Affiliates of Journey Health System Join to Highlight Mental Health Awareness Month
BRADFORD, Pa–As Journey Health System (JHS) welcomes the month of May, their affiliates are coming together to recognize National Mental Health Awareness Month. Their theme this year, “There is help, There is hope.” serves as a reminder of the important link between mental health and overall well-being.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly one in four adults in the United States lives with a mental health condition.
Journey Health System, headquartered in Bradford and spanning 23 counties across Pennsylvania, is a beacon of hope in behavioral health care. Through its extensive network of affiliates—including Beacon Light Adult Residential Services (BLARS), Beacon Light Behavioral Health System (BLBHS), Deerfield Behavioral Health (DBH), Dickinson Center, Inc. (DCI), Forest Warren Mental Wellness Association (FWMWA), and Stairways Behavioral Health (SBH)—the entire team addresses the complex needs of those grappling with mental illness and substance use disorders.
The organization’s commitment to addressing mental health extends beyond facilities and programs; it encompasses partnerships that enhance accessibility to quality services for all. With nearly 1,000 dedicated employees, JHS showcases the power of collaboration in fostering resilience and healing within the communities their agencies serve.
“Journey Health System and our affiliate partners share a common mission of providing effective behavioral health treatments, compassionate care, education and essential services,” stated Guy Signor, president and CEO. “However, it takes many individuals, organizations and communities to come together to address the stigma surrounding mental illness and to promote understanding, empathy and support for those affected.”
Now more than ever, JHS and their affiliates urge individuals to “Mind Your Health”—for yourself, your loved ones, and your communities. If you or someone you know struggles with mental health concerns, take the first step. Talk to someone about your feelings – a primary care physician, a psychiatrist, a counselor/therapist, a teacher, a parent, a sibling, a spouse, a friend or a co-worker. And, remember the 988 crisis lifeline is always available.
