Lonnie L. Cornelius, 53, of Bradford, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.
She was born on June 13, 1972 in Greensburg, the daughter of Shirley Linter Klinek of Bradford and the late Nelson Klinek.
She was a 1990 graduate of the Bradford Area High School and she earned her Associate’s degree in Interior Design from the Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media, Pittsburgh.
On October 6, 2007 in Hocking Hills, OH, she married Douglas J. Cornelius who survives.
Mary Lou Andrus, 96, passed away at Guy and Mary Felt Manor in Emporium on April 30, 2026. She was born in St. Marys, PA on September 19, 1929, the daughter of William and Marcella Bille Dippold.
She was one of thirteen children. On August 13, 1955, she married Lawrence Andrus, who passed away in 1999.
She is survived by four children: Jeff (Kim) Andrus, Wanda (Todd) Smith, Scott (Cathy) Andrus, and Kevin (Lori Zimmer) Andrus, all of Emporium, PA; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Carol Carr and Molly Glatt, both of St. Marys, PA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by ten of her siblings.As a young woman, she helped with her younger siblings and nieces.
She also worked at Stackpole Carbon until she and Larry moved to Truman to raise their family. Mary Lou raised her kids in St. Mark Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She remained a member of St. Mark until her passing. After raising their four children, she went to work as a housekeeper for the St. Mark Church rectory. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Joseph R. Mangione Jr., 79, of West Corydon St., Bradford, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born on October 30, 1946, in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Joseph R. and Blanche (Miguel) Mangione Sr.
On May 25, 1966, Joe enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He served until his honorable discharge on May 24, 1968. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Viet-Nam Service Medal, and the Viet-Nam Campaign Medal.
On May 11, 1973, in Buffalo, NY, he married Christine T. (Szewczyk) Mangione who survives.
He formerly owned and operated Star Lanes for several years. Joe had a dream of owning a store to take care of friends and neighbors in Bradford, for 45 years he owned and operated Mastercraft Auto Parts & Glass Company servicing the community and making lifetime relationships over the years.
Joe was involved in many things, he started backup the Soapbox Derby in Bradford. His shop Mastercraft Auto Parts & Glass, sponsored teams in golf league, softball leagues and bowling leagues. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and softball. Joe was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Christine of nearly 53 years, are two daughters, Cindy (Donald) Smith, of Bradford, and Charlene Mangione, of Bradford, two sons, Christopher Mangione, of Bradford and Dillon Luksch, of Bradford, two sisters, Joanne Reback and Christine Eddington, two brothers, John (Alison) Mangione and Raymond Mangione, two grandchildren, Danielle (Doug) Fargo and Tyler (Ray Yankey) Smith, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gloria Saad, and one brother, Kenneth Mangione.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Ave., from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 6:00 pm with Fr. John Jacquel, Pastor, St. Bernard Church, officiating.
Beverly A. Miller, 84, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Select Speciality Hospital in Erie.
Born on September 1, 1941, in Clermont, she was the daughter of the late Lelia and Gerald Slade. Beverly attended Clermont School, beginning her education in a one-room schoolhouse, and later Smethport Schools.
Throughout her life, Beverly was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. She spent many years cleaning homes for several families before later working at the McKean County Courthouse and the Office of Aging until her retirement.
Beverly was married to her beloved husband, Charles E. Miller Sr., whom she married in Farmers Valley on November 20, 1960.
She found great joy in gardening, honey and watching birds at her feeder, and she especially cherished time spent with her family, whom she lovingly referred to as her “babies.” She enjoyed riding with her husband in their convertible and Harley Davidson.
She is survived by her husband Charles, her children: Carol (Dr. Paul) Kirsch, Tina (Jim Dobstaff) Miller and Dennis (Vera) Miller.
She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and was expecting, one in June and one in August, whom she was eagerly anticipating meeting, and one sister Mary Pinchock, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Charles E. Miller, Jr. and Steven A. Miller, two sisters, Maxine McFall and Shirley Taylor and four brothers, Melvin Slade, Dan Slade, Donny Slade and Bob Swanson.
Beverly will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to her family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty J. BAER, 74, of Port Allegany, PA, died Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.
A gathering to celebrate Betty’s life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460, 35 Pearl Street, Port Allegany, PA 16743 from 11:00 AM — 2:00 PM. Born May 7, 1951, in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Harland W. and Leola K. Hardes Mericle.
A 1969 graduate of Port Allegany High School, she was employed by Pittsburgh Corning Corp., Port Allegany. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary #6391, Port Allegany and Port Allegany Lodge #460, Loyal Order of the Moose.
She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, watching every game. Over the years, she enjoyed shooting darts, putting puzzles together, crosswords, collecting carousel horses, and seeing her friends at the Park Hotel. Betty was passionate about her care for others. She spent time in nursing school and later in life served as a caregiver for a family friend until his death. She cared deeply for those she loved.
Surviving are: two daughters, Sue (Mike) Speed and Millie (Chris) Knauer; six granddaughters, Desiree, Jessica, Shanna, Vanessa, Brooke, and Bryana; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Gay Mericle Glenn; nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Karen Walker.

