Kids’ Nature Journaling Class Inspires Young Artists To Explore The Outdoors
Coudersport, PA ] — The Potter County Artisan Center invites local youth to discover the beauty of the natural world through art and observation in the upcoming Kids’ Nature Journaling class, held Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at the Artisan Center in Coudersport.
Led by an environmental educator from Lyman Run State Park, this indoor program encourages participants to observe nature closely, ask questions, and record their discoveries using words, pictures, and numbers in a personal journal. Students will spend time observing bird activity through a live bird feeder camera and then engage in guided journaling activities using natural materials brought into the studio.
Mt. Jewett Rotary Makes Cemetery Donation
The Mt Jewett Rotary Club welcomed guest speaker Russ Swanson, Nebo and Bridgeview Cemetery Board Member. Russ
provided an overview of cemetery operations, maintenance requirements, and upcoming projects. Russ has been integral to
keeping these historic cemeteries in tip-top shape for decades. Thanks to Russ and the entire cemetery board for all of their
hard work! At the conclusion of the meeting, the Club presented Russ with a one-thousand-dollar check to support the
ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the cemeteries. The Club has been a supporter of both cemeteries for many years.

October Star Awards Recognized at BRMC, OGH
BRADFORD, PA / OLEAN, NY – Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) and Olean General Hospital (OGH), Kaleida Health facilities, are proud to announce the winners of the 2025 October Star Awards. This month’s BRMC and OGH recipients were Joe Warner, PTA, and Katie Weaver, RN, respectively.
Joe Warner starting at BRMC in 2011 as a physical therapist assistant in the outpatient rehabilitation services. He was honored as the BRMC October Star Award recipient.

He was born October 6, 1962, in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, a son of Ilvia (Robles) Spooner of Emporium and the late John Erskine, Sr.
John attended Cameron County High School and is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for several years at Motor Coil Manufacturing in Emporium, PA, a bellhop at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City and later a salesman, selling telecommunication devices.

Christopher D. ANDERTON, 73, of Wellsville, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Born May 6, 1952, in Oil City, PA, he was the son of Alfred D. and Joan M. Barclay Anderton.
A 1971 graduate of Wellsville High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1971 — 1974. He graduated from Alfred State College in 1977. Chris was employed by Air Preheater Company in Wellsville as an Aftermarket Sales Representative.

Robert W. Strong formerly of Richburg and Bath NY passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the St. Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine.
Bob was born July 8, 1941 in Ohio. In July of 1986 in Wellsville, NY he married Teresita R. Rabacal who survives.
Bob was a salesman for Harley products throughout the US. He enjoyed riding his Harley Motorcycle.
Along with his loving wife Teresita, Bob is survived by; his nieces and nephews.
Robert Dauer Stackpole, 79, a resident of Jefferson Manor in Brookville
Robert Dauer Stackpole, 79, a resident of Jefferson Manor in Brookville, passed away October 17, 2025.
He was born August 14, 1946, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Harrison Clinton and Murial Beatrice Dauer Stackpole. Dauer was a graduate of Mercersburg Academy and continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh and pursued his post-graduate studies at Bucknell University. Following his years of schooling, Dauer was employed in the marketing department of Stackpole Carbon Company from 1972-1982.
On April 11, 1987, in St. Agnes Episcopal Church, he married Lucy Geiger Irvin, who survives. In addition to his wife, Dauer is survived by a daughter, Daisy Stackpole (Erik); a sister, Laurey Turner; and a brother, Scott Stackpole.

Conservation order lifted for Village of Fredonia Water Customers
The Village of Fredonia announced today that the water conservation order issued last week for customers served by the Village of Fredonia water supply has been lifted.
Village officials confirmed that the reservoir has recovered to normal operating levels, allowing water use to return to standard conditions.
“The Village would like to thank all affected water customers for their cooperation and patience while the conservation order was in effect,” said Mayor Michael Ferguson. “Community support was instrumental in helping the reservoir recover quickly.”
Residents may now resume normal water use.

Karen Irene Hulings Davidson, 75, of Ludlow, PA, formerly of Warren, PA, died on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in her home, after a courageous hard-fought battle with cancer.
She was born in Bradford on January 27, 1950, the daughter of the late Samuel and Geraldine Hawes Stein. Karen was a 1967 graduate of Bradford High School and received her bachelor’s degree in business from Houghton University. She worked for 25 years in the Human Resource Dept., at Warren General Hospital, and retired from Calvert-Pearson Insurance in 2022. In her earlier years, Karen taught Piyo classes in Warren and Sheffield. She enjoyed walking with her husband, Larry, cooking, baking, holidays, and most importantly, spending time with her loving family.
Tree Trimming Begins Monday on Route 405 in Point Township, Northumberland County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that preparations will begin next week for a roadway resurfacing and drainage improvement project Route 405 in Point Township, Northumberland County.
Between Monday, October 27, 2025, and Friday, October 31, 2025, the contractor will begin tree trimming between Eighth Street and Ferry Road. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained where work is being performed. Tree trimming will be performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Route 14 Bridge Replacement Project Continues in Trout Run, Lycoming County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised a bridge replacement project continues on Route 14 in Trout Run, Lycoming County.
Route 14 remains closed between the Route 15 north exit ramp (Exit 148) and Trout Run Mountain Road (Route 1002), while the contractor, Rylind Construction Company, Inc. continues construction of the bridge and realignment of Route 14.
This portion of Route 14 will remain closed through Tuesday, October 28. The following detours are in place.

Litter Pickup Next Week on Snake Road in Conyngham Township, Columbia County
Montoursville, PA – In an effort to improve our environment and clean up our local roadways, PennDOT maintenance crews will pick up litter next week along Snake Road (Route 3004) in Conyngham Township, Columbia County.
Crews will be working along Snake Road from the Northumberland County line to the intersection with Route 61 near Ashland. Litter cleanup will take place Monday, October 27, 2025, to Saturday, November 1, 2025, during daylight hours, weather permitting.
Most work will occur off the roadway with minimal impacts to traffic. Occasionally, motorists may encounter flaggers controlling traffic to allow equipment to enter the roadway.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, drive with caution, be alert for stopped or slow-moving vehicles, and watch for workers near the roadway.

Robert C. Tingley, Sr., 79, of Bradford, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at his home.
He was born on March 2, 1946 in Bradford; a son of the late Harold and Angeline Romano Tingley.
He was a 1964 graduate of the Bradford Area High School.
Bob was a longtime member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church where he was a member of the choir. He was a member of the Italian American Progressive Club and an avid bowler in his younger years. Over a thirty-eight year period he donated over 28 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross.

James F. GOTSHALL, 91, of Port Allegany, PA, passed Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in UPMC Williamsport. He was born November 21, 1933, in Buffalo, NY. On February 25, 1967, in Smethport, he married Kathryn M. Earle Olmstead, who survives.
A 1951 graduate of Port Allegany High School, he was employed by Ball-Foster Glass Container Co. in Port Allegany, retiring in 1999. Jim was a member of the First Church of God in Eldred and served as an officer of Glass, Molders, & Plastics International Union Local #54 for 33 years.
