Weekend of August 7^th

Program Title: Pennsylvania’s Elk Herd

Date: Friday, August 7^th

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: Campground Amphitheater

Description: Join educators from the Elk Country Visitors Center, to learn about all things related to elk! Habitat, diet, population status, research, and more. Feel free to bring snacks & a blanket!

Program Title: Birds & Boards: Wingspan Game

Date: Saturday, August 8^th

Time: 3:00 PM

Location: Environmental Learning Center

Description: Do you love to play board games? Are you a fan of learning about birds? Then this is the program for you! Join the park educator for a general overview of our local feathered friends followed by playing the board game, Wingspan. Open to families, adults, and children ages 12 and up – feel free to bring snacks & drinks!

Program Title: Birdsong Bingo

Date: Saturday, August 8^th

Time: 7:30 PM

Location: Campground Amphitheater

Description: This program will entail learning multiple calls of different songbirds that are common to this area, followed by a bingo game to test your memory!

In case of thunder, lightning, or extreme weather conditions, programs may be moved or cancelled.

Animal Science Program: Join us on Wednesday, August 12th, at 2:00 pm for an
Animal Science program brought to you by the Mobile Learning Labs of Alfred State College! Attendees will compare skeletal structures of multiple species and analyze how bone structure affects movement and behavior. Animal skulls and skeletons will be brought in for this lesson. We will then learn about owls and dissect owl pellets. This program is for ages 10 and up. Limited seating is available. Please call or stop in to sign up. 814-697-6691.

Page to Screen Club: Join us on Monday, August 31st, at 1:00 pm to discuss the book and film, “All the Light We Cannot See,” by Anthony Doerr. The library can provide books. This is an off-site library program. The location may change each month. Please ask the librarian for more information! The Book Discussion Group meets at the library on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 10:30 am. The date for this month is August 13th. All are invited to participate. Books are provided by the Potter-Tioga Library System.

Stitch Together: Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, needlework, and chatting while
you work? (Or chatting and not getting much of your project done?) Join us at the
library on Thursdays and Saturdays starting at 1:30 pm. The dates for this month are Thursday, August 6th & 20th, and Saturday, August 15th & 29th.