Eileen L. Mecca, 69, of Grove Street, Johnsonburg, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Penn Highlands Dubois following a very short illness.
She was born on January 14, 1957 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Raymond and Dolores Davis Cook.
Eileen was a 1975 graduate of Cameron County High School and worked at numerous powdered metal companies over the years. Eileen was a woman who found her greatest peace beneath open skies-whether tending to her garden, camping under the stars, or simply soaking in the beauty of the outdoors she loved so dearly. Her heart belonged to her family and to the many animals she adored, each one a reflection of her deep compassion.
Outspoken and spirited, she never hesitated to speak her mind, yet she carried a remarkable ability to see the good in everyone she met. Her quick wit and love of joking brought laughter to those around her, and she will be fondly remembered as “Boo-Boo Grandma,” a title she wore with pride and joy. She also cherished the memories of her time traveling with the carnival, a chapter of her life that spoke to her adventurous soul and love for the road. Her presence was vibrant, her love unwavering, and her memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and warmth she leaves behind.
She is survived by three children; Teresa (Jared) Elmquist of Wilcox, Carisa (Troy) Burke of Weedville, and Raymond (Lenaya) Kunes; of Brockport, and by her eight beloved grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Terry Gabor of Johnsonburg, and by five siblings; Michael (Kathy) Cook of Somerset, Patty Bankovich of St. Marys, Victoria (Bill) Nussbaum of St. Marys, Anna Maria Farrell of Johnsonburg, and Laura Cook of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her daughter; Shannon Mecca in 2012.

Jacqueline A. Rees, 78, of Smethport, passed away Tuesday (April 28, 2026) at her home.
She was born February 27, 1948 in Olean, NY, the daughter of Robert and Joanne (Bell) Bradt. On May 8, 1971, in Eldred, PA, she married William D. Rees, who died February 4, 2026.
Jackie was a 1966 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and attended St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Olean, NY, where she received her LPN, and then the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford where she received her RN.
Mrs. Rees was a Registered Nurse, employed by Sena Kean Manor of Smethport for 20 years, retiring in 2003.
She and her husband enjoyed boating on Chautauqua Lake with their family. Just recently, she received a Florence Nightingale pinning by UPMC Home Healthcare of Central PA & Family Hospice.

Evelyn L. “Penny” Neumann, 74, of Derrick Road, Bradford, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Olean General Hospital.
Penny was born in Greensburg, on December 3, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Gess) Ruble. She was a 1969 graduate of Greensburg-Salem High School in Greensburg
For nearly 53 years, she was married to Wolfgang Henry Neumann, who survives.
Shortly after high school Penny began a 47-year career at Behrenberg Glass Company where she retired in 2016, as the Plant Manager.
Surviving is her husband Henry, one son, Robert (Dee) Neumann, one granddaughter, Autumn Neumann, all of Bradford, and one brother, Robert D. Ruble, of Delmont, PA
Penny was preceded in death by her parents.

