McKEAN COUNTY YOUTH ART EXHIBITION OPENS JUNE 5 AT PITT-BRADFORD

BRADFORD, Pa. — The inaugural McKean County Youth Art Exhibition will open June 5 at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, showcasing the creativity and talent of young artists from across McKean County.
The exhibition, a collaborative project between Leadership McKean and Pitt-Bradford Arts, received 40 submissions from youth artists representing communities throughout the county. Artwork in a variety of mediums will be displayed in the KOA Art Gallery in Blaisdell Hall on the Pitt-Bradford campus.
An opening reception will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5, and is free and open to the public. Awards for selected works will be presented during the reception.
The exhibition is supported through sponsorships from the Allegany National Forest Visitors Bureau and the Alleghany Bradford Corp., whose contributions helped provide awards and support for participating student artists.
“We are excited to celebrate the artistic talent and creativity of youth throughout McKean County,” said Courtney Mealy, director of arts programming at Pitt-Bradford. “This exhibition provides an opportunity for young artists to share their work with the community while encouraging continued engagement in the arts.”
The exhibition will remain on view through June 10 in the KOA Art Gallery, located in Blaisdell Hall on the Pitt-Bradford campus. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
