Kevin C. Allen

Kevin C. Allen, 69, of Irvine, PA, passed away on Monday, April 8^th, 2024, in the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House.

Kevin was born January 28, 1955, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Claud and Marquerite (Brown) Allen. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Michele Massa Allen, whom he married on July 10, 1976. He is also survived by his Son and daughter-in-law, Chad, and Sierra Allen and their two daughters, Ella, age 10, and Maggie, age 7. Kevin and Michele could always be seen together enjoying the same activities and making lasting, loving memories together.

Kevin had many in laws that were like siblings to him and shared so many memories with: Toni (Chuck) Loomis, Sam (Gayle) Massa, Pete (Laurie) Massa, Renee (Skip) Sperry, Anne (Martin) Rich and many nieces and nephews.

Kevin was employed with the National Forge and Ellwood National Forge for 43 years. He made some wonderful lifelong friends through work.

Port Allegany–Charles “Sonny” Nathanial Olmstead, 84, of Port Allegany, PA passed away on April 8, 2024, at Olean General Hospital, from a short illness.

Alice L. (Hepler) Deter, age 91, of Wellsboro, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024.  She was born on August 8, 1932 in Ringgold, PA, a daughter of the late Carl and Aldine (Powell) Hepler and was the loving wife of Francis “Frank” Deter, Jr. for 65 years. 

She was a retired manager for the Fairfax County Virginia Library Administration and was a member of the Wellsboro United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed Fly Fishing with Frank and traveling with friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She dearly loved her rural home near Wellsboro, PA. 

Lennie J. “Red” BURROUS, 75, of Round O, SC, died Saturday, April 6, 2024. 

Born October 7, 1948, in West Branch Township, Galeton, PA, he was the son of Lester Judson and Virginia M. Knickerbocker Burrous.  

A graduate of Galeton Area High School, he attended National Hardwood Lumber Association Inspector Training School in Memphis, TN and was employed in the lumber business his entire working career.  

                                      Carl Wolf

Carl E. Wolf, 89, of Erie, PA, and formerly of North Warren, PA, died on Monday April 8, 2024, at his residence. 

He was born in Erie, PA, on November 22, 1934, the son of the late, Emil H. and Irene (Wagner) Wolf.

Carl attended St. John Elementary School, Cathedral Prep, and a graduate of Gannon University. He was drafted into the US Army in 1958 and served for two years.

Carl was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church and volunteered with their soup kitchen.  He was a CCD teacher, lector, and Eucharistic minister.  He was a member of the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department, Warren County Historical Society, Warren County Art Museum, DANK (German American Society), and a 4^th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Carl was also an avid photographer and enjoyed researching family genealogy.

William E. Miller                        “beloved storyteller”

CUBA, NY—William E. “Bill” Miller, 97, of Cuba, NY passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, after a short illness, in the care of his loving daughter, Kay Reynolds.

Born on Thursday, December 30, 1926 in Olean, Bill was the eldest son of Edwin and Beatrice Jordan Miller. He graduated from Portville High School.

On December 20, 1947, he married Nancy Wagner, who passed away on January 6, 2008. He was a talented storyteller with a larger-than-life personality. He was first a self-employed farmer, starting while he was still in high school and never completely gave up this occupation. He was employed by the former Gramco Feed Company and the former Line Material in Olean. He later sold insurance for John Hancock Life Insurance Company. He lastly was employed as a successful outside sales representative for Kraft Foods until he retired after 25 years of service.

During World War II, Bill was to be called to duty, but during a visit from the military it was decided that his time would better serve his country on the farm. He proudly helped all his children raise and sell their own herd of cattle to fund their further educations. Bill also hatched, raised, transported, and sold thousands of chickens in a partnership with his brother, Richard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed taking family fishing vacations in Canada. He owned and piloted his own airplanes. He very much enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren compete in a variety of sports, and was a fan of the Buffalo Bills. He was a member of Portville Lodge #579 F. & A.M.

William J. “Willie” Boroch, age 68, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. 

He was born on July 28, 1955 in Wellsboro, PA a son of the late Joseph and Ann Marie (Banik) Boroch. 

He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and trapping.  He was the former owner of Smokey’s and the Redwood Inn of Wellsboro, PA  where he was known as a great cook and carpenter. 

He is survived by a sister: Jackie (Arnie) Werts of Lancaster, PA. 

He was predeceased by a sister: JoAnn Boroch and a brother: Michael Boroch.
