“Our historical society provides a valuable window into our past through multiple facilities it operates across the county,” Owlett said. “I am happy to see the Commonwealth supporting this important service to the community.”
The Tioga County Historical Society operates the Robinson House Museum and the Ladd Genealogical and Historical Research Library at 120 Main St. in Wellsboro, which is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., except for federal holidays. The historical society also operates the Tioga County Farm, Mine and Lumber Museum in Whitneyville, as well as the Osceola Blockhouse, an 1835 log house in Osceola Township.
The grant was awarded through PHMC’s Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program. The program provides general operating support to museums and official county historical societies that are not directly supported by other state agency operating support programs.
Introduction to Excel (Excel I) and Intermediate Excel (Excel II) Classes Scheduled
Unleash your productivity and take control of your data! Do you manage large sets of numbers, names, dates, or other pieces of information? If so, then you need to know how to create worksheets to manage, store, organize, and even analyze this information. Excel, Microsoft’s powerful spreadsheet software, is the most widely used program for these tasks, and most workplaces want new employees to have a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel.

Diana Marie (Dean) Smith, of Galeton, PA

Diana Marie (Dean) Smith, of Galeton, PA, born March 4, 1945 to Mary Jordan and Ronald Dean Sr., passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024.
Diana was born in Port Allegany, PA, where some of her most treasured memories were made in the garden with her Grandpa Fred. She was later raised on Germania Street in Galeton. Her childhood days were largely spent in nature marveling at the birds and playing down by the river with her best friend, Lucille. She kept that wild spirit into adulthood and never stopped finding beauty in the outdoors. She was married to, and divorced from, the late Roger Smith. Diana was, at heart, both fiercely independent and a steadfast caregiver, who loved spending time with others.
