Dominic P. Petruzzi, 42, of Coudersport

Coudersport, PA – Dominic P. Petruzzi, 42, of Coudersport, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Dominic was born on October 10, 1983, at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA; the son of John D. and Joann P. Petruzzi. On September 6, 2008, in Turtlepoint, PA, he married Julie R. Sunderland, who survives.
Dominic was a graduate of Smethport Area High School Class of 2002 and entered the U.S. Army that same year. He served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and other campaign awards.
Dominic had a deep reverence for the outdoors and was a skilled fly fisherman; establishing his own business, Streamer King Flies, he made a career of tying flies, fly fishing and sharing his knowledge. His signature streamers and flies were shipped and used by anglers around the world. His dedication led him to become an Ambassador for both Norvise and Orvis companies, achieving the role of an Orvis Endorsed Guide.
He was a member of Trout Unlimited, Seneca Chapter, where he served as secretary and president. He also participated in Project Healing Waters, the Mayfly Project, and many other local events; helping others to learn the many benefits of fly tying and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Julie Petruzzi, he is survived by his parents, John D. and Joann P. Petruzzi of Lewis Run, PA; a daughter: Madlynn J. Hinchman of Olean, NY; and a brother: John W. Petruzzi of Palatine, IL.
A memorial service for Dominic will be held on Monday, August 24th at 11 AM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 105 Main St., Port Allegany, with Pastor Max Simms officiating.
