Mt. Jewett Rotary Club Presents Fellowship Award
Mt. Jewett Rotary Club Foundation Chair, Dave Seipp presented Rotarians Hannah Ross and Will Keesler with the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Paul Harris once said, “Perhaps dreaming is not so bad if one dreams good dreams and makes them come true.” In Rotary, we make dreams a reality through extraordinary projects and activities here at home and around the world. These projects would not be possible without the generous support of Rotarians and friends of our foundation.
The Rotary Foundation recognizes those individuals who contribute one-thousand dollars or more to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or approved Foundation Grants by inducting them into the Paul Harris Society. In his remarks Dave stated he was honored to present the Paul Harris award to two very deserving young people for “whom I have great respect.” Dave has done an outstanding job as Foundation Chair and was recently awarded a Paul Harris plus Four for his continued commitment to Rotary and helping others.

David L. Marconi, 76, Of 549 Brusselles Street, St. Marys
David L. Marconi, 76, of 549 Brusselles Street, St. Marys passed away peacefully with his family by his side Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Highland View.
He was born, February 20, 1949, in St. Marys, son of the late Victor E. and Mary Margaret Henkel Marconi. David was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1967, and employed with PennDot for thirty-five years.
On November 21, 1970, in Sacred Heart Church, David married Cynthia Walsh, who survives. They were blessed to share fifty-four years of marriage.
The Potter County Farmers Market
The Potter County Farmers Market will be outdoors AT OUR NEW LOCATION on the Courthouse grounds, at the corner and across the street from the square, every Friday (weather permitting) from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. JoAnn Stauffer, 85, of 384 W. Creek Road, St. Marys
JoAnn Stauffer, 85, of 384 W. Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at her residence.
She was born October 9, 1940, daughter of the late Herbert L. and Cecelia Garbic Schloder. JoAnn was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1958 and spent the majority of the years between 1958 and 1999 with Deposit Bank as head teller.
On September 17, 1960, in Queen of the World Church, JoAnn married Andrew “Andy” W. Stauffer, who survives. They were blessed to share sixty-five years of marriage.
Allegany County Democrats: Serving Our Community
ALMOND, NY — Since 2021, the Allegany County Democratic Committee has cleaned up a section of State Rt. 21 in Almond, NY as part of the NYS Department of Transportation’s “Adopt-a-Highway” program.
This year’s fall clean-up took place on Monday, October 13th. Volunteers collected numerous bags of trash, giving the roadway a much-improved appearance. This project is just one of the many ways local Democrats “Serve our Community.”
ACDC’s designated section incudes State Rt. 21 in Almond and the section of Karr Valley Rd. that leads to/from the expressway entrance. It was specifically requested by the Committee because of its importance as a gateway to our county. This stretch of highway is heavily used by I-86 travelers on their way to the Alfred campuses or to recreational opportunities elsewhere in the area. Volunteers from the Democratic Committee clean this section twice a year.

Eva J. Curci, 97, A Resident Of Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home
0Eva J. Curci, 97, a resident of Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, passed away peacefully Monday, October 13, 2025.
She was born July 24, 1928, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Ernest and Olive Tyler Johnson. She was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate St. Marys High School, Class of 1948, and was a dedicated employee for a couple of manufacturing companies in town.
On August 12, 1949, in Ridgway, Eva married the late Mario J. Curci, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2001.
Eva is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Chase (Robert) of Erie and Sylvia Nunamaker (Don) of St. Marys; one son, John Curci of Sherman, TX; four grandchildren: Ben and Justin Gerg and Tim and Adam Curci; and three great-grandchildren: Ava, Noah, and Bella.
PITT-BRADFORD TO OFFER FAFSA COMPLETION NIGHTS
BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Financial Aid staff will offer three free FAFSA-completion workshops in October and November.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20, the Financial Aid staff will offer a workshop to help high school seniors and their families fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form in room 105 of Kane Area High School.
A second completion event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13 in Suite F at the Warren-Forest Higher Education Council in Warren. Pre-registration is needed for this event by calling 814-723-3222.

He was born May 28, 1963, in DuBois, PA, a son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth C. “Betsy” Mann.
Scott was a 1982 graduate of Cameron County High School and went on to earn an associate degree in mechanics from Williamsport Area Community College. He was employed at Motor Coils (Wabtec) for over 35 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.

PHEASANT SEASON IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Saturday, Oct. 11 marks the start of the junior pheasant season, and the statewide season follows close behind, opening on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Pennsylvania’s pheasant hunters this year also will enjoy more Sunday hunting opportunities than ever before.
The junior pheasant season, which runs Oct. 11-18, includes Sunday, Oct. 12. The statewide pheasant season from Oct. 25-Nov. 28 includes all Sundays within that range – Oct. 26, Nov. 2, Nov. 9, Nov. 16, and Nov. 23. Within state parks that allow pheasant hunting, Sunday pheasant hunting is allowed only on Nov. 16 and Nov. 23.

She was born on July 19 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy Seiz. Lucinda grew up in Little Marsh, PA, and graduated from Cowanesque Valley High School in 1969.

Born August 31, 1936, in New Brighton, he was a son of the late James Edward and Virginia (Heatherton) Hamilton.
Bob attended Beaver Falls High School. On September 23, 1953, he enlisted into the United States Army, he served until he finished his term in the service.
In 1991, at the McKean County Courthouse, he married Anna Lea (Wise) Hamilton, who survives.

Joanne M. LIMRICK, 87, Of Bradford, PA, Formerly Of Roulette And Shinglehouse
Joanne M. LIMRICK, 87, of Bradford, PA, formerly of Roulette and Shinglehouse, died Monday, October 13, 2025 in Bradford Manor surrounded by family. Born January 18, 1938, in Olean NY, she was the daughter of Victor and Mildred S. Bickford. She was adopted and raised by Ward and Cleva Parker Bickford.
On December 21, 1958, she married Kenneth L. “Dick” Limrick, who predeceased her on June 30, 1996. A graduate of Smethport High School, she was employed by Dairy Bar in Farmers Valley, drove a school bus, installed pavement with Pave N Save, and was a caregiver. Joanne was a member of the Roulette Chamber of Commerce. Joanne had a tenacious spirit and lived her life how she wanted regardless of what anyone had to say. She loved fishing, bird watching, and tinkering with things. Joanne often enjoyed old classic blue grass country music. She had an infectious laugh that will be greatly missed.

The Potter County Housing Authority is requesting bids from competent, qualified Contractors to plow and salt the following Housing owned projects in Potter County:
Redwood Village- 9 Penn Avenue, Galeton; Mountain View Apartments- 236 W. Main Street, Galeton; Ulysses Family Townhouses- 620-627 Academy and Center Streets, Ulysses and Honeoye Haven- 215 N. Union Street, Shinglehouse.
As an optional bid, please offer a per hour rate to 1. Remove snow from sidewalks, 2. Salt only wet/icy sidewalks, and/or 3. Remove snow and then salt sidewalks at Redwood Village, Honeoye Haven, Ulysses Family, and Mountain View projects. Sidewalk snow removal and/or salting will be completed during the time of each regular parking lot snow plowing. The Agency will provide the salt for the parking lots and sidewalks as needed. Contractors will contact PCHA Maintenance Staff for approval to perform needed services each time plowing or salting is required.

Belmont, NY – The Allegany County Board of Legislators accepted funding for Youth Sports and Youth Developmental Programing from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
Allegany County youth sports organizations have the opportunity to submit proposals for the reimbursement of certain expenses from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. Eligibility details and information on the application process may be found on the Allegany County website, Youth Bureau section: https://www.alleganyco.gov/departments/youth-bureau/. The application deadline is October 28, 2025. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Allegany County is also accepting proposals for the Youth Developmental Program. This is a change from years past as awards were based on historical data. This also is for the reimbursement of certain expenses from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Eligibility details and information on the application process may be found on the Allegany County Youth Bureau website. The application deadline is October 28, 2025.
