Shinglehouse Summer Fest A Big Success

❤️🤍💙 THANK YOU, SHINGLEHOUSE! ❤️🤍💙
As the final fireworks lit up the night sky and another unforgettable Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department Summer Fun Fest came to a close, we have spent the last day reflecting on just how fortunate we are to be part of such an incredible community.
Our goal was to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday by bringing our community together for a day filled with patriotism, family fun, and hometown pride—and thanks to all of you, it was everything we hoped for and so much more.
From the bottom of our hearts… THANK YOU!
To everyone who attended throughout the day, thank you for making this year’s Summer Fun Fest one of our most successful celebrations yet. Whether you watched the parade, entered the car show, shopped with our vendors, enjoyed the live entertainment, brought your children to the games and activities, picked up a Chicken BBQ, watched the Mercy Flight helicopter demonstration, participated in Water Wars, or stayed late to enjoy our spectacular fireworks display, you helped make this an event our community will remember for years to come.
To our many business sponsors, organizations, donors, and individuals who generously contributed financially, donated supplies, or supported us in countless other ways—your generosity made this celebration possible. Every dollar, every donation, and every act of kindness helped create an amazing day for our community while honoring our nation’s 250 years of freedom. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.
A very special thank you goes to Crosstown Alliance Church, whose members not only sponsored our children’s area but also spent the day organizing and running the kids games and activities. The smiles, laughter, and excitement throughout the park were a direct result of your hard work and dedication. Thank you for giving our youngest guests a day they won’t soon forget.
We also want to recognize the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts for volunteering their time preparing and serving food throughout the day. Your willingness to serve our community speaks volumes about your organization and the young people involved. Thank you for your hard work.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the Ismailia Shriners for making the trip to Shinglehouse and bringing your famous go-karts to our parade. You were one of the biggest highlights of the day and brought smiles to countless faces along the parade route. We would especially like to recognize our very own firefighter, Howard “Scuff” Simons, who proudly represented both the Shriners and the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department by driving one of the go-karts in the parade. Thank you for helping make our parade such a memorable experience for everyone in attendance!
We are also incredibly grateful to Oswayo Valley School District for allowing us to use your grounds for the car show and Mercy Flight demonstration, and to the Shinglehouse Borough for the continued use of Assembly Park and the surrounding facilities. Your partnership and support make events like this possible and help strengthen our entire community.
To all of our vendors, food trucks, entertainers, musicians, DJ Clark Entertainment, the Community Choir, Mercy Flight crew, parade participants, car show participants, judges, and everyone who worked behind the scenes, thank you for sharing your talents and helping provide a first-class event for our community.
Perhaps the biggest thank you goes to the many volunteers who spent countless hours planning, organizing, setting up, directing traffic, cooking, serving food, cleaning, coordinating events, tearing everything down, and making sure every detail was taken care of. These events don’t happen by accident—they happen because people are willing to give their time for the benefit of others.
We also want to recognize every member of the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department and Shinglehouse Ambulance Association, along with your families, for your tireless dedication. While everyone else was enjoying the festivities, you remained ready to answer emergency calls whenever duty called. Your commitment to serving this community never goes unnoticed.
This year’s Summer Fun Fest was about much more than a single day of activities. It was about celebrating 250 years of American freedom, honoring the spirit of volunteerism, supporting local businesses and organizations, and bringing our community together in a way that reminds us why Shinglehouse is such a special place to call home.
We are humbled by the incredible support shown by our community and proud to serve each and every one of you.
Thank you for believing in your volunteer fire department. Thank you for supporting your volunteers. Thank you for celebrating America’s 250th Birthday with us.
We hope everyone made wonderful memories, and we can’t wait to welcome you back next year!
