Open Auditions for Two New Tiny Tims

Hamilton-Gibson is seeking two children to perform in our annual production of A Christmas Carol during the Dickens of a Christmas Festival. The 2026 productions will mark the 27th year Hamilton-Gibson produces this play. These two different productions are performed over one weekend at The Coolidge Theatre and The Warehouse Theatre. Open auditions will be held Monday, July 13, at 6:30pm and Sunday, July 19 at 1:00pm. Both auditions will be held at the Warehouse Theatre Gallery (lobby). Auditions are open to any child ages six to ten years old.
Whoever is cast as Tiny Tim will also play other roles. As actor 1, they will join four other performers to tell the tale of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, a coldhearted man who learns the value of love thanks to the intervention of three ghosts who come to haunt him on Christmas Eve. The mix of holiday cheer, whimsical humor, and a good dose of scary thrills combine with the timeless truths and themes in this story of a man’s redemption, making it one all can embrace.
Actor 1 serves as a Narrator and plays several characters, including Tiny Tim and The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Be. Gender does not matter, but the child must be able to read well and memorize lines. Actors should be energetic, able to dance and move quickly, and have a keen sense of humor. This is a large role, so learning the lines and blocking will be a challenge, but children have embraced and excelled in this role for many years.
The Coolidge Theatre edition is directed by Thomas Putnam and has a school performance Friday morning, December 4, and performances all day on December 5. The Warehouse Theatre edition is directed by Gabe Hakvaag, and also performs all day on December 5 with a single matinee performance on December 6.
Hamilton-Gibson uses the one act adaptation of A Christmas Carol by Christopher Schario. The production makes full use of Dickens’s prose, with just five actors playing dozens of characters. This long-standing annual production has delighted families for decades, with many members of the cast returning year after year.
The Warehouse Theatre is located at 3 Central Ave, Wellsboro. Questions may be directed to thomas@hamiltongibson.org or gabe@hamiltongibson.org.
