Norlene Ives BROMLEY, 68, of Bradford, PA, died Wednesday, October 15, 2025 in Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY. Born July 12, 1957, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Norman L. and Lela Ellsworth Ives.
A graduate of Wellsville High School, she was employed by Cyberfresh Café at Alfred University and Burger King in Wellsville.
Surviving are: four children, Michael Bromley, Jason Bromley, Christopher Bromley, and Kalene Jones; grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Bonnie) Ives of Wellsville; nieces and nephews.
Waneta M. RANSOM, 97, of Genesee, PA, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025 in Wellsville Manor Care Center, Wellsville, NY. Born January 16, 1928, in Westfield, she was the daughter of Albert L. and Bessie Luther Robbins.
On October 12, 1949, in Harrison Valley, she married John R. Ransom, who predeceased her on March 27, 1997. She served as custodian at the Genesee Fire Hall for many years. Waneta was a member of Genesee Township Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and a bowling league in Wellsville. Waneta attended the Genesee United Methodist, now Genesee Community Church.

District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that the Kane man charged with attempting to obtain child pornography through messages with an adult decoy working with a group called “814PredHunters” has pled guilty. During a plea hearing held at the McKean County Courthouse today, Jason GORRIE pled guilty to Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Child (commonly referred to as Child Pornography) and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility – both felonies. GORRIE admitted to the facts that were discovered through the investigation by Kane Borough Officer-in-Charge Derrick Snyder as the facts were read into the record by the District Attorney during today’s hearing.
Specifically, GORRIE admitted that he was communicating with a person he thought was a 15 year old female and asked the alleged 15 year old female nine (9) times to send him nude photographs and to video-chat with him while she was in the shower and, therefore, nude. These acts constitute an attempt to possess child pornography. Additionally, GORRIE pled guilty to using a communication device to facilitate the crime of Attempted Sexual Abuse of Children.
Through messages, GORRIE communicated with the decoy with 814PredHunters who then gave the records to police. Officer-in-Charge Derrick Snyder, who handled the investigation, analyzed the records and located each communication that constituted the crimes charged.
As required by Pennsylvania law, GORRIE was ordered to undergo an evaluation by the Sexual Offender Board who has 90 days to complete the evaluation. Sentencing has been scheduled for March 5th. GORRIE remains incarcerated.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that a Bradford Area School District bus driver has been charged by City of Bradford Police. Sean WILLIAMS, of Duke Center, was charged after an investigation by police following a tip that WILLAMS was photographing or video-recording up the skirts of one or more minor females on the school bus for which WILLIAMS was a bus driver prior to the report.
Chief Michael Ward and School Resource Officer Anthony Lama are investigating the case and stress that this is a very active investigation. They urge the public to contact them if they have information on the case or are a victim. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are expected. Anyone with information should call 911 to reach an officer.
WILLIAMS is currently charged with Sexual Abuse of Children (Child Pornography), Attempted Sexual Abuse of Children (Child Pornography), Invasion of Privacy, Corruption of Minors, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Use of a Communication Device, and Unlawful Contact with a Minor.
WILLIAMS was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Engman and bail was set at $500,000. WILLIAMS was remanded to the McKean County Jail with central court scheduled for November 13th.

Bessie I. Buckingham, 90, a longtime resident of Austin, passed away with her loving family by her side in her home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, after a brief illness.

Diane C. Sundberg, 67, of Forest Ave., Kane, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh. Born Sept. 13, 1958, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of the late Dwight Carns and Mary Etta (Frampton) Orris. Diane was married to Robert “Rob” Sundberg, who survives her.
As a 1976 graduate of Freeport High School, Diane went on to graduate from Mount Aloysius College. Diane dedicated much of her career to helping others as an occupational therapist assistant with UPMC. Later in life, she worked as a reporter for several local newspapers and went on to become a published book author. Her lifelong love of reading and writing was reflected in her active participation in local book clubs.

They often referred to him as “one of the greatest rock vocalists of his generation”. Additionally, Rolling Stone recognized Cornell’s impact on the grunge and rock music scenes through his work with Soundgarden and Audioslave.
Anthony John DeBock, 74, of Bradford, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at his home.
He was born on December 8, 1950 in Sittard, Netherlands; a son of the late Jack and Mary DeBock.
He attended Otto Eldred schools.
On April 30, 1976 in the St. Bernard Catholic Church; he married Julie Romanelli who survives.
He was employed by the former Cooper Industries, Olean, NY for several years prior to his employment with Bradford Forest Products; where he worked for 20+ years until his retirement in 2020.

