The Cadillac Cats, including lead guitarist and founder Blair Mitcheltree, powerhouse lead vocalist Becky Wool, Urie Kline on drums, Garrett Gaetano on bass, and Shawn Strickland on harmonica, will give a free funky blues concert on the Deane Center’s outdoor stage beginning at 6 p.m. at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Coolidge Theatre.

Known for mixing old-school blues grit with their modern funk, rock, and R&B groove, this Williamsport-based band delivers foot stomping blues at every show. They released their new, album “Swamp Funk” on August 21 at the Back Alley Bar and Grill in Williamsport and on all major digital and streaming platforms on August 28.

The Cadillac Cats, a two-time Central Pennsylvania Music Awards (CPMA) nominee for Best Blues Band and two-time International Blues Challenge (IBC) quarter finalist, consider their setlist as a “song bag” they can pull from depending on the mood of the crowd and to keep the music fresh and exciting not only for their fans but also for themselves.

This concert is being held in conjunction with Wellsboro’s First Friday, a community street festival on Main Street that will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and sit in the grassy area in front of the outdoor stage or on Central Avenue, which will be closed to motor vehicle traffic between the side of the Warehouse Theatre building and Main Street. 

The public is invited to attend any of the free concerts in the series made possible by sponsor UPMC Health Plan.

The series will end on Friday, Oct. 2 with Hot Rod Mule singing and playing hard-driving bluegrass and country music  In case of rain, this concert will be moved indoors to the Warehouse Theatre Gallery at 3 Central Avenue in Wellsboro.
