Catherine M. Fuller, 79, of Friendship, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born July 25, 1945, in Portville the daughter of the late Thomas “Johnny” and Mildred (Dentiston) Lamb.
Catherine was raised in Belmont, and attended Belmont Central Schools. She was employed by Acme Electric in Cuba and had a history of bar tending. Outside of her employment she enjoyed dancing at the grange, loved country music, antique cars, and going to dinner.
Mary Lee Morrison, 78, of Russell, PA., died on Sunday March 2, 2025, at her home with her family at her bedside.
She was born April 15, 1946, in Towanda, PA. Mary Lee was the daughter of Leon and Mary Wood Brennan. Mary Lee spent the majority of her life in Warren, where she raised her family and was an active member of the community. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church and had been a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Church. She was a past member of the Women’s Club of Warren and a member of the Warren American Legion Post 135 Ladies Auxiliary. In 2005, she and her husband moved to Utah, where they spent 11 years enjoying the beautiful landscapes and making lifelong memories. In 2016, they returned to Warren where she continued to enjoy spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid baker, cook, artist doing taupe paintings and building bird houses out of gourds.
Daniel F. “Danny” GLASSMIRE, VI, 42, of Coudersport, PA, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. He was surrounded by his family following a hard fought battle with cancer. Born June 12, 1982, in Coudersport, he was the son of Daniel F Glassmire, V and Joy E. Hamilton Glassmire, who survive.
A 2000 graduate of Coudersport Area High School, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004 from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He was a Master Mason with the Free and Accepted Masons, Eulalia Lodge No. 342 and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was baptized and raised in the Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport.
Danny was a true “man of letters” in every sense. His words were a gift—those fortunate enough to receive a letter or message from him held a work of art, crafted with eloquence, imagination, and profound meaning. Danny poured his passion into novels, short stories, and, most of all, poetry, weaving his rich vocabulary and vivid imagination into letters and writings that were poetic, cryptic, and profoundly meaningful. An avid reader, he found joy and inspiration in literature, whether fiction, non-fiction, or poetry. Beyond his literary talents, Danny was a skilled title abstractor, landman, and excelled at various laborer and service jobs in Pittsburgh, PA.
Ronald L. Wenzel, 79, of Coudersport, formerly of Warren, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a brief illness.
Born on Thursday, September 13, 1945 in Warren, he was a son of William H. and Alice I. Christensen Wenzel. On July 18, 1964 in Warren, he married Carol J. Wermter, who passed away on July 20, 2023.
Ron was a graduate of Warren High School in Warren, PA. He served honorably in the US Navy as a fireman.
Roberta P. West, 94, of Millport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in her home with her loving family by her side.
Born on Tuesday, June 3, 1930, in Shaytown, PA, she was a daughter of Kirke S. and Pauline V. Wood Newton. On November 15, 1953 in the Millport United Brethren Church, she married Loyd L. West, who passed away on June 20, 1999.
Roberta was a graduate of Coudersport High School, Class of 1948. Her first job was as a secretary at the former Potter County Memorial Hospital in Coudersport, where she met her husband to be, Loyd West. They shared 45 years of marriage until his passing.
Marguerite Ellen Lenze, of Titusville, Florida and formerly of Saint Marys, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
The daughter of Eugene Krauss and Marguerite Krauss, Ellen, as she was called by her friends, was born on October 9th, 1938; she was 86.
She is survived by her six married children, Andrew “Rock” and Sharon Lenze, Beth and Ed Seiler, Dave and Lisa Lenze, Jim and Sylvia Lenze, Don and Janet Lenze, and Leo and Leann Lenze; twenty-three grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Her husband Leo passed in April 2023.
Ellen was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1956 and then from the Dubois Business College with an Associate’s degree. She and Leo, her high school sweetheart, married in 1960 and raised their children on Robson Avenue in St. Marys. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a fixture at school-related clubs and events for many years.
Kathryn L. Gilbert, 83, of Andover, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
She was born May 12, 1941, in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of the late Sherrill and Olive Wise Sager. On October 7, 1961, in Cornplanter, PA, she married John H. Gilbert, who survives.
Robert M. Lynch, 65, of Wellsville, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, surrounded by his family at Jones Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. He was born November 2, 1959, in Wellsville, the son of the late George M. and Betty Jean (Barnes) Lynch.
Smethport – Stephen V. Riddell, 85, of Smethport, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday (February 21, 2025)
He was born October 31, 1939 in Philadelphia, son of Robert W. and Evelyn L. (Valentine) Riddell. On September 12, 1959, in Delaware County, PA, he married Gail A. Gearhart, who survives.
