Anna M. Kopp, 97, formerly of Houston Road in “Lynchville” St. Marys, PA

Anna M. Kopp, 97, formerly of Houston Road in “Lynchville” St. Marys, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the home of her daughter.
Anna was born on September 21, 1926 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Caskey Cheatle. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools.
On May 3, 1948 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Anna married the late Richard “Dick” Kopp, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1976.
Rabies Clinic Events

Saturday, August 3, 2024, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. He explained that this event requires pre-
registration by July 26. If you miss that event, there is another opportunity to attend the free clinic being
held at the Genesee Valley School bus garage on Saturday, September 28, 2024, between 9:00 a.m.
and 12:00 p.m. This event also requires pre-registration before Friday, September 27.
Memorial butterfly release set for August 1 at BRMC
Bradford, PA – On Thursday, August 1, Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC), a Kaleida Health facility, will be hosting a Memorial Butterfly Release at 3pm. The event will take place at the Tranquility Garden outside the front entrance of the hospital.
The Bradford Hospital Foundation invites anyone looking to honor and celebrate the memory of their loved ones through a live butterfly release. The cost is $20 per butterfly. Participants are asked to reserve their butterflies ahead of time as there are a limited number available.
“We’re excited to bring this event back again for our community,” said Stacy Williams, executive director, Bradford Hospital Foundation. “This is such an intimate ceremony for those who attended. It’s something special, and emotional, to see the butterflies being released to memorialize those who we’ve lost.”

Western New York County Officials Named to National Leadership Posts
County officials from Allegany and Niagara Counties will take on new posts with the National Association of Counties (NACo) following appointments by President James Gore during NACo’s recent Annual Conference in Hillsborough County, Florida.
Allegany County Chairman Brooke Harris was appointed Vice Chair Rural Development Subcommittee
Niagara County Legislator David Godfrey (1oth District) was appointed Vice Chair of the Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee

Travis James “TJ” McCleary, 47, of Brookings, OR, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born on June 12, 1977, in Bradford, he was a son of Cathy (Tsepelis) McCleary and the late Michael Daniel McCleary.
Frank W. Barton, Jr., 75, of 73 Edgewood Road, Bradford, PA

Frank W. Barton, Jr., 75, of 73 Edgewood Road, Bradford, PA passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at The Pavilion @ BRMC surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 24, 1948, in Kane, he was a son of the late Frank W. Barton Sr. and Lois Louise (Hines) Barton. He was a 1966 graduate of Kane High School. After high school he worked at the tannery in Mt. Jewett. Later in life he obtained an associates degree as a Paralegal from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and a business degree from Olean Business Institute
In 1968 he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
On April 5, 1969, in the Mt Nebo Chapel Mt. Jewett, he married Patricia A. (Trumbull) Barton who survives. After the service he worked at Case Cutlery for 20 years then Cutco in Olean for 21 years then he retired. In 1990 he opened Barton’s Notary Service on Congress Street and operated the business until 2012.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 108, Eagles Club, and the VFW Post 212.
Clyde P. Beldin, Jr., 75, of Emporium, PA

Clyde P. Beldin, Jr., 75, of Emporium, PA passed away at UPMC-Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA on Monday morning (July 22, 2024). He was born May 20, 1949 in Ridgway, PA a son of the late Clyde P. Sr and Jennie McKimm Beldin.
Clyde Served with the US Army during the Vietnam conflict (January 1969- August 1970). He worked many years at PA Pressed Metals in the secondaries and grinding departments. Clyde was a member of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW and enjoyed working on cars and riding his motorcycle. His love for FORD vehicles was unsurpassed.

On July, 24 at 12:04 pm Wellsboro Fire Dept was dispatched for a fire with Elkland Fire Dept. dispatched for RIT for a garage fire connected to a structure at 2283 Cherry Flats Rd. The house is now on fire as well call was upgraded to a second alarm. Update Galeton Fire Dept. has also been dispatched.

Causer to Host Bradford Senior Citizens Expo Aug. 2

BRADFORD – Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) is reminding area senior citizens of the annual Senior Citizens Expo coming up on Friday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Sports and Fitness Gymnasium, located on Campus Drive.
“This is always an informative event that is helpful not only to senior citizens but to their family members and caregivers as well,” Causer said. “I encourage everyone to come out and take advantage of the opportunity to get a wealth of information in one convenient location.”

Robin C. “Aunt Tweet” Mazurkiewicz, 60, of Prentisvale Road, Eldred, PA

Robin C. “Aunt Tweet” Mazurkiewicz, 60, of Prentisvale Road, Eldred, PA passed away on Monday (July 08, 2024) at Olean General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 23, 1963 she was the daughter of Edgar and Connie Johnston Armstrong. On June 27, 1987 in Eldred, she married Michael D. (Vern) Mazurkiewicz who survives.
Robin was a 1981 graduate of Otto-Eldred School and a lifelong resident of Eldred. She was also a member of the Eldred Boro Fire Auxiliary.
Surviving including her husband is one son, Caleb E. Mazurkiewicz of Orchard Park, N.Y., one brother; Edgar “Meatball” Armstrong of Eldred and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 03, 2024 from 11am to 2pm. There will be a fire truck procession from the Eldred American Legion to the fire hall.
