City of Bradford Police Arrested Braxton Reese for Motor Vehicle Theft
On 02/17/2023 the City of Bradford Police arrested Braxton Reese for 2 separate counts of motor vehicle theft and several additional counts of theft of items from a motor vehicle. Reese committed all of these offenses over a short period of time on that date. Both motor vehicles were recovered.
Reese was taken to Magistrate Cercone and arraigned and remanded to McKean County Jail on $10,000 cash bail. Preliminary hearings are set in the matter.

Man Arrested On Bench Warrant
On 02/23/2023 City of Bradford Police arrested Shannon Shroyer at 44 East Corydon Street on a McKean County Bench warrant. Shroyer was transferred to Sheriffs Deputies and transported to McKean County Jail.

Bradford Police Charge Suspect in Vehicle Theft From October
On 02/22/2023 City of Bradford Police arraigned Nicholas P. White for theft of a motor vehicle from an investigation back on 10/15/2022. There has been an active arrest warrant for White out since that time frame.
White was taken to Magistrate Luther and he was remanded to McKean County Jail on $30,000 cash bail. Preliminary hearings are set in the matter.

Bradford Police Arrest Man For Alleged Assault
On 02/16/2023 the City of Bradford Police investigated an assault on Mechanic Street where an adult female was found with injuries. The female alleged that Thomas Nelson had assaulted her and fled the scene.
City of Bradford Police obtained an arrest warrant for Nelson and located him on 02/22/2023 and arrested him for the assault. Nelson was arraigned by Magistrate Cercone and bail was set at $2,500 unsecured. Preliminary hearings are set in the matter.

SMETHPORT MAN ACCUSED OF POSSESSING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
(SMETHPORT, Pennsylvania) (February 24, 2023): District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that charges have been filed against a Smethport man accusing him of viewing and/or possessing hundreds of images of child pornography.
Daniel MERRICK (age 64) was charged by the Computer Crimes Unit of the Pennsylvania State Police with more than 800 images or videos of child pornography. Additionally, MERRICK was charged with Criminal Use of a Communication Facility (using an electronic device to commit the crimes). The complaint alleges the crimes occurred between July 6, 2022 and February 10, 2023.
MERRICK was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge William Todd who set bail at $20,000 straight and was scheduled to appear for central court at the McKean County Courthouse on March 9. He was remanded to the McKean County Jail.

32 yr old Justin Michael Schlopy arrested for forcible rape of 16 yr old female
On 02/18/2023 the City of Bradford Police Department arrested 32 yr old Justin Michael Schlopy on an arrest warrant for forcible rape and multiple other sex offenses against a 16 yr old female victim.
The offense occurred between 10/29/22 and 10//30/22 at 17 South Center Street in Bradford.
Schlopy was taken to Magistrate Cercone for arraignment and remanded to McKean County Jail on $50,000 cash bail. Preliminary hearings are set in the matter.

BT Responded to Crash Into Pole on Minard Run Road Wednesday

At 1128 Wednesday afternoon BTVFD and an Ambulance from Bradford City was dispatched to the area of 800 Minard Run Road for a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment. Chief 15 arrived and established Minard Run Command and reported no entrapment.
A second ambulance from BCFD was requested. Engine 153 split their crew for patient care and hazard mitigation. Engine 151’s crew handled the road closure at the bottom of the hill. Stations 8 and 7 were dispatched to shutdown the top of the hill. All units were placed back in service within a hour.
Assisting on scene were Donovan’s towing, Bradford Township PD, Bradford City FD, Hilltop VFD, Rew VFD, and Penndot.

In Cuba, Juvenile Arrested On Felony Charges

On February 11th, 2023 at approximately 10:30 pm, following a report of a stabbing, Cuba Police arrested a juvenile of Cuba. This juvenile was arrested on charges of assault 2nd (Felony), attempted assault of a police officer (Felony), resisting arrest (Misdemeanor) and obstruction of governmental
administration (Misdemeanor). This juvenile was processed and arraigned in family court and placed in a juvenile secure youth detention center. This youth is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of Law.
Cuba Police Department Makes Arrests

On January 24th, 2023 at approximately 7:46PM, Cuba Police arrested Kevin J. Tyler (51) of Wellsville. Tyler was arrested charges of petit larceny. Tyler was processed and issued an appearance ticket to appear at a later date. Tyler is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of Law.

Arrest Made In Theft Last May in Bradford
On February 7th, 2023 City of Bradford Police took Tami Lynne McCormick into custody on an arrest warrant for a theft that occurred back on 05/25/22 at 105 Hilton Street Blue Star Storage.
McCormick is alleged to have stolen contents from a locked storage unit that she did not have authorization to enter. The owner of the property had no knowledge of McCormick and gave no one permission to have any of the contents.
McCormick was taken to Magistrate Luther for arraignment and remanded to McKean County Jail on $25,000 cash bail. Preliminary Hearings are set in the matter.

Man Facing Charges After Fleeing & Threatening Police
On February 12th, 2023 at approximately 0221 hrs, City of Bradford Police attempted to stop a vehicle on Barbour Street driving with no tail lights. The vehicle failed to yield to lights and siren.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop at the City Line Bar parking lot when the male driver Christopher Horton ran from the truck. A foot pursuit then occurred until Officers caught him in the back yard of a residence off Poplin Ave.
Horton was taken into custody for DUI, fleeing and eluding, driving suspended, driving without tail lights, and fleeing on foot. While in custody Horton repeatedly threatened to kill police officers.
Horton was arraigned by Magistrate William Todd who placed $25,000 cash bail on him. Horton was able to post bail and was released. Preliminary hearings are set in the matter.
