A Celebration Of Life For Daniel Richard McCann
Port Allegany – A Celebration of Life for Daniel Richard McCann, 79, who passed away May 11, 2026, will be held with graveside services on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00AM in Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev Joann Piatko, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Port Allegany Honor Guard. A celebration of Dan’s life will follow at the Moose Lodge, Port Allegany.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Port Allegany, PA.
Zach Brody Wins Iron Grouse Trophy at Second Annual Iron Grouse Shoot at Bradford Gun Club
Bradford, Pa.: Zach Brody came out on top of the 80+ experienced shooters and grouse enthusiasts that showed up Saturday, July 11, at the Bradford Gun Club to make the Second Annual Iron Grouse Shoot in Pennsylvania a huge success. The Ruffed Grouse Society/American Woodcock Society sincerely thanks the Bradford Gun Club for their excellent facilities and accommodations.
And a good time was bountiful despite the hot sun. Shooters got to shoot their choices of 25-clay trap, 25-clay skeet, 25-clay 5-stand, and 50-clay sporting clays at the outstanding facilities at the Bradford Gun Club on SR 770 south of Bradford, McKean County. The final score is a compilation of all four shoots. All shooters have a chance to win overall top prize.
Attendees came from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, and Ohio.
Sharon Lee “Sunny” Lewis, 79, of Bradford
Sharon Lee “Sunny” Lewis, 79, of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at her residence.
Born on November 16, 1946, in Monrovia, IN, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Trotter) Bray.
She was a 1964 graduate of Danville High School in Indiana.
On April 8, 1983, in the Asbury United Methodist Church, she married Mark S. Lewis, who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Mark, of 43 years, are two daughters, Kristen Darling and Lynnette Miller, one son, Ed Miller, nine grandchildren, Brandi Miller, Alicia Miller, Sam Scott, Michayla Deleon, Makenzee Miller, Joshua Miller, Gabrielle Verollini, Jeffrey Estep, and Alexandria Falconi, and several cousins.
A private graveside service will be held for family in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the SPCA, Asbury Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

James R. “Jim” Pierce, 85, Formerly of Bradford
James R. “Jim” Pierce, 85, formerly of Riley Road Apts., Bradford, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at The Pavilion at BRMC.
Jim was born in Punxsutawney on July 31, 1940. He was a son of the late Lloyd and Nettie (Carlson) Pierce. He was a 1958 graduate of Salamanca High School.
Jim was employed after graduating as an ambulance driver and later at Parkview in Salamanca. He worked for 26 years as a Railroad Engineer with the Erie & Lackawanna Railroad, the B&O Railroad, the Chessie Railroad, and finally at the B&P Railroad.
He enjoyed traveling by motorhome around the country, spending time with his family, and going to the casino.
Keith Edward Lounsberry, 83, of Bradford
Keith Edward Lounsberry, 83, of Bradford, passed away peacefully at 8:15 a.m. on June 9, 2026, at Bradford Manor.
Keith was born on December 28, 1942, in Wellsville, NY, to Hobart Keith Lounsberry and Evelyn Priscilla Davidson.
On March 25, 1967, Keith married the love of his life, Sue Fargo. Together, they built a life filled with love, devotion, familiar routines, and countless memories throughout their 59 years of marriage. Keith was a dedicated husband and family man who loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply.
Keith worked first shift for many years as a Gasket Specialist at Dresser Manufacturing in Bradford. He retired on September 30, 2008, after a long and dedicated career. In a meaningful coincidence, Keith passed away at 8:15 a.m.—815 was the clock number he had used throughout his many years at Dresser Manufacturing.
Keith was a hardworking man who was especially talented with his hands. Nearly all the work done on his home was completed by him, and he took great pride in caring for his house and flower beds. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. He was always there when someone needed him, knew the right things to say, and gave some of the very best advice.
Keith created many treasured memories with his family.

Anthony E. Brzenski, Jr., 87
Anthony E. Brzenski, Jr., 87 years old, “Tony” to most, son, brother, cousin, uncle to some, husband to one, father and grandfather to few passed away to be with his wife Mary of 53 years on June 18, 2026. He was a beloved and respected Piller of his community his peers and especially his family. Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, music was his life. After graduating salutatorian from Scranton Tech, he attended Mansfield University, where he earned his bachelors degree in music, education and theory. Proudly, he was a fraternal member of Phi Mu Alpha. He then graduated with a masters degree in music from Ithaca College all the while performing in jazz ensembles and touring big-bands back when the Poconos were in full swing and all throughout the state. After his accreditations, he landed in the quaint historic town of Smethport Pennsylvania, where he educated and inspired young musicians in the surrounding area for over 42 years.
During which, he was a huge proponent of the arts. He was synonymous with the legendary productions of the local Kiwanis Club’s biggest fundraiser “the Kiwanis Kapers” which he wrote and directed and performed in during most of his career; as well as performing for many local theater pit and Community Orchestras.
Pickett, Owlett: Pennsylvania Budget Passes Without Touching Rainy Day Fund, Highlights Need for Future Growth
HARRISBURG – Reps. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) today issued the following statement in support of House passage of the 2026-27 state budget:
“The budget we were presented with and passed yesterday resolved critical concerns we had when the governor introduced his proposal in February. This budget brought spending down to $50.8 billion while avoiding new taxes for Pennsylvanians and leaving the state’s Rainy Day Fund intact. However, this was certainly not a budget we would have written ourselves and demonstrates how compromise serves an imperative role in the budgeting process.
Open Auditions for Two New Tiny Tims
Hamilton-Gibson is seeking two children to perform in our annual production of A Christmas Carol during the Dickens of a Christmas Festival. The 2026 productions will mark the 27th year Hamilton-Gibson produces this play. These two different productions are performed over one weekend at The Coolidge Theatre and The Warehouse Theatre. Open auditions will be held Monday, July 13, at 6:30pm and Sunday, July 19 at 1:00pm. Both auditions will be held at the Warehouse Theatre Gallery (lobby). Auditions are open to any child ages six to ten years old.

FY 2026-27 State Budget Passes, Topper Says
HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania House Republican Leader Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Fulton) said Sunday that the Fiscal Year 2026-27 state budget and related legislation passed the Pennsylvania General Assembly and now heads to Gov. Josh Shapiro for his expected signature.
“The budget passed by the General Assembly today continues our recent history of scouring every corner of state government for existing taxpayer dollars to avoid tax increases, cuts to government services or tapping into the Commonwealth’s Rainy Day fund,” Topper said.
Causer Votes ‘Yes’ to 2026-27 State Budget
HARRISBURG – In a rare Sunday legislative session, the General Assembly approved and sent to the governor’s desk a $50.8 billion state budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year. Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) cast a vote in favor of the plan and its investments in core government services but also cautioned more work needs to be done to solidify the Commonwealth’s financial future.
He issued the following statement:
“Adopting the budget is one of our most important responsibilities as lawmakers, and I am pleased we were able to significantly reduce the amount of spending the governor proposed earlier this year while also funding core government services without tapping into the Rainy Day Fund in this year’s plan,” Causer said. “Most importantly, this budget also does not include any new or increased taxes for our hardworking families or our employers.
