Smethport – Robin L. “Rob” Maynard, 72, of Smethport, passed away Friday (June 19, 2026) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.

He was born September 19, 1953, in Port Allegany, the son of Willis and Doris (McKean) Maynard. On October 21, 1989, in Smethport, he married Sandra Lynch, who died August 20, 2022.

Rob was a 1971 graduate of Smethport Area High School and a graduate of Mansfield University with a degree in elementary education.

Mr. Maynard worked for Pittsburgh Corning of Port Allegany, then for Temple-Inland of Hutchins, and finally at Willamette Paper Company, now Domtar, of Johnsonburg.

He enjoyed woodturning for many years and created many unique wood pieces for people. He also loved watching his grandson, Cameron, play baseball and basketball. Rob was a social member of the American Legion and VFW, both in Smethport.

He is survived by a daughter, Erin (Andrew) Edgar of East Smethport, and a son, Nathan Maynard  of Crosby

Five grandchildren: Lyla, Oliver and Wyatt Maynard, Cameron, and Ellie Carlson

One brother: Michael John “Mick” (Patty) Maynard of Port Allegany

And several nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents and wife, Rob was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Paul Maynard and Dennis A. Maynard.

Following Rob’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