Judith A. Shelley, 80, of East Water Street, Smethport, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, surrounded by her niece, grandniece, and great grandniece, at the Bradford Manor.
Judith was born on her family’s farm in Farmers Valley, on May 5, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ida (Leet) Shelley. She was a 1962 graduate of Smethport High School.
Helen L. West, 96, of Wellsboro, passed away, Friday, February 21, 2025, at Broad Acres. She was born on May 13, 1928, in Wellsboro, the daughter of the late Milton and Laura (Youmans) Peake. She married Walter H. West who preceded her in death in 1968.
Nancy G. Kilpatrick, 82, of Bradford, formerly of Centerville IA, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born August 10, 1942, in Centerville, IA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (Parsons) Gragg. She was a 1960 graduate of Jefferson High School, Jefferson Iowa, and graduated with honors from The American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
Nancy formerly worked at Dr. Ritter’s office. She also worked at People’s Abstract and Title Company and retired from Alliant Energy as an Administrative Assistant.
Jane I. Hurd, nee Scott, 64, of Belmont, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Jones Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born December 8, 1960, in Cuba, the daughter of the late George E. and Leona (Kelly) Scott. On August 31, 2011, in Belmont, she married Louis Hurd, who predeceased her on August 9, 2014.
Jane “Green-eyed-lady”, was raised in Belmont, graduating from Belmont High School in 1979. She continued her education at Alfred State earning, first her Realtor certificate, and then returned to start her training for Occupational Therapy. She continued her therapy training with Jones Memorial Hospital, specializing in wound recovery. Outside of her career, she owned and operated “Granny’s Got It”, a craft store that allowed her to follow her creativity, passion for crafts, and decorating & catering large events. She was a woman of Christian faith and attended the United Methodist Church of Belmont. She was a proud member of the Belmont American Legion Post 808 Auxiliary. The family would like to extend special thanks to Jen Bliss for her care of Jane.
Roy M. “Mick” Lindell, 90, of Russell, Pa, died on Thursday February 27, 2025, in Kinzua Healthcare and Rehab Center, surrounded by his children.
Mick was born in Warren, Pa, on June 8, 1934, the son of the late Paul J. and Helen Eckman Lindell. Roy was a Warren County resident his entire life. He worked as a Machinist for GTE Sylvania for over 40 years retiring from there in 1993. He then drove school van for Decker’s Transportation in Lander, driving HeadStart children, retiring in 2014. Mick was an avid woodcarver, enjoyed cutting and selling firewood, operating the family farm, and was considered the local Sheep Shearer of Russell and Lander areas. In his earlier years, Roy enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Janet. Mick was a member of the Viking’s of Jamestown, NY, and the Western New York Wood Carving Club. Roy was a great friend with all the local Amish Communities, especially his dear friend, Willie Petersheim and his family of Sugar Grove.
On September 18, 1954, in Frewsburg, New York, Roy married his love Janet, and they spent 64 loving years together before her passing on June 3, 2018.
Lester W. MILSTEAD, 89, of Genesee, PA, formerly of Coudersport, PA and Silver Spring, MD, died Sunday, February 23, 2025 in his home.
Born February 11, 1936, in Fairland, MD, he was the son of Earl E., Sr. and Mary Elberta Mills Milstead. On June 21, 1955, in Washington, D.C., he married Theresa “Terry” McGee, who survives. He attended Sherwood High School, Fairland, MD, and was employed by the U.S. Government Publishing Office in Washington, D.C. and then owned and operated V.I. Printing with his wife. Lester was an avid hunter which brought he and Terry to Potter County. Lester was a member of the First Baptist Church of Galeton and the National Turkey Federation.
In addition to his wife, Terry, he is survived by a brother, Charles Wesley (Priscilla) Milstead of Rehoboth, DE; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Vernon Milstead, in 1995; a brother, Earl E. Milstead, Jr.; and a sister, Carolyn Rowles.
Friends may call at First Baptist Church of Galeton, 234 W. Main St., Galeton, PA 16922 on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 5:00 PM. Rev. Richard W. Tintle will officiate. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

Erica S. Nupp “beloved daughter, sister, and mother”
Erica S. Nupp, 49, of Olean, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, after a battle with declining health.
Born on Friday, September 19, 1975 in Olean, she was a daughter of LeRoy W. Nupp, Sr. and Toni K. Constantine Gibbons Kostus.
Erica was a graduate of Olean High School. She had previously been employed at Cutco in Olean.
Thomas P. “Slats” Farley, 87, of St. Marys, unexpectedly joined his wife in Heaven on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Penn Highlands Elk.
He was born on February 14, 1938 in St. Marys, PA, a son of the late Paul and Helen Yeager Farley.
