Rainbow Corner Preschool Celebrates Zoo Days

Bradford, PA — [May 8, 2025] — Rainbow Corner Preschool, operated by CARE for Children, celebrated Zoo Days this week, featuring a visit from the Erie Traveling Zoo and two evenings of hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programming for preschoolers and their families.
The preschool hosted STEAM Family Nights on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, engaging children and their families in creative, zoo-themed projects and experiments. The sessions promoted interactive learning while encouraging scientific curiosity and teamwork.
The week concluded with a visit from the Erie Traveling Zoo on Thursday, led by zoo outreach specialists and volunteers. The program was based on The Animal Bop series by Jan Ormerod, allowing children to connect literature to real-life experiences. Preschoolers listened to the story and then met animal visitors, including Pip, a chinchilla, and Henry, a lesser Madagascar hedgehog tenrec. The Traveling Zoo experience helps children go beyond the pages of a book, offering a chance to see, hear, and touch animals and artifacts while learning in an engaging and memorable way.
