Phyllis passed away on September 28, 2024.

PORT ALLEGANY- Mary K. Ostrander, 80, of Route 155 N, passed away Sunday (Oct. 13, 2024) in the Lakeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.
Born May 23, 1944, in Kane, PA, she was a daughter of Joseph C. and Clara Gregory Niklas. On Sept. 3, 1965, in Kane, PA, she married Howard F. Ostrander, who died July 3, 2004.
Mary was a graduate of Kane High School, class of 1962. She also graduated from Alfred State College, class of 1980, with a degree in Nursing.
Ann Graham, 88, of Route 6 in Kane, passed away Monday October 21, 2024, at UPMC Kane. On July 22, 1957 in Yonkers, NY she married the late Howard Graham and they shared 56 years of marriage.
Born June 19, 1936, in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late Kourken and Takouhi (Karafesian) Gezirjian. Her greatest love was becoming a mother.
Lake Wales, FL – William Andrew Richmond, 88, formerly of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born August 10, 1936, in Wellsville, the son of the late E.O. and Lulu (Quick) Richmond. He married Dolores Halsey, who survives.
Bill was raised in Allentown and was a 1953 graduate of Scio High School. From there he went onto Alfred State College, graduating with an associate degree in Mechanical Technology. He volunteered for the draft and was inducted into the Army in October 1955 and served until October 1957. After his honorable discharge he found his career at Air Preheater, first working as Supervisor of Tool Design and Die Makers, being promoted in 1980 to Manager of Maintenance and Facilities. After 41 years, he retired in 1998. Outside of his employment, he was an avid golfer, he and Dolores were members of several country clubs and liked to golf daily. They also enjoyed traveling, drama, and musicals. While living in Allegany County, Bill was a member of the Wellsville Moose Lodge, and the American Legion Post 702.
Travis Whipple, 39, of Clarendon, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 23) at his residence. Born March 3, 1985 in St. Marys, he is the son of Arthur Whipple and the late Theresa Pennington Whipple.
Travis had worked several jobs, the last being employed by Cummins Engine.
Skye Keyes, 41, of Guyton, GA, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 23) at the home of her brother. Born Feb. 14, 1983 in Dubois, she is the daughter of the late Theresa Pennington.
Skye was a member of the Kane Revival Center. Skye was a fun loving mother to her children and good to all children she met. She enjoyed taking her children on vacations and loved spending time with her Pocket Bully Louis. She enjoyed being around family and friends and spent a lot of time with her brother and best friend, Travis Whipple. She also enjoyed playing Scratch off tickets.
She is survived by her husband Brian Keyes; three sons, Colton, Caiden and Jaxton Keyes; four aunts: Patti Beane, Nicole (Paul Kimes) Causer, Peggy (Jim) Bailey, who raised Skye like a daughter; an uncle Nick Pennington; fourteen cousins, Cheyenne Bailey, Jamie Bailey, Megan Bailey, Sofia Bailey, Tia Bailey, Akira Bailey, Jake (Brittany) Bailey, Shauna Bailey, Tanner Bailey, Tyler Bailey, Elliana Bailey, Ember Bobeck, Muriel Whipple and Joey Couch; two nieces, Mindey Foster and McKenna Collins.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Whipple, three daughters, Raelynn, Payton and Taylin Keyes four uncles, Kevin Causer, Randy, Russell and Scott Pennington; three aunts, Judy Dunkle , Cathy Pennington and Lois Carlson and her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Derma Pennington.
Friends are invited to attend a viewing at the Cummings Funeral Home on Thursday (Oct. 31) from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Tomas Eastman officiating.

Calvin A. Simonds, age 74, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
He was born on October 1, 1950 in Tioga, PA a son of the late Oscar and Mildred (Cole) Simonds and was married to Barbara A. (Abel) Simonds for 53 years. Cal was the property manager for UPMC Wellsboro for 41 years and had a saw sharpening business for many years. He was a member of the Tioga Lodge # 373 F&AM, the Coudersport Consistory, and enjoyed hunting, and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife: Barb Simonds of Wellsboro, PA, sons: Dave (Lisa) Abel of Middlebury Center, PA, Preston Simonds of Wellsboro, PA, brothers: Cliff Simonds of Wellsboro, PA, Karl (Cheri Wheatley) Simonds of Tioga, PA, Clayton (Theresa Owens) Simonds of Addison, NY, sister: Donna (Eric) Packard of Mansfield, PA, brother-in-law: Davis Cosey of NC, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 4 sisters: Alice Cosey, Irene Simonds, Joyce Sly and Loretta Simonds.

