Galeton’s June Weather Report

This year, June was another cool, wet month until the final week, when record-breaking temperatures hit Galeton and the eastern U.S. The sunny, hot days arrived just in time to celebrate the 250th event. We had a very hard storm on the 13th as a cold front passed.
Rainfall this June was 4.80″. Last year the reading was 4.00″
The rainfall and melted snow for the six months (January through June) was 21.18″ this is 7″ above the normal amount.
Needless to say, the moisture is keeping the grass green and growing. The mowers and lawn tractors are keeping the lawns and fields looking as nice as golf courses.