Beverly A. MANNING, 85, of Genesee, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, April 27, 2026 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Born June 4, 1940, in Rathbone, NY, she was the daughter of Hugh C. and Emma Hallett McConnell.
A 1961 graduate of Galeton Area High School, she was employed as a teacher’s aide at Valley Christian Academy, a cook by the Long Horn Restaurant in Westfield and Penn-York Camp in Ulysses, and owned and operated Five M Clothing Outlet Store in Genesee. On August 2, 1961, in Harrison Valley, she married Ronald C. Manning, who predeceased her on June 11, 2024. Beverly was a member of the Wellsville Full Gospel Church and a former member of West Bingham Community Church.
Surviving are: three children, Jamie Kevin (Dianne) Manning of Ulysses, Christine (Nelson) Martin of Westfield, and William C. (Robin) Manning of Genesee; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Perry of Watkins Glen; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two great-granddaughters, Megan Martin and O’rianna J. Angeline M. “Angie” Feldbauer, of Sunrise Road, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at UPMC Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh.
She was born September 21, 1947 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Louis and Joanne Iorfido Votano.
Angie was a graduate of Johnsonburg, High School, class of 1965. She lived life to the fullest and there was never a dull moment. Her energy matched her personality that drew people in from all walks of life. She loved the simple pleasures-browsing her favorite shops, watching her QVC/ HSN and planning her next trip with her daughter, Jenny. Her and Ken would hoop it up square dancing or catching a good movie. Rarely one to stay home for long, she cherished being out and about, loved bumming around with family and friends, sharing laughter, and making memories wherever she went. She loved animals and her beloved dog Mia was a constant companion and source of comfort and happiness. She also delighted in dining out, especially her treasured Sunday breakfast outings with Ken, which became a weekly tradition filled with excitement and conversation. Her vibrant spirit, love of people, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
George A. Nero, 85, a lifelong resident of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born on December 28, 1940, in Brockway, PA, a son of the late Anthony and Ella Squires Nero.
On October 29, 1960, he married Karen Anderson Nero, who survives. For 65 beautiful years, they moved through life hand in hand – rarely missing a polka dance where their laughter, steady rhythm, and enduring love became a familiar and cherished sight for all to see.
George was a proud graduate of Central High School, class of 1959, and was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church. He was a hardworking and dedicated businessman who proudly owned and operated General Fire Protection company for many years, earning the respect of all who knew him. Outside of work, he found his greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures-working his beloved bird dogs, polka dancing hand in hand with his wife, and spending quiet days at camp surrounded by the people he loved most. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
In addition to his wife and dancing partner of more than 65 years, Karen Anderson Nero, he is survived by three children; Laurel (Steve) Leuschel, Toni (Brian) Mosebarger, Andy (Lynette Meyer) Nero, all of St. Marys; and by his nine beloved grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Junette Weisner and Lyn Schrubb, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two brothers; Raymond and Dale Nero, and by three sisters; Dolly Yetzer, Eileen Rimer, and Priscilla Mortland. He was the last member of his immediate family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for George A. Nero will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Ignatius Camello, OSB, as celebrant.

ROULETTE, PA—Tonya I. Finster, 65, of Roulette, passed away with her loving husband by her side on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport, after a short illness.
Born on Wednesday, August 24, 1960 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Samuel I. and Kathryn Pease Duell. On October 16, 1981 in Coudersport, she married George A. Finster, who survives.
Tonya was a graduate of Coudersport Area High School, Class of 1979. She attended Williamsport Community College. She was employed as a home health aide for many years.
Tonya enjoyed writing, drawing and reading. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, George; her father, Samuel, of Colonial Heights, VA; a daughter, Amber (Austin) Moritz of Eldred; a granddaughter, Harley Moritz; a grandson, Christian Moritz; a sister, Trula Hollywood of Athens, PA; two brothers, Winn Scott (Hazel) Duell of Roulette and Randall C. Duell; and several nieces and nephews.