Janice E. Woodkirk, 90, of Shinglehouse, passed from the loving care of her family into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on Friday, October 25, 2024, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.
Born on Thursday, July 26, 1934 in Myrtle, she was a daughter of Howard J. and Doris L. Haynes Gustin. On August 9, 1953 in Shinglehouse, she married Charles L. Woodkirk, who passed away on August 3, 1998. On June 10, 2006, she married Randall “Jack” Pease, who passed away on June 30, 2022.
Robert D. Hand, 66, of 11 North Street, Friendship, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at home with family at his side after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on August 11, 1958, in Wellsville he was a son of Audrey McNamara. In 1981, he met his lifelong companion Sandi Rogers who survives.
George Hoden, 95, of Englewood, Florida died on Monday, October 21, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born on April 28, 1929, in Sheffield, Pa., to the late John and Mary Hoden. He was from a large Ukrainian immigrant family and was one of ten children.
George married the love of his life, Beverly Jones, on May 13, 1950. She was his sweetheart from high school, where he was a star on the gridiron and she a cheerleader. They lived in Warren, Pa., where they raised their family of four surrounded by their large respective families and a deeply rooted sense of community. They later retired and moved to Englewood, Fl., while spending summers in Ellicottville, NY.

Claudette Jolley, 93, formerly of Coudersport, PA, died on October 22, 2024, at StoryPoint Assisted Living Facility, Fairfield Township, Ohio. She was born in Burnsville, WV on September 2, 1931, to parents Wallace and Roma (Cutlip) Hefner.
Claudette is a graduate of Glenville State College, WV and during her teaching career taught for 30 years at Northern Potter High School in Ulysses, PA. She enjoyed reading, golf, travelling and the company of her family and friends. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Coudersport and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard. She is survived by sons Doug (Davetta) Heaters, WV; Dan (Crystal)Key West, FL; and daughter Emily Bubnick (Tim) West Chester, OH; two grandsons Matt Jolley (Hannah)Key West, FL and Nick Jolley (Courtlyn) Maitland, FL and two great-grandsons Henry and Owen Jolley Key West, FL.

Jerome E. “Jerry” Steis, 83, of 1090 Windfall Road, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Penn Highlands Elk, with his family by his side.
He was born April 30, 1941, in St. Marys, son of the late Harry J. and Ruby Smith Steis. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1959, where he was the class president. He continued his studies at Clarion University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree and later earned his Master’s Degree in Education at Penn State University. Jerry had an impact on many young lives teaching for the St. Marys Area School District, where he ultimately retired in 2002.
On June 19, 1965, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Timothy celebrating, Jerry married Mary A. Gausman, who survives. They were blessed to share 59 years of marriage.
William B. McKee, III, 81, of Warren, PA., died Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Warren General Hospital, Warren, PA. Bill was born July 2, 1943, in Erie, PA. He was the son of William “Bucky” and Rebecca Underwood McKee, Jr.
He resided most of his life in Erie, PA., residing in Warren for the past several years. Bill was a graduate of Wesleyville High School and Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned his master’s degree in social work from Syracuse University. He attended Salvation Army School and was a former member of the band called Shadow. His son, Bucky, reminisced his father this way, “A boy could not have asked for a better dad!”
Bill was employed with Warren State Hospital for 18 years and retired from Erie Soldiers and Sailors Home after 13 years employment.
Robert V. “Bob” Shaffer Jr., 74, of Warren Pa, formerly of Clarendon, PA, and Jamestown, NY, died on Thursday October 24, 2024, in the Warren Manor.
He was born on February 20, 1950, in Punxsutawney, PA, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Bonnie Miller Shaffer. Bob was a graduate of Sheffield High School Class of 1969, where he excelled in all sports. He held many jobs over the years, working for Fancher Chair Co Inc. of Falconer, NY and worked as a painter for the former Deluxe Metals, Warren, PA. He enjoyed being a social butterfly, loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dennis L. Youse, 84, of Westfield, PA, formerly of Boyertown, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport. Born April 20, 1940, in Pottstown, he was the son of Charles and Pauline Reigner Youse.
On June 24, 1961, in Colebrookdale, he married Mary Lou Reigh, who predeceased him on January 17, 2013. He was employed as a houseparent by the Northern Tier Children’s Home in Harrison Valley and as a mechanic by Westfield Garment Manufacturing and J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills in Gilbertsville.

