She was a stay-at-home mom while the kids were young and then began working in the cafeterias within the Wellsboro Area School District for a few years. Around 1980 she started working in the laundry department at Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Memorial Hospital where she retired in 1999. Carol was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother and family was of utmost importance to her.
She was a very strong person who was able to endure whatever came her way. She is a breast cancer survivor of over 40 years and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2014 which finally took her life this week. She enjoyed taking pictures, knitting, baking, canning and watching the New York Yankees play baseball. Many were the recipient of her generosity by receiving her baked goods, candies and fruitcake at Christmastime.
When her family was young, she spent every possible moment on the sidelines watching her sons and husband play baseball/softball. We really enjoyed watching her shine after her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s because it accentuated her humor, joy and passion for life. Her strength to face life’s challenges and lift others up came from a deep, unwavering love of her Lord & Savior.