PALMYRA, NY—Mr. Claire F. Bassage, 98, of Palmyra, formerly of Clara, PA and Eldred, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026 in DeMay Living Center, Newark, NY.
Born on Sunday, January 22, 1928 in Walworth, NY, he was a son of Loyde and Leona Ikewood Bassage. On March 26, 1949 in Walworth, he married Hazel S. Schlesing, who passed away on March 24, 2021.
Claire was a graduate of Walworth High School, Class of 1945. He was employed by Wayne Central School District, Wayne County, NY, retiring as a bus mechanic after 30 years of service. He was also a self-employed farmer while residing in Walworth. Claire and his wife relocated to Clara, PA in 1984 where he farmed there for 30 years. He moved to Eldred, PA in 2014. He and his wife moved to Palmyra, NY in 2017.
In his early years while residing in Walworth, Claire was a member of the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Surviving are four children, Cynthia L. (David) Lang of Culpeper, VA, Bruce L. Bassage of Palmyra, Pamela A. Bassage of Ontario, NY, and Judith L. Bassage of Virginia; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a brother, George L. (Gweneth) Bassage of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.

Matthew J. STAHLEY, 49, of Ulysses, PA, died Thursday, April 23, 2026 in UPMC Williamsport. Born January 9, 1977, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Gary B. and Jamie L. Piperato Stahley.
Matthew was a pure soul who brought joy to everyone he met. Born with Down syndrome, he worked hard to overcome his challenges always with a smile on his face. He rode his bike like a whirlwind, won medals in special Olympics for sprinting, and was an ambassador of goodwill at his sibling’s ball games.
Matt greeted everyone, strangers and friends alike, with a smile and outstretched hand or a hug. His greatest talent was making people smile and laugh. He enjoyed scary movies, music, and dogs. Matt was proud to be an uncle to his nieces and nephews and enjoyed going to their sporting events; he was always their biggest fan. Anyone who ever met Matt has a fond memory or a funny story to share about him. We were blessed to have him in our family and will miss him greatly.

Smethport – Anita L. Benjamin, 86, of Smethport, passed away Saturday (April 25, 2026) surrounded by her family, at Sena Kean Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.
She was born March 14, 1940 in East Smethport, the daughter of Cecil and Crystabel (Smith) Grinolds. On July 8, 1960, in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Smethport, she married Ronald C. “Skip” Benjamin, who died August 29, 2012.
Anita was a graduate of Smethport Area High School and was a homemaker tending to the needs of her family.
Anita and her husband Skip enjoyed camping and were camp hosts for the PA Park System. They had hosted Pymatuning State Park as well as Chapman State Park for several years.

Janet E. Resch, 78, formerly of Hickory Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at Quality Life Services-Sugar Creek in Worthington, PA.
She was born August 27, 1947, in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late Harold and Genevieve Swanson Conroy.
On June 24, 1967, at Sacred Heart Church, she married the love of her life, Glenn Resch, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2017. Together, they shared fifty years of love, laughter, and marriage.
She was a woman whose energy and creativity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. A dedicated and accomplished businesswoman, she proudly held the title of number one seller for Avon for many years, a testament to her warmth, drive, and genuine connection with people. Her creative spirit shined through her work, including the memorable ads she crafted for WKBI Radio, where her ideas and personality brought messages to life. As the owner of Inches Away Diet Center, she welcomed countless individuals through her doors-many of whom fondly remember the comforting aroma of her ever-brewing flavored coffee, a signature touch that made everyone feel at home. She had a gift for making holidays magical, filling them with thoughtful details and joy, and she was rarely without a song, as music was a constant in her life. Above all, she had a way of making everyone feel welcome-her home, like her heart, was always open, and those who entered were met with warmth, laughter, and a true sense of belonging.

