Rebecca A. Webster, 68, of Scio, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Olean General Hospital family by her side. She was born on February 12, 1957, in Olean, the daughter of the late Gordon and Jean (Keesler) Eck. On September 17, 1977, in Scio, she married George Webster, who survives.
Becky was a graduate of Richburg High School. Upon graduating, she joined the workforce and was employed by several local organizations, such as: Friendship Dairies, McDonalds, and Scio Central School for many years. Outside of work, she enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, hunting, playing cards, going to the casino, dancing, and camping.
Leonard D. ORDWAY, 68, of Whitesville, NY, died Saturday, April 26, 2025 in his home.
Born June 9, 1956, in Wellsville, he was the son of Leon J. and Ethel M. Tracy Ordway. On June 16, 1975, in Scio, he married the former Karen M. Ryan, who survives. A graduate of Whitesville Central School, he and his wife owned and operated Herbert Cooper Co. in Genesee, PA. He loved music and playing guitar. Leonard played in several area bands, beginning with the Knight Riders. His Gibson J45 and 1963 Fender reissue custom shop telecaster were prized possessions. He babied his classic Mustang and immensely enjoyed his Ford F-150 truck. Leonard was especially generous and always willing to lend a helping hand. A man of integrity, he strived to be just and fair. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren.
Richard A. SURDAM, 70, of Galeton, PA, died Thursday, April 24, 2025 in UPMC Soldiers & Sailors, Wellsboro.
Born September 14, 1954, in Galeton, he was the son of Lee G. and Margaret M. Steadman Surdam. A graduate of Galeton Area High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1973 – 1975. Richard was a self-employed contractor.
Kathleen Jo SMOKER, 65, of Gold, PA, died Friday, April 25, 2025 in her home.
Born September 15, 1959, in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of Love S. and Beverly J. Reynolds Hess. On March 25, 1978, in Mills Union Church, she married David C. Smoker, who survives. A 1977 graduate of Northern Potter High School, she was employed by Chase Oil Co. in Ulysses from 1978 – 1998. Kathy served as bookkeeper for Penn-York Camp for over eight years. She and her husband owned and operated Smoker Excavating, Inc. Kathy liked to spend her time in her kitchen making food for her family and for people going through a hard time. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and going to the deer park with her grandkids.
Joyce Marie KENYON, nee Lockwood, 65, of Olean, NY, passed away on April 28, 2025 with family members in Alfred Station, NY after a long illness.
Joyce was born on November 2, 1959, in Cuba, NY. She attended Franklinville School. In 1976, he married Randy W. Kenyon (subsequently divorced), and they had seven children together. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She spent much of her life as a dedicated nurse and truly loved caring for others. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting, cooking, and crafts, and found joy in family and the blessings in everyday life. Joyce’s life was built upon a foundation of strength, kindness, compassion, and faith. She was a beautiful soul who is remembered for her kindness, grace, and ability to smile through adversity.
Angela M. “Julie” DOUGLAS, 98, of Horseheads, NY, died Monday, December 16, 2024 in Guthrie Corning Hospital.
Born May 7, 1926, in Galeton, PA, she was the daughter of Antonio and Nancy C. Lollo Messino. She was married to Gordon L. Douglas, who predeceased her on December 24, 1999. A graduate of Galeton High School, she was employed by JC Penney in sales and as a buyer. At Penney’s, she brightened the men’s department with her sparkling personality and sometimes snarky sense of humor.
She was well-respected by her co-workers. Angela lived life enjoying a good laugh with humor and a cheerful disposition, drawing many friends. She had an amazing fashion sense and style. She was always dressed elegantly with a little bit of bling. Her free time was filled with reading, ceramics, and watching soap operas. Family was the center of her life. It was evident how much she loved her children and grandchildren by how much she talked about them.
Arlene S. RISSER, 88, of Ellisburg, PA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2025 in her home. Born May 22, 1936, in Conewago Township, Dauphin County, she was the daughter of Sylvan and Martha Shireman Myers. On December 6, 1958, in Cleona Brethren in Christ Church, she married Titus C. Risser, who predeceased her on September 13, 2017.
Arlene and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Ellisburg for many years. A graduate of Hershey High School, she earned her nursing degree from Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse by Hewitt Manor in Shinglehouse, Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wellsville,and Helpmates. Arlene was a member of the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church, Ellisburg Community Club, and the Ulysses Senior Center.
Surviving are: four sons, Kevin (Martha) Risser of Coudersport, Kenneth (Lori) Risser of Ulysses, Fred (Connie) Risser of Andrews Settlement, and David (Nelsa) Risser of Ellisburg; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by five siblings, Florence Whisler, Franklin Myers, Clarence Myers, Herman Myers, and Margaret Ginder.

Dr. Russell L. Dodson, 82, of Wellsboro, passed away Thursday April 24, 2025, in his home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born December 30, 1942, in Detroit, MI to Russell W. and Hettie E. (Patterson) Dodson. He grew up in Detroit, graduated from Osborn High School, and served in the US Army from 1962-1964.
Edward John Salevsky Jr. passed away on Friday, April 25th at the age of 73 after a nearly 3-year battle with ALS.
Ed was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 29, 1951 at Germantown Hospital. From a young age he had a passion for hunting, fishing, and being out in nature. As an adolescent, his love of the outdoors was exemplified by his commitment as a Boy Scout, in which he eventually earned the title of Eagle Scout. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and a Master’s degree from Penn State University, he attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania where he met his future wife of 42 years, Dr. Adrian Carlin Salevsky.

