PITT-BRADFORD ARTS KICKS OFF SEASON WITH PHOTO EXHIBIT, DANCE AND MUSIC FAVORITES
BRADFORD, Pa. — The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s arts performances during the fall semester will range from classic to innovative genres such as a multimedia performance, hybrid folk music duo and virtual reality art exhibition.
The year begins in familiar territory with Pitt-Bradford: The Early Years, a photographic exhibition of the university’s early years in honor of its 60th anniversary year. The exhibition is a collaborative campus event featuring pictures and artifacts from past faculty, staff, alumni and friends will be on display in the KOA Art Gallery in Blaisdell Hall from Sept. 5 through Oct. 6. The gallery, found in Blaisdell Hall, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
An opening reception for Pitt-Bradford: The Early Years will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 23 as part of Alumni and Family Weekend activities on campus. All gallery events are open to the public and free of charge.

CRCF to host Cattaraugus Gives Link and Learn Seminar Seminar set for Friday, September 22
OLEAN, N.Y., August 31, 2023 — The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation will hold its final Nonprofit Link and Learn Seminar of the year, “Cattaraugus Gives by the Numbers,” led by Cattaraugus Gives coordinator and CRCF Executive Director on Friday, September 22.
The session will help nonprofit professionals and volunteers learn more about how to get the most out of their fundraising efforts during this year’s Cattaraugus Gives program through an analysis of fundraising data from the 2022 Cattaraugus Gives event.
Attendees will learn how to make data-informed decisions to plan best marketing and fundraising practices for this year’s Cattaraugus Gives event, a day of giving for the Cattaraugus County region, presented by CRCF since 2017.
The session will be held on September 22 from 12 – 1 p.m. at the Laine Place building, 301 North Union St. in the third-floor Carney Training Room.

Betty S. Witherell, 88, of Wetmore Trail in Kane, PA
Betty S. Witherell, 88, of Wetmore Trail in Kane, PA passed away Tuesday (Aug. 29) at her residence.
Born May 13, 1935 in Wilcox, she is the daughter of the late George and Ethel (Platt) Silvis. On Feb. 14, 1964, in Franklin, PA, she married Willard “Bill” Witherell, who preceded her in death.
Betty worked at the Carbon Co. Resistor division at Stackpole as a department group leader and as a quality control inspector for 30 years. She also worked as a geriatric nursing assistant at the Lutheran Home , a short order cook at Bob’s Trading Post and as a RSVP volunteer at the Salvation Army and Head Start. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, working in her flower gardens, singing and playing the organ and she loved spending time with her family, decorating for the holidays and going for car rides.
