Paulette A. Little of Bradford passed away at the Bradford Ecumenical Home on December 24, 2024, at the age of 81 after a lengthy illness. Paulette was born in Bradford on December 10, 1943, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Jane Bednar Platko. She was raised in Custer City and graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1961. Paulette grew up with two siblings: Patricia Ann and Paul Andrew.
On May 5, 1962, she married Harold E. Little, the love of her life, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Lewis Run. Together, they raised four children, Jody Ann, Kimberly Sue, Janelle Marie and Harold, Jr (Chip).
At the time of her retirement, she was the director of human resources at Cameron and Elk County Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program where she had been employed for almost 20 years. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors. Paulette and Harold were involved in several youth activities over the years, including the organization and development of the Pigtail Softball League in which they also coached the teams their daughters were on.
In her retirement, she enjoyed providing childcare for family and close friends. She was an avid cook and baker. Throughout her retirement, she was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills.
Paulette is survived by her husband of 62 years Harold; children, Jody Ann Randolph, Janelle (Mark) Nolan, Chip (Bobbi) Little, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, sister Patricia (Bernard) Canaan, sisters-in-law Barbara Platko, Kay Little, Patricia Finlan and Donna Douthit, brothers-in-law, Dr. Paul Johnston, Charles (Wanda) Little, Harry Little and James (Dolly) Little, her dearest friend Joyce Schaming, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Sue Robinson who passed away February 19, 2022, her brother Paul, sisters-in-law Eline Jordan and Beverly Johnston, brothers-in-law Richard Little, Hazen Jordan, Bernard Little and Larry Douthit.
Paulette was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Bradford. She and Harold shared their love of God and the Catholic faith with many who wanted to join the Catholic Church through teaching in the RCIA Program. Paulette also served as president of the Parish Council and taught catechism classes for many years.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard Church on Saturday, January 4 at 11 AM. Family will receive guests one hour prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers and Mass requests, memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard Church Religious Education Program, Bradford Area Public Library, Hanley Library at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford or a charity of the donor’s choice.