Tracy Marie Seeley, 46, of Lewis Run, formerly of Limestone, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Olean General Hospital. Tracy was a beautiful soul and was loved by all who knew her.
Born on May 10, 1978, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Forrest L. Seeley, Jr. and Barbara J. (Rounsville) Seeley. Tracy was a 1997 graduate of Allegheny Limestone High School.
Tracy’s sweet, loving nature, as a people person, led her to be employed at Salamanca Rehab, where she loved and enjoyed all of the residents, as they loved her.
Mary Lynn Fish, 77, of Wellsboro passed away Thursday April 24, 2025.
She was born December 18, 1947, in Westfield, to Lee B. and Patricia J. (Cole) Fish. After graduating from Cowanesque Valley High School in 1965, she attended the State Beauty School in Williamsport. Mary worked locally as a hairdresser and nurse’s aide. She loved all animals and enjoyed watching the local wildlife, but she especially loved her cats.
Mary is survived by her brother: Thomas (Debbie) Fish of Bloomington, MN, and her sister: Jennifer Murphy of Coudersport Christopher Murphy of Crowns like, MD .
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.

Anna M. Schneider, 97, formerly of Wendel Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born on July 16, 1927 in Byrnedale, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony and Fosca Pisaneschi Carpin.
On July 15, 1949, she married the late Norman Schneider, who preceded her in death on January 24, 2021. Together they were blessed with more than 72 years of marriage.
Rudolph N. “Rudy” Catalone, 92, of E. Eschbach Rd, St. Marys, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Penn Highlands Elk, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 17, 1932, in St. Marys, son of the late Rocco Catalone and Rose Caseino Catalone. He attended St. Marys Area schools.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life, Patricia “Patty” Lavella. They enjoyed over 60 years of love and laughter.
As a young man, Rudy co-owned the Texaco station in Emporium with his brother, Paul.
Peggy A. Bartlett, 59, of 47 South Gate Road Bradford, passed away, Saturday April 12, 2025, at her sister’s home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 20, 1966, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late L. Wayne “Slick” and Patricia A.(Schadt) Bartlett. She was a 1984 graduate of Bradford High School.
Peggy was employed at Keebler Company as an inventory clerk, later she cooked at the Lighthouse Restaurant and the Derrick City Diner.
Dale E. Swaney, 75, of Warren, PA., died Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA., after a brief illness. Dale was born on July 11, 1949, in Meadville, PA.
He was the son of William J. and Georgianna Poux Swaney.
Edna L. PAISLEY, 91, of Genesee, PA, formerly of Landenberg, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family.
Born May 22, 1933, in Troutdale, VA, she was the daughter of Clarence and Fay Duvall Miles. On April 4, 1953, she married Ray McNeil Paisley, who predeceased her on April 17, 2017. She devoted her life to her family. Edna enjoyed quilting and sewing.
William C. Exton, 79, of 4587 Townline Rd., Cuba, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at home with his family at his side after a lengthy illness.
Born on December 5, 1945, in Rochester, he was a son of Reginald “Jack” and Marjorie “Charlie” (Ellis) Exton.
On May 23, 1987, in the Livonia Methodist Church, he married the former Linda L. Pierce who survives.
After graduation Bill served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1965-68. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. After he was discharged, he worked Construction for Showcase Homes in Hemet, California, prior to his retirement, but continued helping people with odd jobs. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Western movies on TV.
Aaron Michael Harrier, 46, of Port Allegany, passed away peacefully on Monday (April 21, 2025) at Sena Kean Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Smethport, after a courageous, yet short, battle with cancer.
He was born March 12, 1979 in Port Allegany, the son of David P. and Jane A. (Bickford) Harrier. On June 11, 2005, in Port Allegany, PA, he married Laurie Jeanne McGinnis. Also daughter Daisy Jane Harrier was born on January 19, 2017.
Brandy L. Mason, 50, of Driftwood, PA passed away at UPMC Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, PA on Wednesday morning (March 26, 2025) with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born December 24, 1974 in Coudersport, PA a daughter of Rickey Copp, Sr. (Pam), and Lucille Graves Copp, Emporium. On July 7, 2018 she married the love of her life and soulmate Scott Mason, who survives.
Brandy was a lifetime Cameron County resident and graduated from Cameron County High School. She shared a wonderful life alongside her loving husband and daughter Skylar Stevens. Together they ran a hobby farm and S’mores and More Rental. Brandy‘s passions were her beautiful family, her animals, (her beloved Fanta), fishing and friends.
Tiffany J. Thomas, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 14, 2025.
She was born July 7, 1980 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of Nanette Smith Oakes, who survives.
Tiffany worked in various restaurants over the years and was employed recently at Hoss’s, she will be remembered for being a good server and being very friendly to all she encountered. It was during this time that she made a number of great friends. Tiffany had a great love for elephants, they were her favorite animal. She loved doing and helping others do their hair, make-up, and nails. In her free time, Tiffany enjoyed watching movies, and especially enjoyed the Harry Potter series.
Dolores A. Richmond, of Lake Wales, FL, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Helen M. Sawyer Assisted Living Facility in Lake Miramar, FL. She was born on March 30, 1942, in Andover, NY, the daughter of the late Glenn and Lilian (Grossman) Halsey. On September 17, 1994, in Andover, she married William “Bill” Richmond, who predeceased her on October 13, 2024.
Dolores was raised in Andover, graduating from Andover High School in 1960. She soon found her career with Allegany County, starting as an Index Clerk and working her way to Treasurer, retiring after 40 years of service. Outside of her employment she was a member of the Allegany County Cancer Services, enjoyed travelling, golfing (having had three country club memberships at one point and golfing daily), drama and musical plays, loved to work in her flower garden, and dogs.
