PUC Reminds Consumers of Upcoming Public Input Hearings on PPL Transmission Line Project in Luzerne County

In-person hearings scheduled for June 30 to gather public input on PPL proposals for transmission line siting and construction
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today reminded consumers and other concerned parties about two late-June public input hearings to gather feedback from customers and other concerned parties regarding a request for approval filed by PPL Electric Utilities Corporation (PPL).
PPL’s request for approval involves building approximately 1.1 miles of new double-circuit 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission taps to connect the existing Susquehanna-Harwood #1 and #2 230 kV transmission lines to the new Tomhicken 230 kV Switchyard that are respectively located in Hazle Township, Luzerne County.
The PUC public input hearings for this case will be held at the following times and location:
Tuesday, June 30, 2026
- Hearing #1 will begin at 1 p.m.
- Hearing #2 will begin at 6 p.m.
Both hearings will be held at the same location:
