Beverly A Plowman, 84, of Lambert Drive, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, with her family by her side at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born August 17, 1941, in Olean NY, she was a daughter of the late Earl W. and Laura E (Simmons) Anderson.
Bev was a 1959 graduate of Olean High School and a 1961 graduate of the Bradford Hospital School of Nursing.
The City of Bradford Police Department is announcing the arrest of an individual for multiple Protection Order Violations.
Between October 21, 2025, and November 21, 2025, the City of Bradford Police Department investigated three separate incidents involving violations of a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order.
The adult female victim provided a substantial amount of evidence, including communications, that demonstrated the defendant’s non-compliance with the “no contact” provision of the PFA. On November 21, 2025, City of Bradford Police officers apprehended the defendant, identified as Densmore, during a traffic stop of his tractor-trailer on State Route 219.
Densmore was subsequently arraigned by Magistrate Luther, who set bail for each violation at $2,500, $5,000, and $5,000, respectively. Densmore was then remanded to McKean County Jail.
Hearings for these matters are scheduled, and the City of Bradford Police Department will continue to work to ensure the safety and well-being of the victim and the community.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Patricia M. Morris of Iroquois Drive passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Olean General Hospital.
Patricia was born June 26, 1969 in Erie, PA and was the daughter of Powell A. and Ruth J. Schlindwein Brown Sr.
Patricia loved reading and traveling but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and talking with them.
Patricia is survived by; 3 children, Kenneth Morris Jr., Michele (Kendra) Dewey-Wright, and Joshua (Katlyne) Morris; her expected grandson, Charlie Morris; 4 siblings, Alice (Paul) Niebaer, Cheryl (Tom Skarupski) Adams, Powell A. (Deborah) Brown, Jr., and Robert Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

Dixie L. Sutherland, 95, of Bradford, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at the Pavilion at BRMC. She was born on August 23, 1930 in Imperial, NE; the daughter of the late Spencer and Agatha Davis Cross. She was a 1948 graduate of the Chase County High School, Imperial, NE. On September 19, 1958 in Hastings, NE; she married Everett “Ed” Sutherland, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 2, 2018.
Dixie was a thirty-five-year volunteer with the Bradford Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons, Bill (Linda) Bredengerd of Bradford, Matthew (Elaine) Bredengerd of Augusta, GA and Everett J. (Laurie) Sutherland of Narragansett, RI; one daughter, Teri Cannon of Bradford; one sister-in-law, Donna Tenhundfeld of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
OLEAN, N.Y., November 25 – The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation is gearing up for its annual day of giving, Cattaraugus Gives, with a prize pool exceeding $29,000.
Scheduled for December 2, Cattaraugus Gives has become a vital initiative to encourage community-wide support for local nonprofits. This year’s prize pool – the largest in the history of Cattaraugus Gives – is expected to drive even greater participation and amplify the impact for nonprofits serving Cattaraugus County.
Last year, participating nonprofits raised over $331,000 for their respective causes during the day.

BRADFORD, Pa. — The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will present its annual Vocal Arts Ensemble winter concert at noon Dec. 2 in the Bromeley Family Theater. The event is free and open to the public.
The ensemble invites audiences to get into the holiday spirit with an afternoon of festive music performed by Pitt-Bradford student vocalists. This performance will feature a blend of traditional and contemporary selections chosen by both the director and ensemble members, creating a varied and engaging program for listeners of all ages. Selections include “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “Stille Nacht/Silent Night” and “The Prayer of Saint Francis.”
Michael B. McCULLOCH, 73, of Wellsville, NY, passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, November 23, 2025 with his loving wife at his side. Born May 28,1952, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Louis and Elizabeth Smith McCulloch. On October 12, 1996, in Wellsville, he married Kay Flurschutz Stuck, who survives.
A graduate of Liverpool High School and a 1972 graduate of Alfred State College, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1972 – 1974. He was employed by Kodak in Rochester for 25 years. After moving to Wellsville, he was employed by I.D. Booth for seven years. He was known locally as the “Dog Guy,” as he faithfully walked his Airedales throughout the community.

Daniel F. GLASSMIRE V, 73, of Coudersport, PA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 16, 2025.
Born December 3, 1951, in Pasco, WA, he was the son of Daniel F Glassmire, IV and Beatrice Lignian Glassmire. On March 3, 1979, in the Ulysses Free Methodist Church, he married Joy E. Hamilton, who survives.
Known for his keen intellect and dedication to his hometown, Dan graduated from Coudersport High School with the Class of 1969. He continued his academic pursuits at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a dual degree in mathematics and chemistry in 1973. He briefly began his professional life teaching chemistry at Oswayo Valley High School.
Elsie Valetta Robertson, 99, of Bradford, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, at The Pavilion at BRMC.
Born January 16, 1926, in Bradford, Elsie was the eldest child and only daughter of the late Arthur R. and Bertha I. (Munn) Hayes. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1944. She was a lifelong Bradford area resident.
On August 28, 1948, Elsie married Richard L. Robertson (Dick) at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Bradford. They shared over 67 years of marriage until Dick’s passing on March 27, 2015.
Life, is it fair or unfair? How do you determine the answer to that? How is it measured? What are the parameters used to decide what is fair and what isn’t? Unfortunately, fairness is more about opinion than fact.
Consider for a moment how someone from a third-world country might judge fairness compared to someone from this country. Or how a wealthy person might see fairness versus someone raised in poverty. Fairness can seem random. It changes based on a person’s background and socioeconomic status. What one person finds fair might seem unfair to another. Life can be tough and sometimes feel unfair, but is it really? Maybe the issue isn’t with life itself, but with how I view it.
We have one week left collecting toys and gifts for our 25th Gift of Memory program at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home in Shinglehouse, which benefits the Christmas House in Coudersport. These gifts are distributed to area families throughout the county that need help during the Christmas season. We will collect items until Monday, December 1, 2025. June E. PROUTY, 85, of Ulysses, PA, died Saturday, November 22, 2025 in UPMC Williamsport. Born July 1, 1940, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Merl A. and Pearl Z. Dailey Dent. On August 26, 1961, in West Pike, she married John R. Prouty, who survives.
June was a helpmate to her husband, John, who pastored Austinburg Baptist Church and West Pike Baptist Church. She was a member of West Pike Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. June served on the Pike Township Board of Election.
Surviving besides her husband, John, are: a son, John (Joni) Prouty, Jr. of Ulysses; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Kay) Dent of Groveport, OH; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Venice “Jean” Blazejewski and Marrian A. Bart; and two brothers, Lyle Dent and Merl A. Dent, Jr.
Daniel P COOK, 67, of Belmont, NY, died Sunday, November 16, 2025 in Cuba Memorial Hospital. Born August 19, 1958, in Wellsville, he was the son of Paul and Delores Post Cook. On January 18, 1998, in Belmont he married Lisa Kiefer, who survives.
Dan attended Wellsville Central School and worked in sheet metal and tin fabrication. He started with Wellsville Roofing & Sheet Metal and later worked with William C. McCombs of Rochester and MJ Mechanical of Olean. Dan was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed fishing. In his younger days, he played bass guitar in several rock and roll bands, including the band Runner. Dan was a member of Sons of the American Legion Squadron 702 in Wellsville.

Harrisburg, PA – Today, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PA Turnpike), Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), and Pennsylvania Insurance Department (PID) came together to remind drivers to wear their seat belts, drive sober, and eliminate distractions behind the wheel.
Operation Safe Holiday kicked off on November 10 with the “Click It or Ticket” (CIOT) Thanksgiving Enforcement Mobilization running through November 30. The Holiday Season Impaired Driving Campaign began November 19 and runs through January 1.
Whitesville- Jerry Lyle Smith
Jerry L. Smith, formerly of 183 Shamrock Road in Rexville, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Elderwood in Hornell.
Born and raised in Whitesville, Jerry was a proud 1967 graduate of Whitesville Central School, where he competed in cross country, basketball, and baseball. After graduation, he returned home to take over the family’s dairy farm, beginning a lifelong devotion to Registered Holsteins. A respected member of the Holstein community, Jerry bred more than 30 Excellent cows during his career.
