United Way Annual Soup Lunch Deadline November 11th
The United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. will be hosting its Annual Soup Lunch, sponsored by First Energy, on Friday, November 18th at the First Presbyterian Church.
This year, the UWBA will be offering: Broccoli Cheese, Stuffed Pepper and Italian Wedding. Each soup is available for pick-up or delivery between 11am and 1:30pm at a cost of $7 for a 12oz bowl or $10 for a 16oz bowl and includes: crackers, utensils and a dessert prepared by the Zonta Club and Bradford Senior Center.
All proceeds will benefit the UWBA. Barbara J. EHRHART, 73, of Galeton, PA, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
Born March 28, 1949, in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Cora Tinder Walters.
A graduate of Galeton Area High School, she studied cosmetology in Erie. She was employed by Giant Foods in York for 30 years.
Surviving are: a sister, Virginia Cimino; two brothers, Steven Walters and Wayne Walters; nephew, Tony and Julie Cimino and their children, Lauren, Erin, and Braiden; nephew, Mitch Walters; nephew, Marc and Charlene Walters; niece, Heather Walters Linehan and daughter, Norah; and niece, Katie and Tim Hanna and their children, Logan, Eleanor, and Sadie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Ehrhart.

Lane Restriction Tonight on Route 15 NB in East Buffalo Township, Union County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of a lane restriction tonight on Route 15 northbound in East Buffalo Township, Union County, for a water main project.
On Wednesday, November 9, the contractor will be performing a water main fix along Route 15 northbound approximately 200-feet south of Stadium Road. Motorists can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted. Work will be performed during the overnight hours.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.

At 3:30 PM on Wednesday, Jay Township Fire Dept. has been dispatched ton a wildfire at 13201 Rt. 555 that is endangering a residence and a camp. Kersey & Penfield requested to assist. St. Marys & Sinnemahoning also dispatched as well as DCNR. Elkland SAR with manpower & units also requested.
Bennetts Valley ambulance dispatched for patient evaluation.
4:20 PM–Emporium, Johnsonburg & Ridgway requested mutual aid.
5:45 PM–This fire is now a major forest fire. Multiple, multiple fire units have been dispatched from a wide area to fight this fire.

Michael Roy Williams, 73, of Port Allegany, PA.
Michael Roy Williams, 73, of Port Allegany, passed away Sunday (November 10, 2019) at his home in Port Allegany, with his wife by his side.
He was born January 19, 1946 in Port Allegany, the son of Harold Williams and Carmella (Bologna).
Michael’s mother died at a very young age .He was raised by Natalie Grimm untill his father narried his step mother, Agnes Murphy. On November, 7 1964, in Troy, NY, he married Mildred Anne Bubie Williams, who survives.
Mr Williams was a 1964 graduate of Port Allegany High School and attended Hudson Valley Technical School of Troy, NY. He also attended Lincoln Welding School.
Mr. Williams was a metal working occupation teacher employed by the Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Career in Port Allegany. Mike spent 26 ½ years teaching and 10 ½ years learning how to teach young adults.
Mike’s main purpose in life was to teach young people how to make a living. He contimued teaching after his death by donating his remains to the Humanity Gifts Registry so young people could learn from research. During mike’s teaching career, he never had a loss of time injury.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by many of his Italian Family.

Philip G. Schwartz, Sr., 76, of Wellsboro, PA
Philip G. Schwartz, Sr., 76, of Wellsboro, PA passed away Monday November 7, 2022 surrounded by family at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport.
He was born May 13, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to Gustave J. and Roberta (Rutkowski) Schwartz. He graduated from Roxborough High School, and earned an Associate’s Degree from Philadelphia College.
Philip served his country in the US Navy in Norfolk, VA and the USS York County.
On February 28, 1970, he married Jerrine “Jerri” Thomas, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Philip worked as a salesman for Pitney Bowes and Postalia, then opened his own business: Alternative Services that focused on sales and service of mailing equipment. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He loved the mountains, the ocean, good food and spirits with family and friends.
He especially loved each of his children and grandchildren. One of his great joys was following all the sports and activities of his children and grandchildren and his beloved boxers.
Philip is survived by his wife Jerri Schwartz of Wellsboro; three sons: Philip G. Schwartz, Jr. of Wellsboro, James J. Schwartz (Sara) of Middlebury Center, and John M. Schwartz of Wellsboro; two daughters: Diane F. Schwartz, and Lorraine K. Alexander (David) of Wellsboro; and five grandchildren: Abbey and Dylan Schwartz, Stone, Luna and Raine Alexander.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother: John G. Schwartz who was killed in Vietnam.
Philip’s family has entrusted his arrangements to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA.
Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Philip’s life from 11:00am-1:00pm Saturday November 12, 2022, and his funeral will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
