competing in trap and skeet, and was actively involved in educating and instructing youth teams. Walt also enjoyed many other activities during his lifetime, including playing the drums in a local band, serving as a Boy Scout leader, going to camp with family and friends, listening to music, playing the drums and guitar, playing cards, and playing golf. Additionally, Walt enjoyed going to the Green Lite to spend time with friends.

Walt was a member of the KFC (4th Degree), CMF, Saint Marys Legion, Eagles, PFL, Elk’s, and the Moose.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Walter J. Donachy will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as celebrant.
Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at the Queen of the World Church on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 10:15 AM until the time of the Mass.

Eli Richard COATS, 41, of Goleta, CA, died Sunday, May 7, 2023. 

Born June 3, 1981, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Guy R. and Christine Sherwood Coats.  He was married to the former Amy Armstrong, who survives. 

A graduate of Wellsville High School, he earned a degree from Houghton College.  Eli was employed by CITIC in California. 

Surviving besides his wife, Amy, are:  a son, Conor Coats;  his mother, Christine Coats of Hallsport;  a brother Jesse (Gillian) Coats of Dalton;  a sister, Laura (Jed) Barnes of Mount Upton;  several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his father;  and his maternal and paternal grandparents.  

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023 in The Presbyterian Church of Wellsville, 68 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY 14895.  Burial will be in Hallsport Union Cemetery.

  Brenda Lee Garrigues, 64, of Welsh Street, Kane, PA passed away Thursday (May 18, 2023) at UPMC Hamot.

    Born May 10, 1959, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Leroy N. and Gertrude L. (Hayduk) Fox.  On May 12, 1995, in Bullhead City, Arizona, she married Robert C. Garrigues who survives.

    Brenda attended Kane Schools and was a homemaker.

    Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, James M. Lopez of Hampton, VA and John S. Pennell.

    In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Fox.

    Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