On January 28, 1961, he married the late Sandra E. Farley, who proceeded him in death just 5 days before him on February 21, 2025. After having been inseparable for more than 64 years, Tom’s devotion to Sandy was unending, and they are now together again.
Thomas was a graduate of Central High School and worked as an usher at The Harris Theatre. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the destroyer ship USS Ross. He worked in the machine shop at Stackpole in St. Marys (and later in Johnsonburg) as well as at GKN in Emporium until his retirement. Thomas served as a St. Marys City Councilman from 2002-2009 and was a member of the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail and The Singing Dutchmen.
Ann M. Lucia McAvoy, 104, of Warren, PA., died peacefully, Monday evening, February 24, 2025, at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA., after a long life, surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was born September 16, 1920, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of Peter and Mamie Scalise Lucia. She was a 1937 graduate of Warren High School and attended 8 years at St. Joseph School. She was a graduate of Ora Jean Beauty Academy in Erie, PA. and owned and operated her own beauty salon. In 1952 she moved to Sheffield, PA., where she resided for 50 years. She also was employed with New Process Company, working nights before she went to beauty school. She loved spending her birthday with her children at the casino. Ann loved to bowl most her life and she was an avid crocheter and knitter for her children and grandchildren. She loved to play cards. Ann was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. Prior to Ann’s stay at the Rouse, she was a resident of the Watson Memorial Home.
Lecretia A. HARING, 62, of Harrisburg, PA, formerly of Ulysses, died Friday, February 21, 2025, in her home.
Born December 11, 1962, in Wellsville, NY, she was the daughter of William I. and Mary Jane Chase Haskins. A 1981 graduate of Northern Potter High School, she was employed by PrimeCare Medical Inc. Lecretia was a member of The First Baptist Church of Ulysses. She was also a thirty-one-year member of Ulysses Chapter of OES #95. She lived a life that was fulfilled by love for her four boys. Her passion and driving force in life was her four grandsons.
Lecretia had a smile that would light up any room. She loved to bake and anytime you got a call that she was bringing baked goods it was a fight for who would get how many of each. She would do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat. Her compassion for anyone in need was unmatched. She has left a void that will never be able to be filled. Her personality, love, passion, and generosity are just not something that can be matched. She will never be forgotten.
Gary Edward FALK, 78, of Kane, PA, formerly of Port Allegany, died Monday, February 24, 2025 in his home.
Born January 17, 1947, in Coudersport, he was the son of Vernon M. and Mildred L. Overdorf Falk. On June 21, 1969, in Port Allegany, he married Alice A. Cornwell, who survives. A 1964 graduate of Port Allegany High School, he attended Erie Business School for a couple years. Gary was employed by Kesco Hardware in Port Allegany, Clark Brothers in Olean, and retired from Saint-Gobain Glass Plant in 2002.
He was also a realtor for North Country Reality. Gary was fond of all things outdoors. In the winter, he could be found on the area’s many cross-country ski trails enjoying the snow and the company of friends. During the warmer weather, you could find him on his bike traveling many miles across the roads and highways. He was also an avid organic gardener, proudly selling his homegrown produce he grew on Green Darner Farm on Two Mile Road and local farmers markets. He was known to many for his top-of-the-line flavorful garlic. He was also a talented amateur photographer and enjoyed birdwatching.

Ada M. PALMATIER, 86, of Genesee, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
Born December 13, 1938, in Hickox, she was the daughter of Merle “Mike” and Ruth Whitaker Dunbar. She was a 1956 graduate of Genesee High School. On March 23, 1957, in North Bingham, she married Leonard Jerald “Jerry” Palmatier, who predeceased her on January 6, 2017. Ada and Jerry owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. She was a bus driver in the Northern Potter School Distrist for 40 years.
Surviving are: three children, Len (Melonie) Palmatier of Genesee, Amy (Bob) Ellison of Whitesville, NY, and Abby (Frank) Dunning of Lawrenceville; grandchildren; ste-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Betty J. Palmatier; and a brother, Donald Dunbar. The family will hold a private service in the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church. Rev. Roy Ward will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Settlement Cemetery.

Shirley C. BILLINGS, 69, of Hallsport, NY, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.
Born July 6, 1955, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Ronald and Beverly Grace Smith Billings. In spite of her handicaps and health issues her entire life, Shirley never let them hinder her from being a part of whatever activities her family was doing. Her family and friends have always been important and special to her. Her nieces and nephews have always held a special place in her heart and life. Babysitting was especially a highlight in Shirley’s life. Another highlight in her life was church. She was a volunteer at Southern Tier Youth for Christ. Shirley took great delight in photographing many family events and shopping for her family members.
