PUC Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Settlement with UGI – Gas Division
Agreement Centers on the Company’s Alleged Failure to Properly Notify Customers Prior to Termination of Residential Gas Service in 2022, 2023
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today moved to seek public comment on a proposed settlement with UGI Utilities Inc. – Gas Division (UGI) related to the company’s failure to properly notify customers prior to the termination of residential gas service in 2022 and 2023.
The Commission voted 5-0 to seek comment on a Joint Petition for Approval of Settlement proposed by the PUC’s independent Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement (I&E) and UGI. This matter concerns UGI’s failure to comply with the PUC’s regulations at Chapter 56 involving the personal customer contact requirement prior to termination of residential gas service.
The proposed settlement will be published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, which will mark the start of a 25-day public comment period regarding the settlement. Full instructions for submitting public comment will be provided when the proposed settlement is published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
