Kim M. Fischer, 52, of SenaKean Manor in Smethport PA ( formerly of Clearfield) died on Thursday, November 23,2023 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.
Born April 18, 1971 in Buffalo NY, she was the daughter of Francis Fischer and Barbara ( McFarland) Offhaus and stepfather Jerome Offhaus.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnessess, Philipsburg and will always be remembered for her faithful service to Jehovah and her family looks forward to seeing her again in Jehovah’s resurrection.

Thomas J. Bell, Sr., age 76, of Elkland, PA passed away at his home on Friday, November 24, 2023.
Born August 16, 1947 in Rexford, NY, he was the son of the late Earl and Amy (Smith) Bell.
Tom served during the Vietnam War in the US Army, was a Tioga County Fire Police for many years, a member of the Clymer Hose Volunteer Fire Company and a lifetime member of the Sabinsville Ambulance Association.

George S. Button, Jr., 79, of Front St., Emporium, PA passed away Wednesday (Nov. 22, 2023) in his home.
Born October 22, 1944, in Renovo, PA, he was a son of George S. and Mary E. Saxton Button.
George was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Smethport Area High School, class of 1965.
He was employed with the Emporium School District in the maintenance department, for several years, before his retirement.

At 11:46 AM on Saturday, Port Allegany Fire & EMS have been dispatched to Route 6 near Fuller Lane for a 2-vehicle crash with possible entrapment. Phoenix ambulance was also dispatched. Roulette ambulances dispatched.
Reporting entrapment with 4 critical patients. Roulette rescue to scene. Coudersport medic to scene. Coudersport ambulance dispatched. Coudersport Rescue dispatched.
Multiple air medical helicopters requested. 4th helicopter now requested.
Coudersport units recalled. One helicopter diverted to UPMC Cole.
12:26 PM–4th helicopter cancelled. Coroner requested.
12:35 PM–All patients have been extricated from the vehicles.
Route 6 will be closed for an extended period.

The fall Potter County Farmers Market will be indoors at 114 North Main Street, Coudersport, where the Blue Daffodils was located, across from the Riley Gallery, every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. Are you a person of influence? It may surprise you, but we are all people of influence in one way or the other. Just by the very nature. of your existence you have influence. How much and how significant it is depending upon you. The scope of your influence might only be your immediate family, but it is still an influence.
A friend shared with me that he had been asked to include a reading at a funeral he was conducting. The reading that he was to share was one of these short essays that I had written several years earlier. Although I didn’t know the person who had passed, my influence through writing was being remembered and shared with others at their funeral.
What we don’t understand or realize is that our life is an influence on whomever we meet and don’t meet. How we interact with others, our comments with what we say and don’t say all have a bearing in the lives of others. Whether intentional or unintentional, we leave an impression as we traverse through life. It might be like the scent of a rose or the stink of a skunk, we all leave something behind. Ultimately, we all have a choice about the type of influence that we will create.
Not sure about what your influence? Simply ask others. This might be the first step. Another way is to look at your social media posts. It can say much about who you are, what you like and dislike, your spirituality, and even your political leanings. What others see will have an influence both in a positive manner and negative. If you don’t like what you’re seeing you have the power to change that. Remember you may not have the power to change others, but you do have the power to change how you’ll allow them to influence you and vice versa. So yes, you are a person of influence you must choose what type of influence you’re going to have. Think about it.
