Kenneth C. “Kenny” Gregory, 86, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at his home.

He was born on March 4, 1940 in St. Marys, a son of the late Urban and Alvina Hoffman Gregory.

Kenny was a graduate of Central High School and served his country with honor in the United States Navy and carried that same spirit of service, humility, and faith throughout every chapter of his life. A deeply devoted and faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he dedicated countless hours to the parish he loved, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, lending his voice to the church choir, and helping to shape young hearts and minds through Faith Formation classes. His faith was not simply something he practiced-it was the foundation by which he lived, finding great meaning and purpose in serving in his church.

For many years, he lived and worked in Buffalo, New York, working at AM and A’s Department Store before returning to the area in 1999, where he continued a life rooted in service, reflection, and devotion. He extended his compassion beyond church walls through his involvement in prison ministry, believing deeply in mercy, dignity, and the importance of reaching others with kindness and understanding.

Outside of his ministry, he found joy in life’s quieter moments-playing the piano, preparing meals for those he loved, reading, tending to his flowers and yard, and engaging in thoughtful conversation. Deeply religious and introspective, he was a man of profound thought whose gentle wisdom, steadfast faith, and servant’s heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Kenny is survived by three siblings; Gilbert “Gibby” Gregory, William Gregory, and Irene Gregory, all of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was followed in death by his sister; RoseMarie Gregory who passing occurred just one day after his own. He was also preceded in death by five siblings; Richard Gregory, Alice (Charles) Dollinger, Patricia (Ronald) Rollick, Lillian (Ferdie) Haller, and Monica (Paul) Werner.

A Mass of Christian Burial for both Kenneth C. Gregory and RoseMarie Gregory will be celebrated on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Marys Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Thomas Curry, OSB, as celebrant.

Military Honors will be accorded for Kenny by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation for both Kenny and Tootsie will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.

Frederick G. Salerno, 74, of Bolivar Drive, Bradford, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, May 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born December 30, 1951, in Bradford, he was one of three children born to the late Bruno F. and Adele M. (Guelfi) Salerno. He was a proud 1969 graduate of Bradford High School.

Fred developed a love for automobiles at an early age. He worked at Rink Brothers, Clayt’s Auto Shop, and Fairway Ford before spending many years at Barrett’s Auto Body, where he remained until his retirement in 2023. As a young man, he enjoyed building cars and trucks and racing them on local mud tracks and drag strips throughout the region.

In addition to his work in the auto body industry, Fred was a talented carpenter. He spent countless evenings and weekends building and remodeling homes, creating beautiful kitchen cabinets, and helping family, friends, and neighbors with projects of all kinds. He was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Fred enjoyed baking, bowling with the Thursday Night League at Byllye Lanes, and camping with his family. Some of his happiest moments were spent teaching his granddaughters how to bake and sharing time with those he loved. He was well liked by nearly everyone who knew him and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. His kindness, humor, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all, Fred cherished his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life.

Surviving are his daughter, Casey Baer, of Bradford; his son, Scott (Kasi) Salerno, of Bradford; the mother of his children, Cathy (Chiarenza) Salerno, of Bradford; five grandchildren, Winnie Baer, MiaLynn Salerno, Hannah Skaggs, Lacey Cressley, and Rylee Cahill; two great-grandchildren, Finnigan Cressley and Fischer Cressley; his sister, Mary Ann (Joseph) Sczudlo, of Fletcher, North Carolina; his brother, Michael (Stacie) Salerno, of Bradford; his uncles, James Guelfi, of Bradford, and John (Mary Lynn) Salerno, of Warren, along with two nieces and two nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Henry “Hank” Guelfi.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, Bradford. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Early June in-person and telephonic public input hearings scheduled in Cambria, Allegheny and Westmoreland counties

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) will hold a series of in-person and telephonic hearings to gather public input on the proposed rate increase request by Peoples Natural Gas Company LLC (Peoples Gas), which provides natural gas distribution service to approximately 700,000 customers across Southwestern Pennsylvania.

On March 27, 2026, Peoples Gas filed a request to increase annual operating revenues for natural gas distribution service by approximately $163.2 million (13.8%).  On April 16, 2026, the PUC voted to suspend and investigate the company’s request which as proposed, would increase the average bill for a residential customer using 86 Mcf per year of natural gas from $122.20 per month to $138.23 per month (13.1%).

Port Allegany – Barbara J. VanSickles, 82, of Port Allegany passed away Friday (May 22, 2026) at Sena Kean Manor, Smethport PA unexpectedly. She was born August 7, 1943, in Denison, TX, the daughter of Ted Leroy Farmer and Esther G. Jacks and was the step-daughter of Paul Petteys. She was first married to Donald L. Black and later married Kenneth F. VanSickles on August 8, 1981, in Wrights, PA.

Mrs. VanSickles worked at Jaguar Jeans Company in Smethport in her 20s. While her children were young, she spent most of her time tending to her family’s needs until they were school age, at which point she went to work at the Port Allegany school cafeteria. In retirement, Barb also worked as a bus driver for Culver’s bus garage, where she enjoyed transporting school children.

She was an active member of the Senior Center of Port Allegany and the VFW Auxiliary. One of her favorite things to do was to play BINGO and visit with her friends at the Senior Center.

She is survived by:

  – Two daughters: Patricia (Lloyd) Williams of Eldred, PA, and Karen (David) Hobbs of Port Allegany, PA.
  – Two sons: Donald (Theresa) Black of Lima, NY, and Billy Jack VanSickles of Port Allegany, PA.
  – Grandchildren: Keith (Ashley Long) Homell, Chasiti Homell, Darin (Tarra) Kisko, and Cory (Tori Windsor) Kisko.
  – Several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
  – Two brothers: Teddy Wayne Sharp of Alabama and Eugene Jones of Utah.
  – One sister: Mary Farrell of Duke Center, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lawrence Jacks, daughter-in-law Laura Black, and a granddaughter Erin Black.

Following Barbara’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Port Allegany Senior Center.

OLEAN, NY — The Olean General Hospital (OGH) Auxiliary proudly concluded its annual Flags of Honor display, recognizing military veterans past and present through a tribute supported by members of the community.

Displayed on the front lawn of Olean General Hospital, a Kaleida Health facility, the American flags served as a visible symbol of gratitude and remembrance throughout Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day. Community members purchased flags in honor or memory of veterans, creating a meaningful tribute to service, sacrifice and patriotism.

BRADFORD, Pa (May 21, 2026)— Beacon Light Behavioral Health System, Beacon Light Adult Residential Services and Journey Health System, held their annual board and donor appreciation event with nearly 60 people on May 21 at the Pennhills Club in Bradford. Agency leaders thanked board members for volunteering, along with the donors in the community for providing philanthropic support toward the agency’s mission.

The program commenced with a prayer by Father Leo Gallina. Joseph Yaros, Journey Health System’s Board Chair, delivered a warm welcome message, followed by an introduction of all of the Board members. Their Boards’ combined total of 335 years of service was applauded.
