Dennis L. Hostutler, 70, of Bradford, formerly of Derrick City, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at his residence.
Born on December 14, 1952, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Harold and Bonna (Chandler) Hostutler. He was a 1970 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On August 24, 1974, in Philadelphia, he married the love of his life, Angelina (DiBattista) Hostutler, who survives. Dennis worked as a butcher for Tops for over 35 years supporting his family.

Opening WCCA’s 2023-2024 Season on Saturday, Sept. 9 is Rory Block, a formidable slide guitarist, talented songwriter, and one of the world’s top female blues performers.
Now until Monday, Aug. 14, Wellsboro Community Concert Association (WCCA) season subscribers can opt for an “Early Bird Combo” package for $100 that includes six concerts for $75 ($12.50 per concert) and a seventh concert on Wednesday, Sept. 13 by Tusk – the World’s Number One Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band for $25 ($14 off the $39 ticket price).
“Our subscribers have been asking us to bring Tusk back to Wellsboro ever since this band’s two sellout performances in 2019,” said Russ Dodson, WCCA president.

On Saturday, Aug. 12, Hamilton-Gibson Productions is hosting the Second Annual Broadway Under the Stars Fundraiser Concert at Stony Fork Creek Campground at 658 Stony Fork Creek Road, Wellsboro.
The 90-acre campground is in Delmar Township, about 10 miles south of Wellsboro in the heart of Pennsylvania Grand Canyon country.
The Sherwood Motel and Canyon Motel are sponsoring the event.
CRCF accepting Mental Wellness Fund, Wagner Family Fund grant applications
The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the Mental Wellness in Cattaraugus County Fund and Wagner Family Fund.
Applications for the Mental Wellness Fund will be due September 1. Applications for the Wagner Family Fund will be due September 30.
The online grant applications can be accessed at cattfoundation.org/grant-seekers/grant-opportunities/.
Grants from the Mental Wellness Fund support programs and services provided by nonprofits that support the mental wellbeing and mental health of residents in Cattaraugus County.
Grants from the fund typically range from $500 to $1,500, but up to $4,000 may be available for special projects, particularly those that impact vulnerable and/or disadvantaged populations.

Leon D. Sherwood, Sr., 62, of Smethport, passed away Saturday (July 29, 2023) at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.

Dewey Drexel Leonard, 74, of Port Allegany, PA

We are sad to announce the passing of Dewey Drexel Leonard of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania. He died at age 74 on July 28, 2023.
Dewey is survived by his wife, Lynne who he married on April 3rd, 1976. He is also survived by his siblings Curtis, Kimberly and Greg.
Dewey was predeceased by his parents Drexel and Lily and his brother Russell. He graduated from Port Allegany High School and Pennsylvania State University.
He worked for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 37 years and until his illness as a construction inspector.

James L. ROGERS, 77, of Scio, NY, died Friday, July 28, 2023 in his home. Born November 28, 1945, in Olean, he was the son of Lyman and June Dutton Rogers. On September 17, 1965, in Scio, he married the former Beverly E. Babbitt, who predeceased him on August 3, 2004.
A graduate of Friendship High School, he was the Chief of Police in South Pekin, IL for two years, then worked for A.L. Blades & Sons in Hornell for 20 years as an equipment operator. James enjoyed playing Texas hold ‘em, doing carpentry work throughout his life, and maintaining a small farm for 45 years.
Devin K. Webster, age 23, of Wellsboro, PA

Devin K. Webster, age 23, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
He was born on March 14, 2000 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Craig and Erin (Osgood) Webster.
Devin graduated from SLTC Lineman School in 2019 and was employed by Overland Contracting of Pittsburgh, PA as a cell tower technician. Devin enjoyed riding motorcycles, having ridden motorcycles since he was seven years old.
Devin’s other hobbies included skydiving, shooting, learning to cook and the occasional pick-up soccer match. He was always ready for the next big adventure. Devin enjoyed life — having a good time, going to comedy shows, concerts, casinos and just hanging out with friends, coming up with all manner of pranks and shenanigans. He had a dry sense of humor and easy going personality. He will be missed by his family, friends and coworkers.

Dora L. (Marshall) Reese, age 63, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
She was born on March 17, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Lynn and Betty (Peter) Marshall and was the wife of the late Stephen H. Reese.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, taking care of her family and friends and her faith in God never wavered.
Dora is survived by a son: Nicholus (Avonia) Ives of Erin, NY, brother: David (Rachel) Marshall, two grandchildren: Gabby Ives and Logan Ives and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
