Adeline A. Donahue, 99, formerly of Rasselas Road, Wilcox, PA, passed away at The Canopy at Warner Robins on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, following a brief illness.
She was born on March 8, 1924 in St. Marys PA, a daughter of the late John and Genevieve Benninger Smith
On May 4, 1946, she married the late James T. Donahue, who preceded her in death in 1995. Together they shared more than 49 years of marriage.
Adeline was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and Warren business college. She was employed at Stackpole Carbon Company until her retirement in 1986. She moved to Warner Robins, GA in 2013 where she enjoyed the sun, swimming and gardening.

Born November 22, 1936 in Delmar Township, he was the son of the late Otto and Myrtle (Finch) Bacon. Andy retired from the Dresser Rand in Painted Post.
He married Marlene (Staight) on October 5, 1963 and shared 60 years together. Andy was a member of the CV Anglers Association for 32 years and a member of the Ulysses American Legion. He enjoyed cutting and selling firewood, hunting, fishing and was devoted to his great-granddaughter.

Doris Lenox, 87, of 115 Benzinger Road, St. Marys, PA passed away peacefully at her home on December 26, 2023, with her family by her side.
She was born on November 27, 1936 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Glatt Williamson. She was a lifelong resident of the area, attended St. Marys Parochial Schools, and managed Hour Glass Cleaners for 36 years.
On September 29, 1956 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she married the late Robert D. Lenox, who preceded her in death on May 15, 2002.
74 PSP Cadets Celebrate Academy Graduation, Prepare for New Trooper Assignments
Harrisburg, PA– Colonel Christopher L. Paris, Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, proudly welcomed 74 new Troopers to PSP during their graduation today from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
“Today marks the culmination of hard work, determination, and excellence that our cadets exhibited throughout their time at the academy,” said Col. Paris. “I have the utmost confidence that our graduates will now take the knowledge and training they’ve learned to uphold PSP’s mission to protect and serve our great Commonwealth.”
The ceremony for the 168th graduating class was held at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Harrisburg, where six cadets received the following special awards and recognition:

Evelyn P. “Lynn” GRANT, 79, of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, December 25, 2023 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
Born July 11, 1944, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Morrow and Emily Lotte Perkins. On August 13, 1966, in Pittsburgh, she married George Robert “Mac” Grant, who survives.
A 1962 graduate of Shaler High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics and a master’s degree in elementary education from Mansfield University.
She was employed as a home economics teacher in the Galeton Area School District, home economist by North Penn Gas Company, Head Start teacher in Ulysses and Galeton, and I.U. #9 Title 1 math teacher in the Galeton Area School District and enrichment teacher in Potter county schools.
Glenn T. Gutgsell, 94, of Emporium, PA

Glenn T. Gutgsell, 94, of Emporium, PA passed away at UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA on Saturday morning, December 23, 2023.
He was born June 16, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI, a son of the late Norman and Frances DuQuette Gutgsell. On November 8, 1952 at St. Mark Catholic Church he married the late Alice Hornung.
Glenn graduated from Galeton High School in the class of 1947. After high school, he served with the U.S. Air Force for 6 years. He was stationed in Japan, during the Korean War and honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Glenn retired from Cameron Manufacturing as a machinist where he had worked for many years. He also drove school bus and was the weekend security guard at Sintered Metals for many years.
Glenn served as a past commander of the VFW Post 6221, was a past Exalted Ruler of the former Emporium Moose Lodge, and served as an officer in the Cameron County Bucktail Rod and Gun Club. Glenn also was a deputy game protector under Norm Erickson. He was a member of Potter County Historical Society and a life member of the Cameron County Historical Society. Glenn was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church.

Born on October 7, 1935, in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of the late Frank T. and Genevieve (Cappozzelli) Palmer. She was a graduate of Olean High School.
On July 7, 1999, in St. Bernard Church, she married Charles G. Bell, who survives.
Phyllis was a member of St. Mary’s of the Angels in Olean and St. Bernard Church.
For many years she was the Bookkeeper at the Greater Bradford Senior Activities Center.

Born July 16, 1940, in Hector Township, PA, she was the daughter of Howard and Mayme B. Snay Stevens. On February 24, 1990, in Knoxville, she married Melvin L. Lowrey, who predeceased her on September 3, 2019.
She was employed by Cooper-Slide in Genesee, Electri-Cord in Westfield, and retired from Truck Lite in Wellsboro in 2003.

Born on Monday, September 20, 1937 in Renovo, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Walter N. and Pearl M. Uhl Plotts.
Mina grew up in the Austin and Coudersport areas and was a graduate of Coudersport High School.
On June 22, 1957 in Austin, she married John L. “Jack” Cooney who preceded her in death on March 25, 2012. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing.

Phyllis R. O’Neill, 86, of Warren, PA, died Monday, December 25, 2023, at St. Vincent Healthcare AHN-Erie, PA., after suffering a fall and fracturing her hip on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Phyllis was born May 5, 1937, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of Horace and Lillian Swanson Gorton. Phyllis was a 1955, graduate of Warren High School. She was employed with Loranger’s, Bon Ton, and worked as a secretary at Boy Scouts of America Cornplanter Council, and Warren County Prothonotary office. She retired as secretary of Elk Township. She was owner and operator of the former Yarn Basket.
Phyllis was a member of First Methodist Church, their Quilters guild, Eastern Star and Order of the Amaranth. She had served as a Girl Scout Leader and served as a board member. She was a member of the Warren YMCA, Warren Bocce Group, and Pine Grove Lioness Club where she served as treasurer. Phyllis was an avid knitter. She is remembered by her family, as a woman with a great sense of humor, who loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
PSP Reports 404 Crashes, 198 DUI Arrests Over Christmas Holiday

Harrisburg, PA – In an ongoing effort to keep Pennsylvanians safe and informed, the Pennsylvania State Police released their annual Christmas holiday crash and enforcement report today, which included 198 arrests of people who drove under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Over the three-day period (Dec. 23-25), PSP investigated 404 crashes, where three individuals died, and 70 others were injured. Alcohol was a factor in 36 crashes.
