Jo Ann Boller, 94, of Greenville, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away Tuesday, (January 6, 2026) at UPMC Horizon-Greenville, PA., after a brief illness. She was born April 27, 1931 in East Smethport, the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle (Lynde) Kearns.

She graduated from Smethport H.S. Class of 1950.,and was employed by Sylvania in Emporium, Pa. On June 24, 1954 she married Charles E. Wells, who passed away January 7, 1967. She married Charles F. Boller on June 21,1969 and they were married for 45 happy years. He passed away on August 14, 2014.

Jo Ann was a member of St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in Port Allegany from 1958 to 2013. She loved her church family and enjoyed being involved. She taught Sunday School, participated in the Soup Suppers, attended Bible Study and was a delegate to many diocesan conventions.

She also loved attending Trinity UMC with her husband, Chuck. On moving to Greenville she became a member of St. Clement’s Episcopal Church in Greenville.She was a member of the ECW in both Port Allegany and Greenville. For years, she was a member of the Republican Women’s Council and served as a Judge of Elections for Liberty Township for many years. She belonged to Friends of the S.W. Smith Memorial Library, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Port Allegany Women’s Club. Once at St. Paul’s Continuing Care Community, she volunteered to accompany nursing home residents to appointments and also worked in the Bistro coffee shop.

She and her husband, Chuck, loved singing in the Passion Play Choir in Coudersport. Jo Ann was a friendly and familiar face in Port Allegany as she was employed at DeMott’s Pharmacy.

She is survived by three daughters: Debra (James) Anderson of Ruston, LA, Julie (Jeffrey) James of Hermitage, PA, and Marcia (Sean) Reynolds of Glen Mills, PA, son-in-law Joseph Cuffari (Lori) of Millstone Twp, NJ, and one son, Paul (Sue) Boller of Kenneth City, FL.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who were the absolute joys of her life. Joshua (Randi) Anderson- Frazier, Norma Grace and Ansel. Maura (Phil) Dougherty- Donovan, Ross James, Lauren James, Hannah Cuffari and Paul Cuffari, Kyle (Rachel) Reynolds-Abigail. Scott (Sarah) Hayes- Elijah and Owen. Jo Ann also had 3 step grandchildren, Jerry, Joel and Elizabeth Anderson and 15 step great great grandchildren.She was honored to be God Mother to, her first niece,  Kristine Beckman Meisel, deceased,  Christopher White, Erie, PA. and Justin Lloyd, New Port Richey, FL.  JoAnn (Nama) and Chuck (Papa) traveled many miles to spend time with their grandchildren. Their home was open each summer for their grandchildren to enjoy summer vacations in Port Allegany and swimming lessons at the community pool. Nama was famous for her Nama Jogie Applesauce, and it was a favorite at every meal. 

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one daughter, Lori Cuffari, a sister, Betty K. Beckman, brother-in-law, Leland Beckman, and son-in-law, Jim Anderson.

Jo Ann was an avid reader and later listened to books on tape supplied by the Blind Association. She was a member of several card clubs, played dominoes, and enjoyed meeting new friends on her WebTV Christian Chatroom.She went to water aerobics with girlfriends at the YMCA and enjoyed going to the Port Fitness Center with her husband, Chuck.

When she moved away from Port she kept in touch with friends via Facebook and made many new friends at St. Paul’s Continuing Care Community. She was truly the salt of the earth, known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She had the “gift of gab” and could strike up conversations with anyone leaving them smiling and feeling at ease. Her love for music was an integral part of her personality. She enjoyed a variety of musical genres and dancing to a few, too.  She was a loyal and caring friend and valued her relationships with others deeply. She enjoyed spending time with children and delighted in their playful behaviors. Throughout her life she loved many dogs, especially her last dog, her precious Molly.

Throughout her life she faced challenges with quiet determination, perseverance and love. Above all she was a loving mother/grandmother, whose family was the center of her world. Her abounding love, guidance, and fun loving spirit will be forever missed and deeply cherished.

A celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held in St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church. 116 Arnold Ave., Port Allegany, PA on Saturday, April 11th with visitation from 10:00AM – 11:00AM.                                                  

Funeral services will start at 11:00AM with Rev. Joanne Piatko, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany, PA.
