John Ginkel, 85, of West Main St. Mt. Jewett, PA passed away Monday (April 3) at UPMC-Hamot.  He was born in Crown, PA on June 21, 1937, the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Horam).Ginkel.

John had worked his entire life, from the time he was a teenager until this past year as a logger.

He is survived by four sons, Eugene “Gino” (Lisa) Ginkel of Mt. Jewett, Steve (Julie) Ginkel of MN, Randy Ginkel of Clermont and John (Sally) Ginkel Jr. of Marshburg; three daughters, Anna (Jim) Arthurs of Mt. Jewett, Pam (Paul) Arthurs of Hazel Hurst and Melissa (Eric) Austin of Kushequa; one brother Jim (Shirley) Ginkel of Warren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, one daughter, Jane Ginkel and several siblings.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
