Bryan and Kohlson Uhl with red foxTyler Fitch with his three sons and their gray fox.
Johnsonburg, Pa.: Young Kohlson Uhl proudly hauled a red fox off the truck tailgate and ran it over to the weigh station at the Rolfe Beagle Club. He already knew the routine and spewed out answers to the questions he knew we were going to ask, “My Dad shot this red fox at 4:00 Saturday morning. We were hunting public lands in Elk County. My Dad used an electronic call and he shoots a .223 rifle!” Kohlson was out of breath because he had spit all his words out at once. Bryan and Kohlson’s male red fox weighed in at 12.2#. Congratulations, Bryan and Kohlson Uhl. We love to see families hunting together.
Shortly later, Tyler Fitch showed up with his 10.8# female gray fox, and three young sons, Anthony, Cooper, and Chase. Anthony did the honors and hauled the gray fox over to the weigh station. “My Dad missed the other one,” he volunteered. Tyler harvested his gray fox on public lands in Warren County near 7:30 pm on Saturday. He used an electronic call and shoots a 12-gauge. Anthony volunteered again, “I get to go after I have one more birthday.” Tyler and Anthony will make a good predator hunting father-son duo.
