Grace M. Yentzer, 97, of Port Allegany passed away in her home with her loving family by her side on Sunday, March 30, 2025, after a long illness.
Born on Tuesday, February 14, 1928, in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Fred and Hazel Wheeler Osborne. On May 10, 1961 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, she married Eugene A. Yentzer, who survives.

Penny A. Greene: Beloved Sister, Aunt, Friend
Penny A. Greene, 65, of 401 Fourth Ave., Olean, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 after a lengthy illness.
Born on May 25, 1959, in Cuba, she was a daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Jerolds) Greene.
She was a graduate of Cuba Central School and the BOCES nursing program. She later received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Penny spent her life caring for others for over 30 years as a nurse. She was a cat lover and was always outgoing. She liked to crochet and knit.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba.
Christine Ann (Double) Michalski, 91, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Stratford CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard Catholic Church. Burial will be private.

On March 29, 2025, at approximately 1339 hours, City of Bradford Police responded to a domestic disturbance at 65 Hillside Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a male and female engaged in a altercation inside the residence.
The officers quickly intervened and separated the individuals involved, ensuring the situation was brought under control. During the investigation, it was determined that the female defendant, Jillian Troy, had sprayed the male victim with lighter fluid and attempted to ignite it with a lighter, stating her intention to set him on fire. Fortunately, the male victim was able to deflect the lighter from the defendant’s hands just prior to the police arrival.
Jillian Troy was taken into custody and subsequently arraigned by Magistrate Engman. She was remanded to McKean County Jail on $75,000 straight cash bail.
Preliminary hearings are scheduled in the matter. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
BRADFORD, Pa. – Another year means another novel for Dr. Nancy McCabe, director of the writing program at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
McCabe’s newest book, “Fires Burning Underground,” is written for children in grades 4-7, a group she has not written for before.
A book launch will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 8 in the Mukaiyama University Room of the Frame-Westerberg Commons. The event, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Friends of Hanley Library, the Bradford Area Public Library, the Spectrum Arts series and the Pitt-Bradford Division of Communication and the Arts.
Genevieve R. “Gen” Aikens, 82, of Emporium, PA passed away at St. Vincent Hospital, Erie, PA on Monday morning (March 31, 2025). She was born July 24, 1942 in Barnesboro, PA a daughter of the late W. Russell and Velma “Betty” Cressley Orner. On September 2, 1961 in Barnesboro, PA she married the late Albert Aikens, Sr.
She retired from GKN where she had worked for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Emporium Fire Departments Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
March 2025 was as usual an interesting March weather month. I will once again use the quote, “March is like a Model T Ford. Just enough spring to make your butt ache”. You have heard me say that often but it applies this year as well. Morning temperatures started off cold, 12 degrees on the 2nd. It warmed up for a warm morning on the 31st 53 degrees. Morning temperatures were mainly in the mid 20’s. Afternoon temperatures warmed up to the 60’s and 70’s on the last few days of the month.
Throughout the month we had some strong winds with damaging winds on the 6th and 7th. Many trees came down all over the area. Thousands lost electric power.Parts of Galeton were without electricity for 18 hours. I recorded damaging winds on 3 mornings. Two days thunder was heard. We had a trace of snow on the ground five days and fog three mornings.
This year we received 2.50″ of rainfall and .04″ of snow. Last year the readings were 3.1″ of rain and melted snow with a total snowfall of 3″. It was another dry month. There you have it!With the very warm and rain the last few days of the month the grass is starting to get green and some early flowers are coming out. Get the mowers out but keep the shovels ready too. You all know the common saying,”April showers bring May flowers.

Darlene E. MacDonald, 78, formerly of 65 Patterson Lane, Bradford, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at The Bradford Pavilion.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 9am to 10am at St. Bernard Church in Bradford. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 10am, with Fr. Ed Walk, as Celebrant officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Alice Mae Sayers, 97, of Bradford, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at the Evans Memorial United Methodist Church, 1447 South Avenue, Lewis Run, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12pm. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Frogtown.
David J. “Bimp” Malone
David J. “Bimp” Malone, 81, of Warren, PA, died early Sunday morning March 30, 2025, at the Warren Manor after a brief illness.
Bimp was born in Warren, PA on December 18, 1943, the son of the late Wallace B. and Dora Troutman Malone. He attended Warren Area High School and graduated in 1962.
Beverly A. Feldbauer, 72, of St. Marys, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 29, 2025, following a brave battle with cancer.
She was born on December 11, 1952 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Alvin and Alberta Schneider Wolfe.
On July 19, 1997, she married Thomas Feldbauer, who survives. Together, they shared more than 27 years of love, laughter, and marriage.
