David L. DeLullo, Jr., 70, of Silver Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 23, 2024, with his family by his side. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.

Barbara J. “Barb” Brennen, 76, of 135 Reserve Road, St. Marys, passed away on Monday evening, April 22, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her four daughters and loving husband, following a three-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Barb was born March 21, 1948, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Wilfred J. “Biff” and Alberta M. “Birdie” Emmert Hoffman.

On August 23, 1969 in Queen of the World Church, she married Bradley C. “Brad” Brennen, her high school sweetheart.  They were blessed to know each other most of their lives and to share 54 years of marriage.

Barb was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and graduated from Elk County Christian High School, Class of 1966, where she was Senior Class Secretary.

Mary S. Kostyack, 81, of Barnes, PA., died Tuesday morning, April 23, 2024, at Penn Highlands of Dubois, PA., after an extended illness.  She was born November 24, 1942, in Warren, PA.  Mary was the daughter of Harry and Eleanor Carlett O’Donnell.  She has resided in Barnes, PA., for the past 22 years.  Mary was a member of the Sheffield Senior Center and Sheffield Rod & Gun Club.  She enjoyed crafting, and time spent with her family, especially during the holidays.

Spring is here. The days are getting longer, temperatures are rising, and the birds are singing. The cold, inclement weather we’re used to in the winter causes many of us to decrease our activity and stay indoors. Though this sounds cozy and is a better choice than walking on slippery surfaces and chancing a fall, inactivity can lead to aches and pain in our lower limbs and feet. The decreased activity causes our muscles to weaken which can increase our risk of foot and ankle injuries, especially as we head back outside and increase our activity levels. As we transition from fluffy boots to stylish sandals, it’s important to keep our feet and ankles happy and free from injury.

At 1:30 PM on Tuesday, Gemania Fire Dept. was dispatched to West Branch Township for a working barn fire.

The entry fee for adults for the 33rd Annual Upper Pine Creek Trout Tournament is $25 through next Wednesday, May 1 and $30 from Thursday, May 2 to the end of the tournament on Sunday, May 19. The entry fee for youths under 16 stays at $15.

Sponsorships of fish prizes begin at $25 and may be indicated on the registration form.

The two-day tournament, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon Snowmobile Club, is on Saturday, May 18 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 19 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. along a 13-mile stretch of Pine Creek between the Mill Street Bridge in Galeton Borough and the Ansonia Bridge on Colton Road in Shippen Township.

In-person registration and derby badge pickup will be open at the clubhouse on Route 6 on Friday, May 17 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On April 23, at 7:32 am Olean City Fire Dept. was dispatched to 121 Fulton St. for a fully involved structure fire. Allegany , Weston Mills, and Portville Fire Dept.s were also dispatched

Thank you for the flowers, cards, thoughts and prayers sent my way during my recent hospitalization.  They were much appreciated and a great comfort to me.

The Junior Class of Port Allegany High School has announced the 2024 Prom Court as follows:  (pictured front row, left to right) Jennifer Baxter, Miska Young, Julia Postlewait, Henry Troupe, Kayleigha Dowell, Lily Babcock, Amber Funk; (back) Henry Kisler, Peyton Stiles and Levi Wilfong.   

The prom, a gift from the Junior Class to the Seniors, will be held at the Roulette Fire Hall from 7:00 p, m, – 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.  The crowning will take place at 7:30 p.m. Parents may attend the crowning, arriving after 7:15 and leaving by 7:45 p.m.   The theme for this year’s event is Midnight.  Prom Advisor is Mindy Bernardi.  

The Port Allegany High School Baseball Boosters sponsored Senior Day 2024 prior to the matchup between the Bradford Owls and the Port Allegany Gators.  The seniors – Isaac Barber, Henry Troupe and Aiden Smith are pictured with their parents and coaches following the ceremony.  Pictured (left to right):  Coach Jamie Moses, Coach Blaine Moses, Coach Jeff Barber, Isaac Barber, Kristi Barber, Terrie Austin, Henry Troupe, Aiden Smith, Michelle Smith, Head Coach Rick Veilleux and Coach Ron Daniels.  The Gators celebrated Senior Day with a win over the Owls.  Missing from the photo is Colton Crowe who was competing with the Gator Track Team at the Slippery Rock Invitational.
