Harry Fox Sr., 84, Odin, PA

September 30, 1939 – November 25, 2023
ODIN, PA—-Harry Fox Sr. passed away at his home in Odin on Saturday, November 25, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Born in Spangler, PA he moved to Odin, PA after his father was discharged from the Army following WWII. He attended the Austin School, leaving there in the 10th grade when he believed there “was nothing more they could teach him”.
On November 22, 1957 he married his wife Blanche “Peg” Garman who survives. Harry enlisted in the US Army in 1958, serving time in Germany and stateside where he was in the Operating Engineers 535th. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he became a lifetime member of the Operating Engineers Local 66 where he operated heavy equipment. Throughout his life, he also had several side businesses including K&B Construction and was a local dealer for Harmon Wood Stoves and Mahoning/Freedom Outdoor furnaces.

Deer hunters appear to be having good success within the Kinzua Quality Deer Cooperative (KQDC) this year with the good weather; snow is even predicted later this week. But a Bradford man is having even better luck. A couple of years back, Jason Tingley of Bradford won a deer rifle from the raffle that all hunters get to enter by registering a deer at the KQDC Check Stations. Jason picked out a caliber of his choice at Tall Tales Sports in Russell.

Linda J. (Day) Sticklin, age 75, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
She was born on May 9, 1948 in Wellsboro, PA a daughter of the late Gerald and Naomi (Wilson) Day and was married for 57 years to John E. Sticklin.
Linda was employed for 45 years by Lancaster Dairy Herd Improvement Assoc. as a milk tester and had driven school bus for several years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with children.

Thomas A. Krise, Sr., 85, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Ridge Road, Kersey, PA passed away peacefully Monday, November 27, 2023 at Elk Haven Nursing Home with his son by his side.

State Police Report 979 Crashes, 542 DUI Arrests Over the Thanksgiving Holiday

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) today released its annual Thanksgiving Holiday Crash and Enforcement report. During the Thanksgiving travel period of November 22–26, PSP investigated 979 vehicle crashes resulting in four fatalities. Alcohol was a factor in 73 crashes.
Troopers arrested 542 individuals for driving under the influence and issued more than 10,000 speeding citations over the five-day holiday weekend. Troopers also issued 1,187 citations for failing to wear a seat belt and 133 citations for not securing children in safety seats.

Joyce L. HANES, 87, of Westfield, PA, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 in her home.
Born August 31, 1936, in Potter Brook, she was the daughter of Earl Clifton and Goldie L. Glover Houghtaling. She was married to Frank H. Hanes, who predeceased her in 1988.
Joyce was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident.

David E. Hall, 83, of 68 Wildwood Avenue, Bradford, PA

David E. Hall, 83, of 68 Wildwood Avenue, Bradford, PA passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Olean General Hospital.
Born October 3, 1940, in Conneaut, OH, he was a son of the late Kenneth D. and Marrietta (Ely) Hall.
David was a 1961 graduate of Conneaut High School.
On October 12, 1962, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was assigned to the 82 Airborne at Fort Bragg, in North Carolina. He was honorably discharged on October 12, 1965.
On January 1, 1967, in Arlington VA, he married Sharon J. (Keller) Hall who survives. They resided in Arlington for a time, but soon returned to Conneaut where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Pittsburgh & Conneaut Railroad from 1968 to 1988. In 1988 he moved to Bradford and he worked at the United States Post Office until he retired.
