Nancy L. Sposato, 81, of 33 Brennan Street, Bradford, PA passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born July 30, 1942, in Bradford, PA, she was a daughter of the late James J. and Mary M. (Chohrach) Manning. She was a 1960 graduate at St. Bernard School.
On May 11, 1963, at St. Bernard Church, she married Richard L. Sposato, who survives.
Nancy formerly worked at the DFS Finance Company, and she worked part time at Bradford Central Christian High School in the cafeteria.

James Sewell, 80, of 29 Ave B, Bradford, PA passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by family.
Born on October 14, 1943, in Bradford, he was a son of the late John C. and Elizabeth R. (Spencer) Sewell. He attended Bradford Area High School.
On November 17, 1969, in Allegany NY, he married Nicholene (Volliet) Sewell who survives.
Jim formerly ran his own construction company, worked for PennDot, the City of Bradford Roadway Department, KOA Speers, Boise Cascade, and the Children’s Home.

PennDOT Urges Homeowners to Winterize Their Mailboxes
Montoursville, PA – As the winter season approaches, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) reminds property owners to make sure their mailbox is in the correct location to ensure the efficiency of both the mail service and the snow plowing operations. In addition, property owners should also inspect their mailbox to verify it has a strong support.
Mail carriers will make every effort to deliver the mail. However, if the mailbox is not accessible to the carrier due to snow build up, or if it is not properly located along the roadway, you may have to pick up your mail at the post office.
DEP Releases Draft 2024 Pennsylvania Integrated Water Quality Report
Public comment on the report will be accepted through December 11.
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has released the draft Pennsylvania 2024 Integrated Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment Report for public comment. The report serves as the biennial update on the health of streams and lakes statewide.
DEP has water quality monitoring stations throughout Pennsylvania that record data year-round and help inform DEP’s work to restore waterways when they are not meeting water quality standards. The Shapiro Administration is committed to ensuring every Pennsylvanian has access to clean air and clean water, as guaranteed under the Pennsylvania Constitution.

Penn College teams make positive strides

The men’s cross-country team at Pennsylvania College of Technology closed out its season with its highest finish ever at an NCAA event over the weekend, while the men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling teams posted victories, and several soccer players received postseason honors.