Dayle M. Dunford Claywell Calhoun “loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt”
Dayle M. Dunford Claywell Calhoun, 73, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Erie, passed away after suffering a stroke in July of 2025 and battling dementia on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport PA.
Born on July 26, 1952 in Erie PA, she was the daughter of James L. Dunford, Jr. and Dorothy M. Wronek Dunford Liebel. On October 16, 1970 in Erie, she married Ernest Calhoun, who survives. She remarried him on May 20, 2013..
Dayle graduated from East High School in 1970 and later in life acquired a Medical Transcription certification. She held several jobs in Erie, doing data entry for Hamot Hospital records department, REGIS, and cafeteria lady for Clark and Rolling Ridge Elementary while also raising her two daughters Teena Hamilton and Beth Carnell. She was also very involved in their Girl Scout troupe activities, often being the troupe leader.
She moved to Show Low, Arizona and married Terri Claywell, for a period of years. While in Arizona, she did medical transcription and floor coordination for Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center. She then moved back to Pennsylvania and lived with her mother Dorothy in Pittsburgh for a few years, ending up back in Erie where her relationship with Ernest began anew. Once reunited with Ernest, she moved to Shinglehouse where she remained to the last of her days. While in Pittsburgh and Erie, she worked at UPMC Pittsburgh, and Select Specialty hospitals doing floor coordination.
Dayle loved doing crafts (macrame, needlepoint, cross-stitch), camping, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time in the woods/natural world. She cherished her time with her grandchildren whenever she could see them. She was always happy to get involved in an adventure. She was a fan of sports even though she did not participate. She loved to watch her girls compete in sports and also sports on TV like football, softball, and the Olympics. You would normally find her wearing some kind of Pittsburgh Steeler attire.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Dunford, Jr. and his wife Pearlie; her mother, Dorothy Liebel and her husband Raymond; a sister, Diane Dunford; and a granddaughter, Josephyn Tanner.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ernest Calhoun; her daughters, Teena (David) Hamilton and Beth (Mark) Carnell; three grandchildren, Matthew Hetrick, Jeffrey Hetrick, and Jacob Wisniewski; five siblings, Darlene (John) Williams, James (Pam) Dunford III, Joice (Bill) Viets, Mari McCullum, and Ray Liebel III; her god-daughter, Diane Ahlschlager; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no public visitation. Dayle’s celebration of life will be held privately.

COUDERSPORT, PA—Pamela A. “Pam” Ruppert, 67, of Coudersport, passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, after a long illness.

Port Allegany—Duane E. Gregg of Port Allegany passed away on Thursday, April 23, at Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness which he had endured with dignity, strength and unending optimism.
Born in Port Allegany on July 23, 1943, he was the son of Bert O. Gregg and Winifred June Gregg.
Duane graduated from Port Allegany High School in 1961 where he enjoyed and did well in sports. In 1965, he graduated from Penn State University where he later did graduate work. In 1965, he married Mary Lena Michelitsch, a fellow student at Port Allegany High School and Penn State, who survives. In August, 2025, the celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Duane and Mary taught for two years in Blossburg, PA before returning to their Alma Mater where he taught mathematics until his retirement in 1995. While in Blossburg, Duane served as Assistant Football coach and as coach of the Girls Junior Varsity Basketball team. At Port Allegany, he coached both the Girls and Boys Junior Varsity Basketball teams as well as serving as Assistant Track and Field coach. He had many fond memories of his teaching and coaching career.
Betty Niles departed her earthly home for her heavenly home on April 22, 2026. She was born on Sept. 30, 1924, the daughter of Alfred and Mildred (Goodwin) Hazelton.
Upon graduating from Wellsboro High School in 1942, she was employed as a secretary at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital, starting there the first day it opened. She later went to work as a legal secretary for George Linton, Tom Walrath, Sr., and the law firm of Spencer, Gleason and Hebe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon G. Niles in 2010 and her first husband Lee E. Benson in 1960, and infant son and an infant daughter, her sister Ruth Dinnison, her step father, Thomas P Meadows, step brothers: Harvey, George, and Morgan, half-brother James, step sister Azalee Mormor, and son-in-law Carlos Cubero.
She will be lovingly missed by son Robert (Cindy) Benson of Waikoloa, Hawaii; daughter Brenda (Mike) Smith of Wellsboro; stepdaughters Linda Cubero of Littlestown; Janet McDowell of West End, N.C.; and stepson William (Sue) Niles of Wellsboro; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
Betty lived a very interesting and happy life. She loved her family and her many friends and enjoyed taking care of her home. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wellsboro and an affiliate member of the Moorings Presbyterian Church in Naples, Florida.A memorial service will be held, Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church, 130 Main St., Wellsboro, PA 16901.
A private burial will be in Wellsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions in Betty’s name be made to First Presbyterian Church.