Penny Sue Succowich, age 74 of Carter Camp passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Born December 27, 1949 in Cowanesque, she was the daughter of the late Phillip A. “Pete” and Roselyn (Walker) Kent.
Penny graduated in 1967 from Cowanesque Valley High School and in 1973 from Empire Beauty School. She owned and operated Penny Succowich Beauty Salon in Galeton from 1975 – 2006 and was a stock car driver from 1981 – 1986 at Woodhull and Smethport Raceway.
Linda L. Havens, 73, of Ridgway, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 18, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on January 10, 1951, in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Leland E. and Loretta M Dietrich Havens.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Tami Waters and her husband Jesse of Mooresville, NC, and Nicole Bouaich and her husband Mohamed of Nevada, a son, Thomas A Titchner of Ridgway, 4 grandchildren: Audrey (Fran) Durnein, Logan Brigger, Allen Brigger, and William Waters, and 2 great grandchildren, Elara and Aurora. She is also survived by a brother, Lee Havens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Rinehuls.

Vern Hart passed away October 7, 2024, peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 4, 1968, in Bradford to Vic and Leigh Spetz Hart. Married Landy Good in August of 1995.
Graduated from BAHS in 1986 as a member of WHO’S WHO AMOUNG AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. He also received an associate’s degree for machining technology from ITECH in 2000.
Survived by his wife Landy, one Daughter Brianna (Andy) of Gifford, one son Dustin Michuck of St. Mary’s. One Brother Dave of Asheville, NC two sisters Vicki Hart of Bradford, Dawn Pearce of Duke Center. Mother Leigh Hart, Two Grandsons, one Granddaughter, four fur children and many nieces and one nephew.
Proceeded in death by Father Vic Hart, one Grand Daughter and one Neice.
Vern enjoyed hunting, riding four wheelers, camping and especially Entertainng in the garage on Friday nights.

Thomas Allen Rosenquist passed away on Monday October 21, 2024, at St Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, PA. He was 81 years old.
Tom was born in Buffalo, New York to Paul and Pauline (Curro) Rosenquist.
He entered the Army in 1960 and was stationed in Germany
He was honorably discharged in 1964 when he met his future bride, Barbara Zaffino. It was love at first sight when he saw her cruising in a 1962 Chevy Impala convertible.
Kevin J. Lewandowski, 68, formerly of St. Marys, passed away peacefully at Sean Kean Manor on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
He was born on May 28, 1956 in DuBois, PA, a son of the Antoni and Evelyn Cuneo Lewandowski.
Kevin was a man of pure heart, overcoming many challenges throughout his life as he navigated the world with several disabilities. He loved listening to music and sitting in his rocking chair. He delighted in spending time with others, and found comfort in carrying certain items that brought him solace. He loved the staff at Sena Kean Manor and they loved him, and he will be missed by the staff and residents.
Ruth J. GERNER, 90, of Coudersport, PA, died Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born February 16, 1934, in Bruin, she was the daughter of Thomas W. and Sara Snow Rodgers. On November 24, 1951, in Woodstock, VA, she married Charles J. Gerner, who predeceased her on November 16, 2016. Ruth and her husband owned and operated Gerner Electric and Coudersport Precast for many years. She served as an EMT with the Coudersport Ambulance Association. Ruth was a member of Park United Methodist Church.
Winifred Louise Edinger, 90, passed away on October 18, 2024 at the Sean- Kean Manor in Smethport, PA.
The daughter of the late Hartley and Emma (Winner) Adair, she was born on March 25, 1934. She attended Kane Area High School graduating in 1952. On November 19, 1955 she married Donald Edinger in Mount Jewett, PA who passed away April 5, 1990.
Upon graduation she was employed at Dresser Manufacturing Division in Bradford, PA.
She was a member of the Light on the Hill Community Church where she served as church secretary for many years, a former member of the Mt. Jewett Borough Council, the Mt. Jewett Library, Mt. Jewett American Legion Auxiliary, Mt. Jewett Sewer Authority, the Ambulance Association and the prior Mt. Jewett High School Alumni Association.
Joel Bishop, 69, a lifelong resident of Duke Center, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 at Olean General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 1, 1955 he was the son of C. Fred and Betty (Blauser) Bishop
Joel was an active member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunts with his brother Dan Bishop (Dee), his nephew, Eric Bishop (Rachel), his lifelong friend John Green, as well as countless others. He began working for Dresser-Rand, at the age of 18, and remained with the company until his retirement in 2011.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Tammy Stoddard of Duke Center, and Kristy Bishop of Mansfield , Texas; his grandchildren, Cody (Stephanie) Stoddard, Chloe Fain, Jaedon Fain and Andrew Pearson, as well as his two beloved great grandchildren, Jett and Mayvis Stoddard.
He adored sharing daily activities with Tammy, Stephanie, “Jetterbug” and “May May” as they were an absolute delight to him! He will be missed dearly.
