The Anita Herbert, MD, Occupational Health Center continues to serve employers throughout McKean County and the surrounding region by providing comprehensive occupational health services designed to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes. From pre-employment physicals and drug screening to OSHA compliance, respiratory fit testing and employee wellness, the center helps organizations maintain a healthy workforce while meeting workplace safety requirements.

The center’s services include:

·         Employment testing: routine testing, electrocardiograms, hearing tests and heavy metals testing

·         Immunizations and testing: Hepatitis A and B vaccines, influenza vaccines, tuberculin skin tests and Tdap immunizations

·         Respirator surveillance: pulmonary function testing, respirator and mask fit testing, asbestos clearance, OSHA respirator reviews, chest X-rays and silica testing

·         Employee wellness: health assessments to identify risk factors that may affect employee health and productivity, with follow-up counseling as appropriate

Another local employer, Dresser Utility Solutions, has relied on the occupational health services for more than two decades, making the center a longstanding part of the company’s employee health and safety program.

Over the years, Dresser has used the occupational health team for a wide variety of employee services, including its drug and Medical Review Officer programs, pre-employment physicals and drug screens, baseline audiograms, return-to-work physicals, medical clearances, annual medical clearances for welders, vaccinations and titers, as well as evaluation and treatment related to workplace injuries.

The occupational health team has six employees including the employee health team and had more than 6,675 visits in 2025. Occupational health has a managing provider, Wendy Dennis, PA-C, who has been in the department since 2017.
