Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a job fair will be held for those seeking employment with the department in Montour County.
The job fair will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the following location:
August 21 – UPDATE: PennDOT Provides Updates on Flood Damage Associated with Hurricane Debby in North Central PA
Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), District 3, provides an update on flood damage, planned work, and long-term closures due to extensive flooding that occurred throughout the district on August 9.
The concert will be on the outdoor stage located on the Central Avenue side of the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and sit on the grassy area in front of the outdoor stage or on Central Avenue, which will be closed to traffic between Main Street and the Warehouse Theatre from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 30. If weather becomes an issue, this free concert will be moved indoors into the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre.
The Canyon Pilots Association Labor Day Weekend All-You-Can-Eat Fly-In Breakfast is Next Sunday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon indoors at the corporate hangar at the Grand Canyon Regional Airport in Delmar Township at 112 Runway Road, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
At 6 p.m. this Friday, August 23, Cold Chocolate will close the Free Deane Center Outdoor Summer Concert Series on the outdoor stage at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. The outdoor stage is located on the Central Avenue side of the building.
At 7:30 p.m. next Thursday, Aug. 29, Greggie and The Jets, “the most authentic sounding Elton John Tribute Band ever,” will present the first concert of the fall season in the Coolidge Theatre at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.
The fall season concerts are being sponsored by Ward Manufacturing and C&N.
Theodore G. Schieler (Ted), born February 9th, 1940 in Olean, NY to the late John and Millie Schieler, passed away August 10, 2024 after dealing with a short illness of Alzheimer’s. He had six sisters and two brothers who are all deceased.
Theodore was born and raised in Olean, N.Y. and married the late Audrey Sweigart on April 15, 1963. They had two sons Dennis (Becky) Schieler, of Georgetown Tx.) and Theodore (Rhonda) Schieler(Holiday, Fl.). They had 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Michele M. “Mickey” Milks 63, a loving wife, mother, nona, and sister, of 38 Cross Drive, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY, surrounded by her loving husband, four daughters, and her sister.
Born on November 19, 1960, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Dino V. and Anne (Weber) Vecellio. She was a 1978 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On January 7, 1983, in Bradford, she married Carl L. Milks, who survives.
The nonprofit continues to work alongside other agencies to provide food, clothing and flood cleanup kits to impacted communities and those working to remediate the damages.
TIOGA COUNTY, Pa. (Aug. 21, 2024) — When the remnants of Hurricane Debby swept through Tioga and Potter Counties, Pennsylvania, residents and businesses found themselves overwhelmed by floodwaters and damage. The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) responded to these disasters immediately, providing hope and help to all in need.
Joanne L. Beveridge, 91, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 545 Wolfel Avenue, St. Marys, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
She was born February 20, 1933, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Walter W. and Marjorie Holland Renwick. She was a lifelong resident of St. Marys, a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1950, and employed at Penn Bank where she retired in 1995.
On April 23, 1955 in Sacred Heart Church, Joanne married the late John D. “Jack” Beveridge, who preceded her in death on November 6, 1993.
Joanne is survived by two daughters: Patricia Ann Stauffer (Dennis) and Amy Louise Timm (Frank) both of St. Marys; two sons: David John Beveridge (Lynn) and John Thomas Beveridge (Debbie) both of St. Marys; nine grandchildren: Jacquelyn Brem, Devin Stauffer, Stephanie Anderson, Meghan Eckert, Gina Pistner, Marty Timm, Craig Timm, Andrea Rodich, and Dana Forster; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Steven J. Renwick (Carol) of Middletown, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Saines and brother, Kenneth Renwick.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and donated her time at the United Way and Christian Food Bank. Joanne enjoyed her time at camp and spending time with her family. Her life revolved around her family especially her grandchildren. She was always interested in their activities and ongoing commitments.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:00AM. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Joanne’s family would like to thank all those at Elk Haven and Silver Creek Terrace. They are forever grateful for the care and tenderness given to Joanne.

Cheri (Cheryl Ceriola) Taylor, 76, of Warren, PA., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 19, 2024, with her family at her side.
She was the daughter of Angelo J. Ceriola and Bernadine Graham Ceriola Goyda. She was married to the late David Taylor of Corry, PA., for 46 years, until his death in 2013. Cheri was a 1966 Warren High School graduate and completed several educational courses for advancement in her professions.

Bradford, PA – On Tuesday, representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and the Highway Safety Network (HSN) gathered with safety partners from ARG Refining Group at the company’s Bradford facility to highlight the importance of pedestrian and crosswalk safety. They were additionally joined by safety partners including law enforcement officers from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Bradford City Police, Bradford Township Police, and Foster Township Police.
ARG employees utilize a crosswalk on Route 46 (Kendall Avenue) in Bradford to travel between their parking area and their facility each day. ARG management recently reached out to PennDOT, HSN, and Bradford City Police to coordinate efforts to maintain the highest possible standards of safety for those employees and the traveling public.

Donald D. Morey, Sr., 85, of Smethport, passed away Tuesday (August 20, 2024) at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.
He was born February 23, 1939 in Coudersport, the son of Albert and Grace (Davey) Morey. On March 28, 1964, in Austin, PA, he married Patricia J. Neely, who died February 26, 2008.
Don graduated from Coudersport High School in 1958. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and went in to the U.S. War College at Carlisle, PA.
He served actively in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He was in the Army Reserves from 1961 to 1964. He was honorably discharged as a SP4.
Don was a PA State Trooper from 1963 to 1985. He last worked as a Criminal Investigator Fire Marshall as a trooper. He then was elected as the McKean County Sheriff in 1985, holding that position until 2005. He continued as a Deputy Sheriff from 2006 to 2008. He proudly served his country, state and county for 50 plus years. He was the longest serving Sheriff in McKean County history.
Diane E. Schoonover “Loving wife, mother, and grandmother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA – Diane E. Schoonover passed away suddenly Tuesday. Aug. 20, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Diane was born November 11th, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA and lived most of her life in Shinglehouse, PA. She was the daughter of the late Reuben and Georgia Donovan. She married the love of her life, Fay Schoonover on July 19th, 1966, who survives.
The monthly Young Artisan Class, with Laurie Angood, will be held on Thursday, August 22, from 3 – 4:30 pm. John W. HAMILTON, 64, of Wellsville, NY, died Sunday, August 18, 2024.
Born December 1, 1959, in Buffalo, he was the son of John F. and Frances Santaniello Hamilton. John was a graduate of Kenmore East Senior High School in Tonawanda. He was interested in home improvement from a young age which grew into operating Hamilton Home Repair & Handyman Service. John was an avid Bills fan. A jokester, he always tried to bring a smile to everyone he encountered. Moving to Belmont in 2004, he enjoyed living in the country, hunting, and always aspired to be a farmer.
