Lane Restriction Next Week on Route 220 SB in Woodward Township, Lycoming County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of a lane restriction next week on Route 220 southbound in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, for a road maintenance project.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be milling and patching Route 220 southbound between west of Northway Road and Dome Lane. Motorists can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted where work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.

Road Maintenance Planned Next Week on Mount Zion Drive in Cooper Township, Montour County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a portion of Mount Zion Drive (Route 2013), will be closed next week in Cooper Township, Montour County, for roadway maintenance.
On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and Wednesday, April 16, 2025, between the hours of 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Mount Zion Drive will be closed between River Drive (Route 2006) and Ridge Drive (Route 2006), while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew completes roadway maintenance. Work includes base repairs, patching, and miscellaneous maintenance.
A detour using River Drive and Ridge Drive will be in place while work is being performed. School buses will be permitted through the work zone.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, anticipate travel delays, and drive with caution.

Reconstruction Project Continues on Interstate 80 in Montour and Northumberland Counties
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a multi-year construction project continues on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound between Danville, Montour County and Limestoneville, Northumberland County.
The week of Monday, April 14, 2025
The contractor will begin work on the bridges carrying Interstate 80 over Narehood Road (Route 3003), which is located approximately 3 miles east of Exit 215 (Limestoneville / Route 254) in Liberty Township and Klondike Road (Route 3007), approximately 2 miles west of Exit 224 (Danville / Route 54) in Valley Township.
Narehood Road
- Construction will begin on the temporary bridges that will carry Interstate 80 over Narehood Road.
- Traffic will be shifted to the temporary structure, when completed, while the existing structures are replaced.
- Traffic should be alert for changing traffic patterns.
Klondike Road
- Rehabilitation of the bridge that carries Interstate 80 eastbound over Klondike Road will begin.
- Klondike Road will be closed between Oak Grove Road and Route 642 (Liberty Valley Road).
- A detour using Oak Grove Road, Mauger Road, Stump Road (Route 3006), Liberty Valley Road (Route 642) will be in place while the bridge is being rehabilitated.
Work continues on the installation of the new highway lighting and signage between mile markers 219 and 221, which is located just west of Exit 224 (Danville / Route 54).
Work will be performed during daylight hours, weather permitting. Motorists should alert, slow down, watch for changing traffic patterns, lane shifts, and drive with caution through the work zone.
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $53,138,380 project. Work includes roadway reconstruction, resurfacing, structure replacement, rehabilitation, preservation, lighting, and other miscellaneous work. This multi-year project is expected to be completed in 2027.

Intersection Improvement Project Continues along the Route 54 Corridor in Montour County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a multi-year intersection improvement project continues along the Route 54 corridor near the Route 642 west (Liberty Valley Road) and Route 642 east (Jerseytown Road) intersection in Valley and Mahoning townships, Montour County.
The week of Monday, April 14, 2025, Route 642 (Liberty Valley Road) will continue to remain closed between the intersection of Route 54 and Old Valley School Road (Route 3009), while the contractor begins work on a drainage project. Work includes the installation of a storm water pipe at the intersection west of Route 54. Work will be performed around 24-hours a day and is anticipated to be completed on April 21, 2025.
Traffic Impacts
Motorists will not have access to Liberty Valley Road from Route 54 or onto Route 54 from Liberty Valley Road. The following detour will be established when the closure is implemented.
Car Detour
- Route 54 traffic will use Old Valley School Road and Liberty Valley Road (Route 642).
- Route 642 traffic will use Old Valley School Road and Route 54.
Truck Detour
Large commercial vehicles should use the following detour route.
- Route 54, Interstate 80, Route 254, Route 147, Route 642 in Montour and Northumberland counties.
The closure is anticipated to last approximately 14 days, weather permitting. Motorists should be alert, slow down, anticipate travel delays, and drive with caution.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc. is the prime contractor on this $29.8 million intersection improvement project along the Route 54 corridor near the Route 642 west (Liberty Valley Road) and Route 642 east (Jerseytown Road). Work on the project includes realignment and signalization of the Route 54 and Route 642 intersection, bridge improvements, including replacement of the bridge deck that carries Route 54 over the Mahoning Creek, substructure repairs, and relocation of the park and ride. Additional work includes pavement repairs, widening, mill and resurface, line painting, and sign upgrades. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in the fall 2029, weather pending.

Overnight Closures Start Next Week at I-80/Route 42 Interchange in Hemlock Township, Columbia County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that overnight ramp closures will start next week at the Interstate 80 / Route 42 interchange (Exit 232 / Buckhorn) in Hemlock Township, Columbia County. This project is part of a multi-year reconstruction and resurfacing project continues next week on Interstate 80 in Columbia County.
Starting Tuesday, April 15, 2025, the contractor will begin work on the entrance and exit ramps at the Interstate 80 / Route 42 interchange (Exit 232 / Buckhorn). Motorists can expect the below closures.
Traffic Impacts
- Interstate 80 west entrance ramp from Route 42 south will be closed.
- A detour using Interstate 80 east, Exit 236 (Route 487/Bloomsburg), Interstate 80 west, will be in place.
- Interstate 80 east entrance ramp from Route 42 north will be closed.
- A detour using to Interstate 80 west, Exit 224 (Route 54/Danville), Interstate 80 east, will be in place.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for stopped or slow-moving vehicle, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc. is the prime contractor for this $11.1 million reconstruction and resurfacing project. Work includes shoulder reconstruction, roadway resurfacing, structure preservation, signing, and other miscellaneous work. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in June of 2025.

Night Work Begins Next Week on Route 54 near Washingtonville, Montour County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a bridge replacement and roadway resurfacing project continues next week with night work on Route 54 in Derry and Valley townships, Montour County.
On Monday, April 14, 2025, the contractor HRI, Inc., will begin paving the temporary roadway at the intersection of Route 54 and Stecker Mill Road (Route 3010) in Derry Township. This work is scheduled for two nights, weather permitting. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway, slow down, and watch for slow or stopped vehicles.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the contractor will begin base repairs on Route 54. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed.
Work will be performed Sundays through Thursdays between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
HRI, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $5.5 million bridge replacement and roadway resurfacing project. Work includes replacement of the existing bridge that carries Route 54 over Stony Brook with a box culvert and minor roadway repairs near the bridge. Additional work includes the mill and resurface of 5.6 miles of Route 54 between Route 254 in Derry Township and Valley Road (Route 3008) in Valley Township and 0.6 mile of Route 54 between Valley Road and the Roadside Rest Area in Valley Township. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in December 2025.

Bridge Deck Cleaning Project Next Week on I-80 in Columbia County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of lane restrictions next week on Interstate 80 in both directions in Hemlock, Mount Pleasant, Scott, South Centre, and Mifflin townships and the Town of Bloomsburg, Columbia County for bridge deck cleaning.
On Monday, April 14, 2025, and Tuesday, April 15, 2025, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be performing bridge cleaning along Interstate 80 between mile markers 228 at the Montour County line and 247 at the Luzerne County line. Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions where work is being performed.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, and Thursday, April 17, 2025, crews will be performing bridge cleaning on the bridges carrying Interstate 80 over the North Branch Susquehanna River, located between Exit 241 (Lime Ridge / Route 11) and Exit 242 (Mifflinville / Route 339). Motorists can expect lane restrictions where work is being performed.
Work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