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a portion of Canoe Camp Creek Road (Route 2027) will be closed next week in Richmond Township, Tioga County, for a roadway maintenance project.
Between Monday, October 6, 2025, and Friday, October 10, 2025, Canoe Camp Creek Road will be closed at the intersection with West Gate Road while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew performs work on a 60-inch cross pipe. Work on the project includes excavation, lowering the gas line, resetting the cross pipe, and constructing a headwall.
A detour using South Main Street (Route 2005), East Hill Road (Route 2022), and Canoe Camp Creek Road, will be in place for the duration of the project.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution.

Businesses and organizations in Cameron County preparing for the holiday season. Cameron County Chamber of Commerce executive director Tina Solak says changes are in the air. The biggest change will be the addition of vendors to the parade night festivities. “The change means on Saturday activities will be centered on children” says Solak. December 6 will have breakfast with Santa and his reindeer and a story with an elf.
The season begins with the arrival of the Christmas tree in the town square. The tree has been donated by the Erik and Marilyn Erickson. Smoker Logging will cut and transport the tree November 15.
Daryl L. Stratton, 78, a life-long resident of Wellsboro, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, at his residence. He was the dedicated and loving only child of Ralph and Margaret Stratton. After his father died when Daryl was 18, he took care of his mother until she passed away at age 94.
Portville- Stanley Miller “Loving Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather”
Stanley Miller of Coon Hollow Road, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the home of his daughter, Janet (Larry) Shrauger.
Stanley was born March 28, 1929, in Black Springs, Arkansas and was the son of Steward and Mary L. Alexander Miller. On August 3, 1952, at the Olean First Baptist Church he married Betty Jane Hardwood who predeceased him on January 12, 2021.
Smethport – Steven L. Faes, 74, of Crosby, passed away Monday (November 3, 2025) at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 17, 1951 in Port Allegany, the son of Lawrence “Cino” and Elizabeth “Betty” (Ross) Faes. On September 6, 1974, in St. Elizabeth Church, Smethport, PA, he married Bonnie M. Dille, who survives.
Steve was a 1969 graduate of Smethport Area High School.
He was a shift supervisor employed by International Waxes, Inc., of Farmers Valley, retiring in 2007.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA, Eldred Conservation Club and Keating Sportsman’s Club.
Twila Lyon Grimm 97, of Emporium, PA, passed away Monday afternoon, November 3, 2025, at Guy and Mary Felt Manor in Emporium. Twila Coletta Lyon was born February 23, 1928, on Moore Hill, Emporium, the daughter of the late R. Paul and Susie Skillman Lyon.
On December 31, 1994, in Emporium, Twila married Homer Grimm and they shared 11 happy years together.
Twila was a graduate of Emporium High School and went on to attend Lycoming College, and Lock Haven College, where she majored in biology and minored in Spanish. She earned her master’s degree in education from Penn State University. She devoted over 35 years to teaching in the Cameron County School System, including three memorable years in a two-room schoolhouse in Sterling Run. Most of her teaching years were spent with fourth-grade students whom she delighted each spring with her well-known end-of-school horseback riding celebration.
Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Lycoming Regional Police Department, the PA DUI Association, Geisinger Jersey Shore, Citizens Hose Company, the Lycoming County Coroner, and other safety partners held a media event today to highlight the dangers of impaired driving through the holiday season.
From Wednesday, November 19 through the end of the year, state and local law enforcement will participate in “Operation Safe Holiday”, the holiday season impaired driving campaign. High visibility enforcement efforts such as roving DUI patrols will be conducted to reduce the number of crashes and fatalities involving an impaired driver. As the night before Thanksgiving is one of the biggest drinking days of the year, there is typically a significant increase in impaired driving crashes surrounding the holiday.
Cuba– Larry K. Runyan “Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather”
Larry K. Runyan, of 60 Spring Street, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, November 3, 2025, after a brief illness.
Born on October 23, 1942, in Cuba, NY, he was the son of the late John A. and Winnifred E. (Lutzie) Runyan. On August 25, 1962, in Cuba, he married the love of his life, Karen E. Carpenter, who predeceased him on August 17, 2005. They shared 43 wonderful years together.