Franklin A. Green “beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother”
RICHBURG, NY—Franklin A. “Frank” Green, 79, a lifelong resident of Richburg, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, April 20, 2026, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, after a long illness.
Born on Saturday, July 27, 1946, in Olean, he was a son of Cecil and Edwina West Green. In 1967 he married Georgeann “Gay” Young, who survives.
He was a graduate of Richburg Central High School. Frank served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War on Mediterranean Cruises attaining the rank of Sergeant.

Mary Ann MAJOR, 85, of Pueblo West, CO, formerly of Lakeland, FL and Port Allegany, PA, died Saturday, April 18, 2026 in UCHealth Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo. She was born September 12, 1940, in Mills, PA. Raised in Harrison Valley, PA, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Freda Thompson Burrell.
A 1958 graduate of Northern Potter High School, she was employed by Ball Foster Glass Company in Port Allegany. She was a member of Free Life Chapel in Lakeland, FL and a follower of Turning Point with Dr David Jerimiah.
Mary Ann was very musical and played piano by ear. She and her mother would play duets on the piano and organ for hours. A social person, she played cards and bingo with friend groups all her life. She was an avid racing fan. Mary Ann had an exhaustive memory for people, places, and events that occurred in her life and was a great conversationalist. Mary Ann had an unbridled passion for giraffes, highlighted by a 2025 visit to TN to see Kipekee, the spotless giraffe before her own untimely passing.
Surviving are: three children, Linda (Gary) Suppa of Wausau, WI, Daniel (Suzanne) Lutinski of Blountville, TN, and James Lutinski of Pueblo West CO; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and cousins. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, David L. Hershour.

Sandy J. Heck, age 87, of Tioga, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Guthrie Corning Hospital in Corning, NY.
She was born on November 2, 1938, the daughter of Major William Grandin and Beverly (Palmeter) Neidlinger. Sandy was married to the late James R. Heck who passed away on June 24, 2001. She was a study hall monitor at Williamson High School and a telephone operator in Potter County in the 50s.
Sandy was a member of the Eastern Star in Knoxville, PA and the Potter County Anglers Club. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with her special friends, Norma Walters, Kay Hoag, and Pat Wilcox.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Julie Preston of Lawrenceville, PA; four sons, Michael (Patricia) Heck of Camden, TN, David (Tina) Heck of Tioga, PA, Brian (Melissa) Heck of Tioga, PA, and George (Teresa) Heck of Tioga, PA; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; a sister, Reba Pierce of Alleghany, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two brothers-in-law, Gene (Sharon) Heck of Knoxville, PA and Pete (Nancy) Heck of Knoxville, PA; and a sister-in-law, Sue Heck of Lawrenceville, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepfather, Floyd Neidlinger; a son-in-law, Keith Preston; a brother, Bill Grandin; and two sisters, Joy Pekarski and Charlene Meacham.
